Live play on twitch

All I know is Twitch can be very twitchy needs some tweaking in my opion. Have no idea how it works on the back end just pick up on what other streamers say. You can always hide the hole cards with a paste over. Capture King does it to hide the autoplay button on WMS slots sometimes so chat or others can't see when the bonus is coming. Not sure how he does it but he can help you there.

I think Twitch is relatively new and will get better in time and OBS has some issues too. Other streamers should be able to give you tips on how to set it up right.:)

Yes, you or a moderator can time out or ban a user (click their name in chat). The broadcaster can also control settings in your "Channels & Videos" settings - such as auto-deleting links, restricting banned words and "require a verified email to speak"

Of course, some of the spam bots create names on the fly - only thing you can do there is to keep blocking or timing them out at the moment :(

Would people watch a game with the cards blocked out? Theres nothing to see or be involved with, pardon me if Im missing the point but maybe a delay would be a better idea in this situation.
 
I see Jason answered the chat question, As for the delay I have to go with Osulle and say 5 minutes is too much, I know some of the bigger players use that time but their is no way for microstakes it takes that long to make a decision even at a final table, The concern I can see is with disconnections and you may come close to 5 minutes.

Also don't forget their is a 20- 40 second delay between obs/ xsplit and twitch anyway.

As for obs did you get your stream key from your twitch channel? You have to enter that key into obs which is in broadcast settings along with delay option.
 
I'm going to setup a trial and error run here in a few in order to see if I've got it working just right....Since there's a 30-40 second delay in the broadcast by default, I'm going to set mine for an additional 90 seconds.

There's a great chance that I'll be playing in the Sunday special $115k guaranteed ($200+$15) (4pm EDT,) so I'll keep you posted about that, as well. If I do play it, I'll stream that, too :) I think it may do some good to be able to chat with the rail in order to stave off tilt ;)

Are you sure you hit start streaming instead of preview stream or start recording? :p Or could be another refresh your browser moment?

Did you wait the time you set for your delay? As the channel won't be live until the time you set in delay has passed.

Nah, I clicked "start streaming" as well as refreshed my browser.....


ooooops hahahaha forgot about the delay, let me wait for it and see :p

I can see this can get quite confusing. Is there a way to turn the audio off for the stream? This is broadcasting sounds of action alerts that took place 90+ seconds ago hahahaha

also, wtf? I have it setup to broadcast only one specific window, but when I go to another window, it broadcasts that one instead???? ie: my browser, etc
 
Yes it takes some time to get use too, Don't play more then 1 table more so when you are just starting out on obs. Mute your channel so you don't get the playback.:)

If you "overlap" windows on your screen whatever is on top will be shown or if you are just using 1 screen ( which is a bad idea for streaming) whatever is on your screen will be shown if you are recording the whole screen.

Or do you mean you have multiple "sources" set up in obs, whatever you don't want shown uncheck the box. :)

EDIT:

put your cursor in sources area> right click, click add source> window capture and that will let you capture part of the screen you want i.e. poker table.

Hmm, I thought that when you selected the specific window title in the drop-down box for sources, that it would only record that specific window and not that particular region....

and I only had one source setup in OBS....

If that's the case, I guess I won't be doing any multitasking during play...lol...I guess that will force me to concentrate solely on the game at hand :thumbsup:

Will find out in the next couple of hours...I'm actually doing some writing work for a poker room, and once they accept my final draft of this article, I'll be entered into it as compensation :thumbsup:

I really wish that OBS would stick to one static window instead of a specific region of the screen.....I do tend to multitask quite a bit and don't want that broadcasted....lol

I just received verification that I'm entered into the $115k guaranteed at 4pm ET (Sunday Special) and the $55 satellite (SnC - Million Dollar 10 Seats Guaranteed) which starts at 8pm ET. Hopefully I'll still be grinding along in the $115k in order to play 2 tables at once starting at 8pm ;) I'll be tweaking my OBS settings in order to play with a 60 second delay instead of 90.

I know that this is my shot at a big time cash (The biggest tournament cash I had was for around $1k from a $25 buy-in tourney some years ago by placing 3rd.. lol)....1st pays over $20k for this one, so I'm going to give it my best. I know it's going to be 1000000x tougher than the low-stakes buy-in tournaments, but hey, I think I'm good enough to at least hold my own :D

Anyways, hope to see you there :thumbsup:

Just a small update, I got a monthly bonus from Alladin's gold so that will be one of my next streams, I am a lil tight this week on time but if the family gathering is not too long Saturday I may be on Saturday evening. I was going to try and do a small stream Friday but I may have to do other things but Sunday is the main day I am looking at.

The exchange rate just got worse today and I may have to limit or not even play on RTG and other USD casino's as it is way way too expensive. I may do a small deposit with a bonus or something but I will most likely be playing my most favorite 2 slots or something.

As for the poker fans even though it's usd I may dabble into that as I have said above as a small deposit can last longer therefore more streams, Just a couple of issues I still have to sort out with software.

Hey, in case you missed it (like me,) here's the past broadcasts of the super high roller cash game @ Aria just over a couple weeks ago. This is for the true poker buff (again, like me lol) that enjoys poker at its best. Thanks to all who came out, It was not the greatest stream as the internet and flash player were acting up today and it's a million degrees outside and in this room.

Like I said this new business I hope to get set up and once I see the whole logistics of it I may be able to do prize giveaways in the near future if everything goes well.:thumbsup:
