I was playing Baccarat to clear the wagering requirement until I found my wagering counter (there's one in their web site) remained the same for almost one hour.

I contact the live help and was informed that it is due to "there are some members who have abused the promotion. Because of this baccarat, roulette, sic bo and black jack will not count towards the wagering requirements"

and

"It had to take immediate effect, our terms and conditions do state that we can do this if it is necessary. Due to the members who were abusing the promotion it was necessary. I do apologize for the inconvenience"

and when advised them to changed their T&C in their website, I was informed

"We will do it asap, are in the process now"

So take the note if you want to get the bonus.

Unfortunately, the terms and conditions say what they say. But I closed my account there (one the first accounts opened there before they even came on the scene here) last week and I won't be re-opening it. They started out very well. Much like The Phoenician and Nostalgia casinos early on but have steadily degraded in my opinion.

Have a good one.

Uggg... Played with them, through the bonus. Blackjack, actually. Lost it all, but liked the casino. Was going to go back on Saturday, but it sounds like they have nothing to offer but a hastle now.

It's ok to change the terms of a promotion. It is REALLY not ok to change the terms, not notify the players in advance, and not even update the terms on the website.

That's bad news. The first step down an "us versus them" slope. Any votes on when/if they'll be removed from Accredited?

It kinda makes you wonder what the terms and conditions are, if they're not what's posted on the website.

i don't recall seeing any winner screenshots yet from the Mansion?......i may be paranoid but "proprietary" software scares me

Honestly, I do find/feel their software is fair and do not behavior strangely when I raise my betsize in both Baccarat/BJ. But only my feeling only.

To clarify, when I ask whether I am a bonus abuser, the live help responded,

"Not you other members"

"so we have had to change the rules for everyone "

The live help is actually very helpful and polite.

I just checked the web site, the T&C still shows

"All games (except Blackjack) contribute 100% to meeting the wagering requirement."

Bait and Switch

In the states, this is called "bait and switch". I was through the first tier of the bonus and abt to deposit for the second phase of the bonus when i noticed they had changed the terms again. So i went in to chat, really just to verify that the new terms didn't apply to me. Boy was i surprised when they categorically told me that if I wanted to continue with my sign up bonus--i would not be able to play baccarat.

The CS there told me "Bryan is a fair minded guy"! Ok, Bryan, please let us know what is fair abt making old signups comply with new terms in the middle of their bonus adventure? Please review Mansion's status as an accredited casino--that is the only reason I played there in the first place.

Mansion

I had an account there for a very short time. Got tired of their tricks and I closed the account. If they had been more straighforward they would have probably gotten more of my money.....

I am in a situation with them at the moment that they seem to have serious problems adressing. Not going to get into details, not yet at least, but their CS are using a standard "the amount on your account is correct" phrase to answer clear questions that are in no way related to the amount on my account.

Whether or not the change was 'bait and switch', the effect is the same. It gives players reason to doubt the integrity of the operator.

I want to see games I can trust and operators who I can trust. If ECogra, software developers, and casino owners, (affs too, I guess:notworthy) don't hold themselves to a higher standard as a group, then I hope national governments with market influence (guess who? ) force the issue.

It's the only long-term answer to the problems that are continuously brought to forums like this.

Hi Scooter7:

You're absolutely correct, and as long as casinos, gamblers and affiliates are all willing to whistle in the night (or so to speak) this kind of stuff left un-checked will in fact be the un-doing of the Internet Gambling here in the states. That in turn will effectively cause an osterity (tightening up of the belt) in the industry because there will be far less money to go around with the casinos and the budget dollars that they will have been accustomed to will no longer be there and then you'll see the whole thing go to hell in a hand basket.

Have a good one.

Legally and politically, it's hard for the US to keep its citizens from gambling at foreign-owned casinos. It's already against the law, but it's hard for states to exercise any kind of jurisdiction against operators located in Gibraltar and Costa Rica. And arresting individual gamblers isn't a good idea either, for a variety of reasons.

Stopping Americans from funding offshore sites is another possibility - and that's the object of Goodlatte's bill, to my understanding. But they've already stopped us from using credit cards, and that's hardly put a dent in it. Perhaps they'll stop banks from funding Neteller. But if they do, I have confidence in casinos, that they'll find another way to get our money.

Theoretically, I suppose, they could force ISPs to block gambling sites, the way China blocks half the internet from its citizens. But that would be deeply unAmerican, and hugely unpopular, I'd guess. And anyway, nobody's even suggested it, yet.

Short of locking up Americans, for something that practically built Las Vegas, Reno, and Atlantic City - or sending the Marines into Grenada - I don't know what the US government can possibly do about it.

That is why I didn't write my congressman abt this. I wrote someone far more powerful and influential--Bryan! Go get these chumps, CM (or at least remove them from your accredited list):notworthy

Mansion's website now states:

(Please note - Blackjack, Roulette, Sic Bo and Baccarat do not count towards the wagering requirement)

on their bonus page.

Doesn't address the bad practice of holding a player to terms that aren't published on the website, though.

The terms have changed again, and like before, players are stuck with the new terms. Blackjack is ok again now but only worth 10%.

Phew, good thing I didn't wait to finish the WR. I made my deposits last night and finished the WR a few hours later. I would have been pissed if half way through I found out I now needed to play twice as much to on VP. Although maybe the single deck blackjack at a rate of 10% would actually have been a better deal than the VP was at 50%, but I haven't looked up what the house edge is on that.
