On an average deposit, how many games do you play and what are they?
I've basically been playing GEMIX and maybe a few spins of DOA... the last few months. I'm not in the red, but am i missing out on some variety? I'm not fedup though. Is that whats most important? The enjoyment or is it not effective to just play 1 slot all the time.

What do you think? Does changing games affect hot and cold of a casino?

I used to think switching games was the key. I believed that staying on the same slot constantly would just result in a downward turn, which is funny because that's exactly what I do nowadays! I pick one of maybe five potential games and then play to the bitter end.

Still, the other day I was on a great run on a game and switched to another. When I came back to the original game it was cold as ice, undeniably different to how it played prior.

I'm starting to believe there is a fine art with slots, it all just comes to spotting the signs of when to preserve your balance and not go chasing features or a miracle. I do believe there is almost a cut-off point with each game on any given day, where no matter what you do it probably is best to switch games or come back another time.

I do think it is important to mix up one's play though initially, at least until you've found a solid selection to choose from and alternate between. I tend to go for the high- variance beasts nowadays like DOA (which I stopped for years), Georgie Porgie, Pandora's Box and most of the 9- liners like Thunderstruck. I don't touch the 243 games anymore although I loved them when I first started!

i usually feel when the casino is hot... all games are hot and when its sucking you dry, no matter how many games you switch, it is downhill. Is there anywhere where they list the games and average rtp?

I usually do small deposits and use most of it on one slot. First I decide on a slot to play, then I look at how much 100 spins on lowest bet would cost on that slot, and then I deposit that exact amount. Then if I win big I either withdraw or play a little more on another slot, usually just withdraw it though. If my balance goes low then I just lowroll on DoA until I either bust or get really lucky. :p

Variety is the one of the keys to life, routine is another one, lol.;s

The difference between routine and rut is just the enjoyment you get from it.

Have you every tried any kind of A to Z challenge? Just spin between 1 to 10 spins on a slot and move on? Or lose $5 and move on? You can open yourself up to new games, some of which you enjoy more than others.

It varies somewhat, but usually it's about 1 in 150 spins to hit a bonus round. And it won't matter that much if you take 150 spins on one slot, or one spin on 150 slots.

Mix it up a bit. I played a game the other night I hadn't played in two years, hit the jackpot a few bucks into it. It started with the letter A.

Yea i agree.... i need to change it up a little. I don't play any of the MG games that i used to before. But those bring back bad bad memories of a time where i had no withdrawals for over 6 months....

Thats exactly how it is.
The only thing that matters is if the casino "decides" that you should win today.

And then you shouldnt miss the point when all the slots (no matter what provider!) turn cold again.

Great advice
I do tend to most play the same bunch of slots (probably no more than 6-8 different ones on any given software) and only occasionally try something different. The "A-Z challenge" is a great way to find some new favourite games - though personally I think you need to aim for at least 100 spins, or get the bonus feature, to get a proper idea of what it's like.

I would say you are missing out on variety, absolutely.

BUT....

You said two very important things....you're not fed up and you're not in the red. You've got the best of two worlds there....enjoyment
and profit. I could understand why someone in that position would not want to fix something that isn't broken. Perhaps it's best for you
to stick to your normal slotting habits....for now.

The thing is...what if you did start losing? Would you suddenly get fed up too? Only you can answer that.

But if/when you do get to that point (hopefully you won't), maybe that would be the right time to start trying some other games.
And Jasminbed's suggestion is an excellent one. You never know, you might find a new favourite.

I did a complete thread on this a few months back which seemed quite popular at the time.

IIRC I called it 'Something different to try' or similar, have not got time to do ful search right now but if you dig around you'll find it :D

Videoslots and BetAt (both accredited here) have an "Hot & Cold" page for the latest RTP of most, if not all, the games.

I always play until the bonus game / free spins and change the game after that. Then of course I do what everyone else does and write down the result of every game round, the profit, the symbols that showed up, the time of day, the weather and so forth. When I'm done playing I take all this data, arrange the papers on my wall, cleared up for this purpose only, and stare at them for an hour or two looking for patterns.

Whenever I see a Hot/Cold list - I ALWAYS play the cold games.

Weird I know - but 99% I get a decent win this way, and when I try the 'Hot' I get slaughtered.

The way I see it, the hot ones have had their hot time, so the cold are due :p

It's not that weird actually. In essence it's the same principal Warren Buffet picks his stocks. ;) Undervalued slots.
Well not really since slots should be stochastically independent, but if your theory is that it paid less than it pays in average and has some "catch-up" potential... Why not.

whenever i see hot or cold list or real RTP information, i ignore them and play the slots i want to remembering i'm yet to need a Tin foil hat :)

but singing along to the Immortal Romance bonus rounds does grant bigger wins, execpt for Michaels since he has no lyrics :p

Because of this thread I decided to go and play some different slots to my usual bunch last night - and I ended up with a great result!

Started with a bank of €400 at Vera & John - but very quickly lost HALF of that on the totally shite Turd from the Unflushed Toilet
Think I had the free-spins 3 times - always crap, as usual.

Then to the similarly crap Thief: took about 200 spins to get the first lot of free-spins, which paid a reasonable bet x60-ish.
Shortly after I was a bit shocked to actually hit a decent bet x106 win in normal spins! (Shame about reel 5... :()

ThiefX106_Sep15.jpg

Got more Adrenaline spins twice afterward (one lot retriggered for 30 spins in total, but only paid bet x58)
Left the game €420 up - so bank €620 at this point.

Then I thought I would give the diabolical Sparse Warts another try, just in case it's not always total manure - but it was.
I jumped in with pretty big €2.00 to €2.80 bets as I was only planning to do a few spins - and hit a bet x10 on my second spin, then a nice bet x 57 on my eighth spin (€114.25) - so I'm thinking "this isn't so bad..."
But then it went a mind-boggling SIXTY-EIGHT empty spins - not a sausage hit
9 @ €2.00 & 59 @ €2.80 per spin - that was €183 down the tubes for ZERO return!!!!

Next I went on Wild Turkey, expecting the worst... At first it was pretty poor, taking AGES to get my first lot of free-spins - but then they started hitting very frequently (well inside 50 spins), and my 4th lot finally returned over bet x100:

Turkeyx160_Sep15.jpg

As it was going well, I doubled my bets - and fortunately the free-spins kept coming, until I got another good lot:

Turkeyx153_Sep15.jpg

This is the sort of pop-up I DON'T mind seeing!

TurkeyReminder_Sep15.jpg

My bank peaked at €1,465 - but then I threw in far too many crazy €5 bets and finally quit for the night on €1,300.
Obviously very happy with that! ;)

Now to pick some more obscure ones to try tonight...

Ok on my next deposit i am going to NOT play Gemix or DOA
I play each game max 50 spins / or change if i hit a feature before it.
Will go minimum bet though.
Feel free to suggest any games that are 0.20-0.25 bet with a chance to win over x1000 :)

I would add gorilla go wild but it's 0.30, medusa 2 and 300 shields both capable of well over 1000x

hmm thanks for the suggestions.. never tried medusa 2 so that will be fun, 300 shields seems to be very high variance which scares me since i wont have much bankroll to chase that big bonus round... maybe I should play some moolah since the jackpot is 11m

Following on from my last post, I did a couple more "rare play" NetEnt slots last night - both with positive results!

First Elements, which I actually think is a beautiful and entertaining slot to play - but like getting blood out of a stone if you want a big win :(
But it was in pretty good mood last night, giving 4 bonus rounds in about 200-ish spins at a guess: Earth, Air, Earth again and Fire.
And the Air one paid as-near-as-makes-no-difference Bet x100:

ElementsX100_Sep15.jpg

The other 3 features paid x40, x32 & x76 (on a €1.80 bet ;))
After the last one I was actually €218 up - but stupidly carried on high-betting until my profit was only €91.

Then tried Demolition Squad, jumping in with big-ish €2.80 spins: Got free-spins inside 50 pulls, which paid €165.90 ;)
Shortly after hit a x40 in normal spins off a €2.00 bet, and was €134 up at this point. But again I carried on until my overall gain was only €50.

DemoSquadX40_Sep15.jpg

Can't complain about either of those results though - had a lot of fun play-time AND made a profit!

Won't be playing tonight - going to Wembley to watch the England v Switzerland match!

oohhh will add those to my list... thanks! Looks like this thread is bringing you good luck!

After being one of only 75,000 people to witness Rooney make UK football history with my own eyes on Tuesday evening , I returned to my "rare play" NetEnt slots adventure last night with 5 more games I haven't played for AGES...

Mythic Maiden: Set off with conservative 90c spins and got free-spins within the first 100 rounds, putting me €20 up at this point.
Next another 100 spins @ 90c - no feature, but lots of large-ish wins in normal spins meant I didn't lose too much.
Decided to up bets to €2.10 (7 coins) and hit free-spins FIRST PULL! But they only paid €66.
Carried on a bit longer, and a few more good wins in normal spins allowed me to quit the game €100 up.

Wild Rockets: Started with €1.50 spins and luckily got the free-spins within 20 pulls. One big win meant a return of bet x88.
Never liked this game much though, so after only a few more spins I quit with another €100 profit!

WildRocketX88_Sep15.jpg

Silent Run: Managed to play just over 403 spins @ €1.75 and only lose the €100 I just made on Wild Rockets. This was aided by 7 lots of "Random Wilds" feature - one of which gave me a wild-line & returned bet x60, and my one and only Torpedo Feature after 264 spins, which paid bet x51.

SR5Wilds_Sep15.jpg

Zombies: I liked this game in the past - but last night it was dead and my brain went missing as I played 368 spins @ €1.40 & €2.80... Wagered €702, lost €300
Had just 1 lot of free-spins after 328 rounds, hitting jack-squit and returning a horrifying bet x7 :eek2:

Jack Hammer (1): Oh Jack! Used to be one of my favourite games back in the day - and last night I was reminded why!
Betting my usual pattern on this game: start on 1 coin and increase to 2 or even 3 coins when I feel like I am "on a roll".
Because my balance was still over €1000, this meant 5c coins; so bets of €1.25, €2.50 and a few @ €3.75...

Got 2 lots of free-spins @ €2.50 which paid medium returns and helped increase my bank by nearly €200.
Carried on, got on a run and hit 20 free-spins @ €3.75... and they were GOOD!
Bet x177 and bank over €2,000! Carried on playing back down to that round number & stopped. Profit for the evening: €640

Think I should play "Where's the Cash-Out Button?" next... :p
KK

Different casino - but another great result on another NetEnt slot I haven't played for AGES!

Despite have a healthy starting balance of £592, I started cautiously with bets of just £1 before increasing to £2 later…
Shame as I got two GREAT lots of free-spins while only betting £1… The second lot paid £74 AND gave me 3 bonus features!
Then hit a 3rd lot @ £2: paid £44 and got 1 feature. £114 UP at this point and only need 4 more souls…
Thinking I was on a roll - I did a load of £5 spins, which was a really bad mistake and I soon lost all my profit :(

But then the free-spins started hitting again after I dropped back to £2, and I hit a biggie in my 5th set of the session (see screenshot)
Got another 3 sets of free-spins before FINALLY getting the Bonus and the remaining 4 souls required for the "Sin Spins"...
They paid £128 and took my balance to £883 = £283 profit!

Since reading your post 2 months ago, I have to admit I started playing your fave game a lot and am now also a bit of a Gemixaholic!
(Not terribly surprising as I also really like Play'N'Go's Energoonz and Golden Ticket)

Gemix is a really slow burner - very low variance - but with patience and a few well timed (lucky) bet increases, you can make it pay.
Last night for instance, started with a balance of £140, ran through one cycle (9 worlds) with bets of £2, some at £5 and even a few at £10 :eek2:, and came out the other side with a balance of £790!

My 2 biggest wins didn't come off the big bets though - they were both off £2 spins. The first was a "Supercharged" win of £127, the second one wasn't even supercharged - it just gave me 13 Stars off a Crystal Warp for my biggest win EVER on this slot by miles... :D
(By multiplier).
