Just been hit with £150 a month limit on Paddy Power

Yet you could walk into say The Hippodrome in Leicester Square and literally unload your bank account via the cards in your wallet.

That said, I do understand as to why operators enforce and police loss limits. Rightly or wrongly the industry has come under major scrutiny here in the UK as a result of issues with responsible gambling. Not helped by licensed operators and their actions and inaction in the past - hence Casinomeister News is littered with stories about another 'Penalty Package' being levied on an operator by the UKGC.

Presumably Paddy Power have performed a source of wealth check on you prior to employing this monthly loss limit?

No they didn't, I simply deposited 200 pounds on my account and within a couple of minutes bang, I got an email saying 150 a month spend loss limit. And if I want to increase it I would need to send in SOW, pay slips etc

Yeah basically this is the start of the end, at least people won't be able to do their conkers now. It's a lot easier to lose more in an arcade or bookies now

Grosvenor hit me with similar (allied with a SOW request) a few weeks ago, so I hit them with a withdrawal and a goodbye. Sad to walk away from one of my longest-running accounts but they're not getting my bank statements and income information. I think not.

Tombola just sent me an email saying that they are part of Skybet,Paddy Power,Betfair Pokerstars brand and self exclusions will be carried over. I self excluded with Skybet a few years ago without realising that Pokerstars (who I used back then regularly) were part of the same group so I was involuntarily excluded from them. It looks like Tombola is next for me and once again involuntarily. Yet again the big boys have found a way to clobber us without our awareness.
F@ckin corporate world. I despise them.

mrQ did this to me, can deposit 100 a day (which i set) but they added a max of 500 loss a month, have only hit the monthly limit once.

I suspect that giving them a call or requesting a manager call you could resolve the situation alongside any requested docs? PP for me seems like one of the more reasonable bookies when compared to Coral,BillyHill and Ladbrokes who will restrict your betting amounts if you dare to get ahead.
I have played slots and use PP for most of my sports gambling for over 10 years and I can not recall them ever asking me for docs?
