Microgaming Khatmandu Bonus Video Slot - weird behaviour!

Guys,

I am trying new 'Khatmandu video slot machine' released by microgaming and noticed something really weird.

Whenever I get two 'Bell' symbols in the first reels (1,2,3,4), the next reel takes awful lot of time to stop. Initially I thought my connection must be bad, but then again this happens everytime.

Did anyone else notice this?

Cheers!
Sri

P.S: I am not suggesting that something is wrong, but it just doesn't seem to be right.

FYI: I was playing at Vegas Palms

It's a 'feature' of this slot. When you get two, it goes "oooooooh... will you get three!??!?!?" and does that super annoying speed up reel thing.

Drives me mad.

It is supposed to do it though.

I blame RTG... Oh, and the youth of today, they're responsible for everything ;)

I played Kathmandu a couple of times last night but wasn't doing well at all and never even got 2 Bell symbols, so i don't know. I did notice for every win, it is very slow in calculating your win. Sorta what Harveys does in the bonus round but at Kathmandu it's with EVERY win.

Since Slotster stated that the "oooooh . . . will i get three???!" thing is designed that way, it's probably a deliberate mindgame. It makes a big thing out of nothing to get you on tilt (i don't know whether there's a equivalent term in casinos for this poker behavior), become irrational, and start spinning like crazy to finally hit this big event that the machine is brainwashing you into thinking you keep getting so close to.

Even more annoying..

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned the patronising text that appears whenever you hit a win - hit two tens and it says "well done" or whatever. Hit more than your stake and it says "awesome win!" And the first thing I noticed is that the number symbols are lifted from Munchkins - which is why it looks like a 15 liner. Not a bad game imho despite this.

In autoplay it doesnt count the win - much better. Also, like Harveys, you can click the reels to skip the count :)

On the plus side it pays out on the scatters unlike Harveys

But I think that they should pay double like most other slots, hate that it just gives your bet back

Yeah true but i really meant on triggering the feature you're guaranteed something at least. I gues sthe "bet back" is all part of the variance - there are some quite neat big win combos in there which is probably right up my street. I love the slots with longer lean periods and biiiiig hits - suits my cashout strategy way better than lots of small nothings and the odd bit-more-than-nothing :D

I played this last night, did ok. I like the ooooooooooooooooh cmon spin, it ads to the suspense :) Its weird though they put this in, they definitly changed the speed harveys bonus round pays out during this upgrade now it spends more time showing the win lines than clocking up the win.

I like the suspense when you are waiting for the next reel to land too.

In general I feel MG has the best reel timing compared to most of the other software outfits. You always have enough time to grasp what you have and what you need as each reel stops. The Crypto games I have played just seem to have all the reels stop almost at the same time, there is no entertainment or excitement at all unless you win.

LOL. I don't know what casino you played; i played Kathmandu at All Slots and, fortunately, was spared the condescending feedback. Things are not looking good if at this game just hitting more than your bet is interpreted as an "awesome win"!

Since then i managed to get the bonus round. There was no extraordinary delay for the other reels that would bring the third bell. But, what hoopla during the bonus round! All sorts of noises and sounds and longs view of the winning paylines. I only hit a few wins during the bonus round. Guess the hoopla was the real bonus

Simmo, thanks for saying that there's no counting the w-i-n-s in autoplay but i just didn't want to miss out on those "awesome wins". So, i click on the reels. All in all, still a bloody nuisance.
