The cheques may have been Canadian, but were they in Canadian dollars? It's possible to have a Canadian cheque drawn in US Dollars....or any other currency for that matter.
Someone needs to post a scan of one of these cheques so we can see the currency. No way will a bank take a cheque in CAD and credit you the same amount in USD.....they would be losing 4% of the value of every cheque. The currency must be converted to its equivalent in USD.
I wonder whether stovetopp may have received an erroneous cheque I.e. it was printed as CAD instead of USD. It may have been a mistake by the processor...??
All I know is that currency is ALWAYS converted at the bank rate and NEVER 1:1 (unless the currencies involved are equal which is unlikely).
It may have been an error because Yasmeen was surprised when I told her it was CD dollars. Unfortunately, I did not even look at the check. Prior to this month ,I was depositing checks almost weekly so just took it for granted it was okay.
I tried to get an image of the check but said on line that it was "processing" so I would have to wait 48 hours. Yasmeen will also check with the bank.
If this was indeed a bank error I must apologize for causing all this stir but MUST blame the person at JC who told me it has been a polcy to use CD banks and that the funds would be in CDN currency which I didnt mind if they had converted my dollars . Will let you know as soon as resolved
I think I have been one of the first person on this forum to play at JC which was long long ago when they werent even credited. I t would be nice if after a policy change they could at least
ask us to review by way of that message box inthe casino. Else one would have to ck each day
to see if any changes. I think this happened when they changed their WR from 20 times to 30 timeS D+B t
