Hi,

don't know if this is the right place to post this. It's no special complain or so, but it's bonus related and I do complain... so..

Ok,

since some time most MG casinos have the so called "Clear Play" bonus system. Balance devided into Cash and Bonus. Bonus is released in increments and so on.

First, this was made to give players more control over their money and let them cash out the "Cash Balance" AT ALL TIME. Even, if the playthrough requirements from a bonus (30x bonus amount) are not met yet. The bonus balance is just set to zero at a cash out.
Of course, this was abused, and so, more and more (and now most I think) casinos added a term, saying the "Cash Balance" CAN NOT be cashed out before bonus balance is at zero.

So, all is as before. But when I now get promotion mails, saying I could get 15% Bonus, and I see this new terms, I can only think:

Why should I LOCK my whole deposit to 30 times to 1500 (for BJ !!!!) times the bonus playthrough, just because of 15% ???

Lets say I want to play Video Poker and deposit 100 Euro.

I get 15 bucks...

Mostly, Video Poker has only a count ratio of 5% (!) regarding the playthrough requirements. So, actually, I have to wager 9000 (!) Euros on Video Poker, before I can even get back my deposit money.

For 15 bucks ?

Isn't this a little perverted, even if you are lucky and win 500, you will mostly lose it again... not all players want to play Slots all time, and even with Slots play... wager 450 for 15 with a deposit of 100 ????

For me, this is no bonus, it's a MINUS !

What do you think of this ?

Totally agree just a smart trick from some casinos to lock up my money. Stopped playing with bonuses after I got a 15 % (automatically) and had to wager both my deposit and bonus x 30. E.g. deposit 100, get 15 bonus and I had to wager 3450 for a few nickels. Ridiculous

Hey welcome back w2 - long time no see

Personally, I'd always play without a bonus unless the offer was 50% or better. I considered any less an insult -- not an 'offer' -- and always let the casinos know it, too. For all the good it did.

Anyone remember when FL would call up (Andrew with the great voice would usually be the one who phoned me), all enthusiastic about this great offer they were going to tell you about, and it would be 10% match. :p

They were actually worth taking at one time, and there is the rare one I'll do just for more 'entertainment' time, or when I decide to go for progressives - but I agree today's so-called bonus is a definite minus (malus).

The big problem is the need to complete WR before withdrawing a big win. The ClearPay system is set to make the EV of any bonus -ve, so it is impossible to grind out the WR and make anything off the bonus. On the other hand, 15% is simply not worth locking the whole deposit and going for high variance, as any early big hits are severely in danger when completing WR. These automatic low percentage bonuses really ARE a crafty trap disguised as a benefit.
This new rule means that only bonuses of around 50% are worth while, unless the lower percentages can be accompanied by other promotions while completing the WR, such as scoreboard challenges, or cashback on lost deposit money. Some low percentages offered by MG are an exception if you are a VIP as some groups set a lower WR on the bonus element, making the offers mildly +EV. Two groups have both, lowered WR for VIPs (15x to 10x), and the ability to use the deposit+bonus to compete in the promotions on offer while making the WR.

And, I do not see the sense in this term for such low bonuses. Some MGs have it only for the welcome bonus of 100% and above. This, I CAN understand, because its too easy to exploit it without.
But to exploit 15%, even WITHOUT the term, you would have to wager THAT big and risky to be +EV (because the bonus changes to a non cashable), who would do it for 15%.

The only sense in my view is to lock the money, making people think they gain something...

evrry term is fine as long as they stick to them.

It their perogative to chose the terms, its our perogative to chose their site because of the terms.

Any variation is the sites fault. Anytime we are pissed off with the terms after we deposit is our fault. Im sure there is a balance somewhere but Im happy to use that as my basics
