Hello,

Any ideas how much microgaming charge form their software? I tried to call them, but they wouldn't disclose (?) that information at "that stage". May be there will be one more Meister approved casino =)

Regards

I think it fully depends on what options you want, how much customers do you expect etc. etc. So they can't give you a price.

btw: This question does make me curious. How much money do you need to start a small online casino(when you outsource alsmost everything: support, payments etc.). Is it near 100k, 500k, 1 mln or 1 mln++? I hope someone will and can give me an indication :)

Doesn't even start (sic) to compare to Microgaming. Certainly the options you have increase the price and MG take a % slug too I'm lead to believe - well, I'm sure they all do but you can bet MG's is a bigger slug! It's not a cheap option but it's definately the best IMO.

startcasino

Gee why do they need to be so brutally honest

In Poker, a "rake" of 4% is taken from each player before the game begins. Furthermore, what is commonly known as "the nature of gambling" indicates that most gamblers keep going until they are out of cash.

Why dont they just say gamblers are mugs u cant lose ..

I dunno about MG, but I recently stumbled across a casino software I have never even heard of who are charging;
Basic Package: €98,999
Full Package: €158,999

I think I need a few more good Ladbrokes scratchcards before I can stretch to that!

I love the way the prices end "999" - as if choosing software is like selecting a tin of baked beans at Tesco; 'Hmmm.. shall I buy the 40p tin or the 39p tin...?"
:D

Which software was that?

You will surely need around 1 Mio$ to seriously think about operating a good running casino (starting costs for software, licenses, design etc. 1/2Mio + one year marketing expense 1/2mio).

Monthly operating costs are between 25K-50K if you operate a 24/7 support center in 2-3 languages. Outsourcing part of the business is becoming a very costly thing and the quality is not always what you would expect. We are actually moving into insourcing all aspect of our operation.

Also note that those figures are an absolute minimum to start operating on the well known top platforms (MG,BOSS,PLAYTECH,WAGER). You will also need additional reserves to cover the big player winnings that can hit you anytime.

Hope it gives you some valuable information about the cost of starting an online casino.

Thanks for reply. The only figures I need is MG (or any other well known) software cost and license's cost.
Am I right that MG is the most expensive software provider?

Yes, and the most diligent to ensure you can fulfill and conform.

In our case Playtech was more expensive than MG, but offered the package with mobile, poker and landbase (videobet), not for 1 mio so!

most small but serious casinos go playtech, the antigua-based support option seem attractive, and playtech software is arguably nicer than microgaming.

I had site of a Net Entertainment system, you had to write your own lobby and the costs were much lower, though I can't say the software's that wonderful

If it's not confidential, what's the price for Net Entertainment system?

The cost to start can be different depending on what games you want to have, and how many, and from what supplier.

Poker is cheaper to start than a casino, couse in poker the player is actally the bank, and for the service the site takes rake.
In casino's you must have a reserve, couse the gambling goes on with machines instead of player versus player.

And you can also actually use other alredy existing networks to cut the cost in the start.

Lets not forget that nobody of the developers started with 50m in their hands :) And when poker and casino sites started they didnt have huge reserves.

So there actually still possibilities to start with a smaller amount.
It' all dependin on what system you want to use, and the type of games you want to offer the clients, and the type of support.
