It's Responsible Gambling Week!

The biggest load of BS.

As someone who quit a life-long gambling addiction just recently, the behaviour of the casinos during this newfangled term is hilarious.

Without a doubt, one of the most refreshing things about using the legally obligated gambling inhibiting tools is that you no longer get emails enticing you to deposit.

That was until this week.. "Responsible Gambling Week", When every lucky-magic-red-bullshit casino decides to email me to highlight the importance of Responsible Gambling with a convenient link to their site.

I was doing just fine until this week...

This is nothing more than an attempt to get around the law regarding emailing excluded players.

Even though I quit gambling, I still consider myself a "gambling addict". The only thing that stops me from depositing is my loathing for the entire industry and this example only further enforced that feeling...

I understand that there may be people who are thinking about quitting or lowering their limits and for that, the RGW is a good thing. But we all know it's a load of BS and the casino doesn't really care or want you to stop playing.

Use that as true motivation to stop playing.

I agree, just a load of pretentious tommyrot

Every second of every day should be responsible gambling. The concept makes no sense.

To be fair, I only got emails from 4 casinos explaining the importance of gambling responsibility and an link to their site to get a bonus up to and including but not limited to 10 free spins.

I guess people wonder why someone like me who has quit continues to visit this site. Truth be told, you guys are just awesome...

And your post makes a lot of sense

Suppose the industry really did want to support a responsible gambling week....they could limit betsizes, limit deposit sizes, limit turnover etc.

Or.....send out some bullshit emails to people who a.) Don't have a problem and so couldn't care less or b.) People who do have a problem and will simply ignore it.

I hate all this drivel, we have fairly apt RG tools 365 days of the year, so for companies to partake in this through gritted teeth is just laughable.

Please no one say they're really on board with the idea of reminding customers to gamble less at their casinos, lest my sides split :D

Try telling those American gambling addicts...er... professional slot machine players on YouTube to “gamble responsibly”.

What really bothers me is that many have the need to title their videos with capital letters and lame attempts at humour. You’re not playing Minecraft or Fortnite. You’re in a casino. Many of them are middle-aged, which makes them look even sadder. “OMG! KITTIES CAME THROUGH AFTER LOSING $2K. SUPER BIG WIN!!” Just pathetic, which is why I’ve unsubscribed from so many channels.

Great thread
For me I hit the Red Button "Gamstop" 15 Minutes ago and it wasn't because it was out of control,if I spent £160 per month which was more than affordable for me
What brought me to the decision was the sheer predictable out come and the grind to get to that out come.
gamble aware week what a fucking joke just happens 1 week after the government deferred the Min cap on FOBTs for 6 months.

The whole industry is full of hypocrisy it is a joke. If people want to gamble they will. I have seen it in bookmakers where someone is having a bad day and a member of staff who doesn’t want to lose a customer searches for the right format to appease them but keep them long term. It only tilts the player even more as when you are in that frame of mind the last thing you want is somebody patronising you. Gamblers only hurt themselves. The government ought to be focusing more effort and getting tougher with drink driving and remove these idiots from the road. It’s ridiculous judges can now rule that offenders with 12 points can keep their license if removing it will bring hardship on the family. It was published in the local paper one offender currently still driving has accumulated 54 points. If that’s not disgraceful what is.

Money talks it's them "bookies/government " lining each other's pockets and as for the Gambling commission they are as useful as the FCA constantly siding With the bookies/banks they are suppose to be regulating.

22 hours on from me hitting GameStop all my casino accounts have been restricted that's fast 6 months of not having to charge my phone 3 times daily lol

At least a minister had the guts to make a stand on the fobt defferment,Mays reaction was that she was being kind by allowing the
new stakes to be introduced in oct 2019 as it could has been delayed till 2020.Another 1.2 billion going into the pockets of the taxman
bookies and shareholders before it actually happens, They really have no shame
