Jammin Jars 2 - Collection progress reset?

I was playing Jammin Jars 2 on Casumo which has that feature collection bonus. I took a break of about 2 months and now have come back again to resume where I left off and have found that my progress is reset back to level 1.

I have checked the bet level is the same based on the history in Casumo, I have re-read the rules of the game and cant see anywhere what says the collection progress expires.

Does anyone know if this is supposed to expire?

Asked Casumo support who said:
"The progress in games is connected to cookies and cache, if you clear that, the progress is no longer saved on the device so when you load the game, the browser does not find any progress"

This is not correct, surely?!

That does not sound correct.
Surely the progress is saved by the casino/provider, not the player.
If it was checking your cookies for progress on the slot you would be able to just edit the cookies saved on your computer to instantly max out the collect feature, and that does not seem very likely.

Im just guessing of course, but my guess is that the support person you talked to does not know how it works.

Agree with the Bear no way is it connected to Cookies and Cache
Im pretty sure support got it all wrong

I played JJ2 around xmas time and completed about 60% of that collection type bonus.. haven't played it since, but just had a look and its still there for me. So i can't really say what's happened there.

The support agent was nice and after a bit more chat has agreed to raise a more formal case for investigation. I thought it sounded wrong and appreciate the sanity check from Meisters.

One thing I have noticed that when I look at my history in Casumo it lists all games via their game title but or Jammin Jars 2 it is formatted like this:

pushgaming-jammin_jars_2

Rather than "Jammin Jars 2".

I wonder if they have deployed some other version of the game or something that is not the same as the one I played before.

Will update the thread when I hear more from investigation.

This line cannot possibly be correct.

Any saving game be it with push gaming, btg whoever is saved by the provider to that specific casino. If it was otherwise then you could never log in from another device to carry on where you left off.

For example I'm level 4 on a wild swarm playing on desk top. I stop. The next day I carry on my phone. Same casino just different device and it will pick up where I left off. Level 4. Not back at 2 or whatever.

Ok well this has got a little interesting. So I have received an email from Casumo management saying that the bonus progression has been reset and cannot be re-instated.

The TLDR of the email is:

"The game has been updated, the bonus progress has been reset, our T&C's say we are not responsible, we are offering £30 bonus funds as good will gesture".

I estimate I played about ~1000+ spins at 0.20 stake on JJ2. Really would appreciate Meisters thoughts on this kind of situation. It seems these progression games are dangerous and there is nothing that compels Casino's to maintain progress. This is complicated more with JJ2 where the RTP changes the more you play.

Here are some extracts from the email:
-----------------------------------------

Unfortunately, this progression cannot be reinstated, due to a change of format resulting in an amendment in the game license.

While this loss of a possible bonus is obviously disappointing for players like yourself, Casumo, as per its terms and conditions, cannot take responsibility for any amendments to games hosted on our site ( as detailed in articles 12.7 and 12.8 :12.7 The Company shall accept no liability for any damages or losses which are deemed or alleged to have arisen out of or in connection with the Website or its content; including without limitation, delays or interruptions in operation or transmission, loss or corruption of data, communication or lines failure, any person’s misuse of the Website or its content or any errors or omissions in content.
12.8 We endeavor to ensure that the Website is available twenty-four (24) hours a day, however, it shall not be held liable if for any reason the Website is unavailable at any time or for any period. We may remove any Game from the Website at any time we see fit and we reserve the right to make changes or amendments, to alter, suspend or discontinue any of the content, products or services )

We do want you to understand that despite this unfortunate circumstance which is out of our control, (ie Casumo's lack of liability for a game that has had its bonus feature amended, removing the potential for a possible bonus win) we have reassessed your concern, and as a gesture to thank you for your continued custom, we would like to make a once-off goodwill gesture of £30 in bonus funds to add to your account.

Reached the end of the feature 3 times and I would have been gutted if it had reset near the top, think a reasonable
compensation should be a minimum of 500 x ,knowing the amount of cash and time it takes.
Why do CS always use the cache excuse for any problem they dont know the answer to.

Performance targets? Especially when outsourced, the agreement maybe is X calls resolved in X minutes so, rather than actually check etc, they just roll out 1-5 solutions off top of their heads and hope one works, whilst being on target.

Or, they just simply don't know.

It does work on some occasions but with the OP's issue that was never going to be the cause.

Worst is still Grosvenor: it takes them 3 weeks to reply and even then, not relevant to the actual question asked.

Amazing how indifferent companies are to this, and the money invested by players into their Ponzi collect games, yet they 'manage' to follow your sessions on any other device at any other casino like a bad smell, letting you resume right where you left it prior 🤔

No, there is nothing I'm afraid that makes Push or any other developer maintain any collection status.

All developers do it, not just Push. I'm no expert but it would'nt be hard to transfer the data across I don't think, just a case of oh, here's another opportunity to stiff the customer in favour of the company and casino.

Luckily for me, after playing JJ2 and realising that the chances of triggering the GigaJar is way out of context with the rest of the game, I don't bother with it.

I have a few Wild Swarms built up at different casinos though, which will be lost during the migration I imagine.

this happened to me on furballs at vs, the annoying thing there is the more progress you have on furballs the higher the rtp of the game, it starts at 84%(!) and reaches 97% after all progress is made but it takes a very long time and a lot of spins, wont be doing it again.

This MIGHT depend on whether it is true persistence (where progress actually matters) or perceived persistence (where it doesn't, like WIld Swarm)
