Low rolling. What is the point?

I my opinion low rolling is a waste of time. If you have say $50 a week to spend on gambling. Why not use that amount to see if your gonna win big or nothing at all. Low rolling is like prolonging the agony. I would like to know in the first few minutes whether I've won or lost. It really irritates me when i see winning screenshots and they have it on minimum bet. With those kind of wins i wouldn't bother cashing out. What do you guys think?

I set myself 100 per week and bet no less than between 2.00-5.00 bets. That usually means i gamble once a week.

Spoken like a true gambler.

Not everyone is in it just for the money. It's all relative. I've seen 600x wins on a minimum bet of .25, for example. Would they have gotten that hit if they were betting any higher in comparison to their bankroll? Probably not, because they would be broke before they hit that.

If you're going to blow through $50-100 at even $5 a spin, you're better off just writing a check to any charitable organization and not even playing, IMO.

To each his own. I like to spin so if I don't have much money then I just lowroll. I have won quite a bit of money just lowrolling along.

Everybody plays the way they like to. :)

Friday comes. Lay down $100. There are only 2 out comes. They are win or lose.
If win = cashout
If lose enjoy the rest of the weekend and get back to work on monday.:D

It doesn't always happen in the first 5 minutes.....so to put it all out there right away is stupid in my opinion. Do you just want to throw money away? Don't play then if you hate it!

good question easy answer. for alot of people, self included, it is fun to play. i know i'm not alone when i say no amount of money won online or land based is gonna change my life. my buget is considerably bigger on land. more of a "lifestyle" experience maybe. i enjoy small play online(would be bigger if the proper companies were involved) but nothing crazy. even though i'm retired i have a pretty hectic life and some fairly large responsibilites. playing is my escape. real money is key though. even if it is small. kinda like betting your buddy 10 bucks on a golf hole. just 10 bucks but it makes it more fun than a "friendly" bet. as far as cashing out? i seldom do. i like to see how long i can play on a certain amount...

I never said i hated gambling. I just limit it to once a week. I lay down $100 and its shit or bust. Monday comes get back to work and look froward to fridays flutter. Im not going to pretend i havent lost but i not going to pretend i havent won either. Ha ha contradiction ctiy!!

i like to high roll and low roll but prefer low rolling best, i did it today on a 45 cent bet, made me 180.00 on a bonus round, made some more on another bonus round and cashed out 375.00 off a 15.60 deposit, so to me its not agony, when you are enjoying yourself, may be a little time consuming but if your making money, who cares how you play......just my 45 cents worth:D.....laurie

I low roll because my budget is limited and I personally don't see the point in making a deposit and playing for 5 minutes. That's a damn expensive 5 minutes! Sure, the odd time you will get lucky and win something substantial, but that won't be the norm. Most of my $50 deposits last at least an hour, usually a LOT more, so even if I lose, I walk away knowing I at least got some entertainment value. It's a personal choice.

I don't really like seeing the screenshots at the huge bets for a few reasons - #1, they are 100% unattainable to me and #2, they make me worry about the poster as I have seen way too many people experience that "rush" and find the need for more and more of that feeling. Been there, won 5k and gambling has never been the same since. While I understand that not everyone has that problem, I suspect a few people around here do...

I have also had some pretty large wins low-rolling, a lot of the time on my last few cents. Never would have gotten that far betting larger amounts.

*shrugs* to each their own!

What do you guys think?
I agree with the others - each to their own!
If one flutter a week satisfies all your gambling urges, then you are very lucky guy!

Personally I'm a gambling addict. I wasted unimaginable 1,000's on stupid fruit machines for 20 years before discovering how to win online. One of the main keys to winning is low-rolling; being patient and waiting for that one bit of luck which will give your balance the all-important boost! Low rolling also means I can play every day without losing a fortune when I hit a bad patch.
I'm on a mission; trying to win back all those wasted 1,000's - but I know it can't be done quickly - impatience kills your bank balance. It might well take me another 20 years to get it back, but I'll keep on trying!

KK
Low-roller for life! ;)

I come from a family of gamblers and we all gamble differently. I'm a low roller I love to play and will play .20 a hand and play all day :D My older sister when we lived in Las Vegas would play 300.00 on red ( roulette ) She had the bankroll, but I still think it was nuts. My brother when playing blackjack would play 100.00 a hand, but if he played slots or video poker would play 1 coin at a time. I think when it comes to gambling the way or amount played is as personal choice as the games we play. :D

For some reason I have made $20 become $200 quite often with low rolling, the same can not be said if you multiply both numbers with 10.

Seems to me that low rolling is the way to go! I low rolled last night with $20 and sir winsalot gave me a great win there. When ending that session I had $350. Then I started incrementing bets and a little while I was upto $5 wagering, hitting the breakes at $150 doing $1-$3 for the rest depending on the game. Needless to say I crashed and burned.

I have got a few of those x100+ wins on +$5 bets, however not by far in a million as often as on $0.5 bets!

And do remember - I was no low roller earlier, my "cheapest" spin would be 0.45 just to squeeze out loosing spins. Normally doing $9 betting, even those $45 spins (which really busted my account with unlimited daily deposit limit, LOL). I have sqeezed out 10 $100 spins in sequence with $0 win! You absolutely love those, feeling pretty retarded for even trying! LOL!

So in on sentence: Low Roll - you might fuck up and win! Up the anty and you will fuck up and loose!

And finally, when you low roll - you can afford it! After all, even if I could have withdawen 350 last night, heck, it was only $20!

My best wins over the last year or so have come from low rolling.
900 + on 30p play,1200 on 50p which is about my limit.
I get a bigger kick from winning a few hunded on a small stake than I ever did
staking silly money.
You are fortunate if you can play few games a week on larger stakes then leave it win or lose although it is probably the best stratagy if you aim is to
make a profit.

I think if you are just in it for the win or lose then slots are really not the way to go.
You would be better placing your $100 on a sporting event at say Betfair where you would get much better odds.
So I think it is a contradiction to say you are in it for the win or lose and then play the slots at $2.50 a spin.
Why not just have one spin at $100 for that matter?
Good luck all the same.

Low rolling

Yeah point taken think i will give it a bash for a while see how it goes. So many of you guys and gals have said it is the way to go. You cant all be wrong! Some on said that they actually make a profit from slots. how the hell do you do that by the way?

Well for most of us mortals it is impossible (If that wasn't the case then Casinos would be out of business) but I am sure KK can direct you to his site and give you plenty of useful tips on how to try at least.
Good luck on your new low rolling ways

When i first started online gambling was nothing for me to spin at 5 10 dollars a spin. I did this for over 2 months never had a cashout just deposited. Stopped for a bit then found this site and saw some screen shots of low rollers hitting so i gave it a try. I did find those bonus rounds free spins hit a lot more on lower bets then on higher bets so it made it a lot more fun for me. Bottom line now is im not finding it fun at lower bets or higher bets so i think its time I bail for a bit.

there are some more links to my actual play logs showing precisely what I do.

Hi Lee_Bumble

I really don't think low rolling is a waste of time.....It's recreational
I mostly play video poker and I don't "low roll" But on ocassion when I am btoke and I need the action I will make a small deposit of 100 bucks and low roll(playing 5c ie 25cents per spin (Unfortunately, only RTG has 5 cents no 10 cents weird) I get a big kick out of this..But if I do get a hit you bet your bippy I will step up my bet and cross my fingers. Once I was low rolling playing Bonus Deuces wild 3 hands75cents(total / spin) and was dealt 4deuces and an Ace..That was 6000 nickels LOL 300 bucks for such a hit I was only a lurker here at that time but I sure would put the screenshot here in the bitching post
Last but not least I really love to see the enjoyment most readers here have low rolling on slots..Its great! and trust me they seem to have more fun than I do or you too.So low roill and have fun .Let your 50 bucks last you an hour or 2 instead of 5 minutes.......A movie cost 9 bucks!

Bonuses can give you an edge, such that it is possible to gain over time. Bet size has no effect on average gain for post-wager bonuses, but increases average gain (or decreases average loss) with pre-wager bonuses. So low rolling decreases average gain when bonuses are given pre-wager, but increases chance of a cashout. Instead you might try starting with high-variance bets (not low rolling) when the bonus is given pre-wager to increase EV and reduce time commitment, then choosing lower variance bets after a big win (low rolling, low variance games, etc.) to complete wagering and increase chance of making a cashout.

Haha.
I was actually being very sincere there KK and you know I have never questioned or asked to see your results.
I guess that is what I get for being a bit of wag. :D
