Low rollers (slots) - How much do you deposit and wager

I was reading the thread about problem gambling and am interested in finding out what the average person deposits. Do you deposit a certain amount daily, weekly or monthly? How much do you deposit?

I used to deposit $20 at a time but even playing small wagers (up to 50 cents) made it disappear quickly. Tried $50, but no better luck. Then I did the big one of $100 and can quite often cash out something on this, but have also lost it all because I can't help betting up to $2.25/spin.

After reading KK's strategy, I'd like to give it a whirl. So KK, can you tell us what amount you usually deposit and do you keep to the free-spins games?

Any other suggestions?

You've got to have sufficient units for the variance with slotties, and it's brutal if you want a return.

In my experience if you want decent chance at a positive return on a 3 reeler then it's 500 to 1000 units per line.

And the more lines you play, the higher the variance.

I havent really played 5 reelers seriously.
When I win the lottery I might give them a go... :D

As a dedicated low-roller and committed bonus user, my deposit level is totally dictated by the level of bonus on offer.
So with MG casinos for example, my deposit will be the maximum allowed for bonus - typically $32 - $100.

I do mostly stick to the free-spin games and follow Simmo's strategy of starting low and gradually increasing the stake until hitting the feature. Depending on bankroll, I will normally start around 2 or 4c/line and step up to a max of 10c/line. Except when I get drawn to my favourite Tomb Raider of course! Many casinos have this with 5c/line minimum, so I would start at that level and go up to 15c/line max.
I'm not saying this strategy always works - just answering your question! ;)

I must agree with some comments in the 'Problem Gambling' thread - seeing those mega screenshots really DOES tempt me to up the ante and go for a biggie! :D
I've resisted the temptation so far, but am considering risking say $100 to have a shot at one next time I get to the end of a month with a healthy profit figure!

I tend to bet between 2.25 and 4.50, with the odd 9.00 thrown in if I hit a nice win! As one of the "worst offenders" on the "Winner Screenshots" thread, I should probably add a little balance... I DEFINITELY lose as much as I win over time. Sure I get lucky every now and again, and post it up to the thread - but noone wants to see pictures of the nightmares!! (That's a different thread entirely ;))

I'll often deposit 100, and it's gone within minutes... Other days, it'll magically turn into four figures. The former happens far more often than the latter, believe me.

I've got no problem with low rollers whatsoever, in fact it's just as much fun when I'm feeling poor and playing .90p/.45p a spin! The only thing I would say is to throw in the odd 2.25 or 4.50 when you've hit a nice win! Don't play it consistently, but just click the stake button up every few spins or whatever, and you never know what might drop in just at the right time!

That's exactly what i always do too!
Usually I bet 3c/line (on 9 lines slots), playing flatbet and only when inspired hit the betmax button reaching 5c/line.
With a medium balance of 100$ i can play for hours this way.
When the "gambling demon" catches me i can reach a maximum of 2-3 dollars bet per spin (I've always lost in such cases :( ).
Few hours ago, just after reading of 10k winnings, i played LadiesNight for a while and hit the 5 scatters when betting 3c/line, a win of 135$!
I don't know yet if I'm happy or desperate!

Thanks for your responses - they really make sense. I was becoming greedy after looking at the winning screenshots, even visiting the same casinos and playing the same games. but not necessarily the same bets
I have had lucky streaks but the casinos seem to know this and for the next few deposits, the funds disappear rapidly.

I do that too. I play slots almost like a progression strategy - or like any game I know to be streaky. Slots are mostly streaky, and I adjust bets accordingly. It does work for me, higher wins and lower losses. Still doesn't mean you walk away a winner, but your bankroll lasts longer and you have more chances at hitting a big one.

Just an opinion here, nothing scientific.

Us Low rollers

I usually dep between $25.00 to $50.00. Like KK it depends on the bonus. I love the free spin slots and usually start with those to build up my bank.
I start with low bets and move the bet up as it hits. It seems that if the slot is hitting a little, but not giving out bonus rounds, you can change the bet and it will change the hits. My husband and I have starting calling this the "sweet spot" of the betting. For example: I find that ladies night likes a 36 cent bet, weather it is 1 cent and 4 coins or 2 cents and 2 coins, it depends, sometimes it likes 45 cents, and then still other times you can hit a thing.
Then there are other times, you go to a slot, and first spin gives you a hit.
When my pot gets high, I try other higher bet slots, like the lotsaloot, or wowpot, or wheel of fortune.
It does seem to me that sometimes I just can't hit no matter what I do.
Other times....can't stop hitting.
For example: I did a first dep at Piggs 50$, and got bonus of another $80.
I just kept hitting, but needed to play off the required before I could cashout.
Finally did a cash out of $75.00, leaving $25.00 to play on. This was after getting my pot up over $400.00. On the $25 I decided to play ladies, I had not been able to play it all night, had problems and couldn't get it downloaded. Anyway, Started with my usual 36 cents, hit some then bumped it up to $1.35 a bet...hit free spins.....and HIT 4 wilds on pay line!!! $900.00 payout!!!
you bet i cashed that out :)
I have a print screen I do need to post on that one!
So....yes you can hit big on low bet amounts, but if the slots are not hitting that night....they just arn't hitting.
As Dominique said...."they can be really streaky", I guess that is why I like Microgamming best, they have lots of bonus games you can try till you find one hitting.
I do try different casinos, one day...one maybe hitting, next day it's cold.

Well....that is my long winded Humble opinion. I don't think there is anything scientific about slots :)
