Is Moonshine bonus feature rigged?

I've had some good wins on new slot Moonshine, but not off the bonus free-spins feature.
I have had the feature about 7-8 times, but I have never managed to pick more than 5 squares before getting 'Start Free Spins'. Most times it was my 3rd or 4th pick.
This does not seem random to me - how can I hit this one square out of 21 so easily?

I'd like to hear how other people have done on these picks?

I guess the real question would be how many of those are there out of 21...could get more of a sense of it with that information :)

There are two "Start Free Spins" squares out of 21. I have at least twice managed to pick 16 squares before hitting a "Start Free Spins" square.

This doesn't answer whether the bonus rounds are fixed or not - but does show that you can pick more than 5-8 squares... LOL... I have also hit "Start Free Spins" on the first pick more than a few times...

Moonshine is the only one of the new games in recent months that I could like -- but...

I have had the feature about 7-8 times, but I have never managed to pick more than 5 squares before getting 'Start Free Spins'. Most times it was my 3rd or 4th pick.

I've had the feature much more often than that this week, and I chose the Start Free Spins button on the first or second pick 8 of last 10 bonus rounds. Once, I managed to pick the majority of the tiles for additional free spins, but didn't hit additional multiplier tiles -- so a lot of free spins at 1x suck, too. The last bonus round I hit, off a 75 cent bet, I managed something like 6 free spins w/1x multiplier and won a glorious 63 cents. I just never do well on games where I have to pick among 'random' tiles. Yes, I take it personally. LOL The games hate me.

Are they rigged? They are certainly set up to earn the casino a certain percentage over their lifetime. And if they deliberately designed the game to be frustrating for the player (me) they have succeeded. I won't be playing it anymore except for blowing the few odd left over cents at the end of a losing session.

I've run the gamut from choosing Start Free Spins on the 1st pick to 8 free spins at 4x over the course of about 10 bonuses. I'm usually playing pennies and I sorta recall winning about 4000 coins once, but not on the 8x4 which was a disappointing 450 or so.

I can't comment on MoonShine but I feel that most of the MG bonus slots are tight lately. This isn't based on one or two MG casinos either, it's seems to be my general run lately. Crappy bonus rounds no matter what I play. Tell me who gets 5x15 free spins consectively @ .45cents a spin and is lucky to break $30 bucks or so of wins from it.

I've given up playing Katmandu or whatever it's name is after it wipped the floor with me last week. No shit 500 spins and not one feature.

Even my fav Spring Break & Ladies Night is tight.

Hey Mr Casino can you flick that switch back on

Thanks

I didn't think the game ever paid out anything until I got a bonus round paying over $240.00 on a 1 dollar bet.

I really thought I was going to love Moonshine and in the beginning I did. Entered the slotjunkies tournament with a great run and got to first place and then got knocked out to second. But that win of $205 @ $1.25 was the all time best and it has been crap ever since! In the bonus round I hardley ever get a second multiplier and maybe get 4-6 extra spins. It's just like all the other games MG has come out with lately; the first week or two they behave and then you can forget it. Oh...except for Isis...it's never been good!!

I didn't know that 32Red was sponsoring Moonshine this month, so when I hit I didn't get a screenshot. I'm trying to find it in Playcheck, and it easily put me in 1st place.

Tim5ny the minimum bet is 1.25. Whewww I thought I had really opened mouth and inserted one big fat foot! I am counting on that second place win to even get a shot at playing next month. MG has not been kind to me this month.

Sheesh! I did it again! Always .25 cents short. Maybe I should read the rules! Good luck to ya!

This one would have taken the prize!

You are right about that...that was a great hit! Were you the one that did the same thing with Harveys last month? That would totally suck to miss it twice by .25 :eek2: But on the bright side be happy that you played it and won something substantial before it went south. Lately I haven't been able to get squat.

Yep - it IS rigged

OK - I did an experiment in 'Free Money' mode (see below).

First, Spear is right - there are TWO start squares (I thought it was only 1), but we were both wrong - there are only 18 squares in total, not 21.

12 feature games:-
Pick 'Start Free Spins' on first go; Odds 1 in 9 - result: 4 in 12 (3 in 9)

Conclusion: It IS rigged (i.e. Not random)

However, I did get lots of features (12 in about 1.5 hours: one every 59 spins), and some paid very well!

So despite the feature being 'rigged', it is still quite a good slot to play!

The screenshot is of my first feature....

Re

Interesting statistics here, but I have found all these coin based MG slots are all make or break on whether you hit the bonus round.
The best bonus rounds are ones where at least if you pick wrong you will still get paid a reasonable amount. A good example is hitting 3 amber fossils on Dinomight, most times on this I hit the x2 and one on 2000.
Jungle Jim is a typical game where no matter which croc I pick it always seems to be low free spins and a good multiplyer or say 10 free spins and a x1multiplyer!

A great 3 reel slot I like is peek-a-boo, many a time on £1.25 I have played this for 4 or 5 spins and hit £75 and a £100

I won't play moonshine, Katmandu or loaded now as these really do drain your bankroll when the all important 3 spins are not hit. Harveys and Dinomight I rate as the better new MG slots.

These are truly bad investments for the money in my opinion. The payback for $1.80 bet on Katmandu for 5 wilds which I hit was $60.00 during the BONUS round with 1x multiplier of course. Whats up with that? (got a screenshot too of it!) You would think it would pay at least a few hundred...ahh well...

Loaded is fairly good to me whenever I am down on funds. I find under $2.50 a spin always hits a bonus round. Anything above that sux you dry.

Moonshine is purely for fun. No way you can make a decent win for a $1.25 a spin. Very poor return.

Harvey's is another slot I will not play above $2.50 and have hit the bonus feature many times, but try max bet and you lose it all in a blink of an eye.

Isis is a no brainer....no one with a brain will play this for a profit unless you have a HUGE bankroll to get you through then the win isn't even big enough to cover your losses...play max bet and you will go broke quicker than a speeding bullet. I usually play this for a $1.25 a spin for a few dollars just to "test" it and hope to get lucky..then run...

Definitely hoping any new games are just a tad better on the return for investment..lol..and I know the world is flat! I just know it!

A fair point, but although it is only small it 100% confirmed the impression I got from much longer sessions.

Another way to analyze my stats above, I had 40 picks in total:-

Start Free Spins: Theoretical probability = 1 in 9. Actual 12 in 40 = 2.70 in 9.
Payout Multiplier: Theoretical probability = 1 in 6. Actual 2 in 40 = 0.30 in 6.

To me, those figures are hugely not random.

Maybe someone else would like to provide some more data to counter / back up my findings...?

My $242.00 bonus round at $1.00 bet was pretty decent I think.

While I agree the feature wins on this slot generally are not large, this is not always the case. I have played many times and hit the feature consistently and never hit the "Start free Spins" block right off the bat. When this slot is paying I usually come away with 30.00 - 50.00 feature rounds on a 0.01 x 25 bet, which agreed is not a huge return but hitting these consistently adds up pretty quick. I have also had very good luck with the block selection recently reaching the 4X mulitiplier and most of the time getting to the 8 spin level or above. But it is not always good news as I have experienced some of the poor feature rounds mentioned by KasinoKing as well. I find myself visiting this slot when I have hit the wall on some of the others and sometimes have been able to build back my bankroll enough to move back to some of the other slots with the higher payouts.

Like all the rest, fun when your winning. Sucks when you're not. :D

Those probability figures are incorrect.

Every pick increases the probability that something else will be picked, except of course for the item picked which would then decrease in probability.

Example for one bonus round:

1st pick = 1 Free Spin (actual probability 13/18)
After 1st pick, the probability of the next pick is:
Free spin - 12/17
Multiplier - 3/17 (as opposed to 3/18 or 1/6)
Start Spins - 2/17 (as opposed to 2/18 or 1/9).

Each subsequent pick changes the probabilities again - so you cannot sum all of the picks using the starting probability figure.

I don't know how your 40 picks were spread throughout each bonus round so I can't interpret any further than that - perhaps you would like to post the actual results of each bonus round?

Actually, there is one thing I can definitely glean from your numbers - you had 12 bonus rounds. This is because you are guaranteed to pick exactly one "Start Free Spins" per round.

Duh... LOL...

I'll leave the mathheads to that for now. Probability isn't exactly my strong point... but I agree that your short session there wasn't all that great. My best to date is 15 spins at 3x - only missed out 1 free spin and 1 multiplier :) Or, 13 spins at 4x...

Hi guys! I'm new here and I love this forum! I hit on Isis for $5000 on one hit during the free spins. I got 2 Isis symbols and three eyes. I was betting max bet at 2 cents so $5.00 aspin. Did i cash out? Of course not! I havent hit much on that since. as far as Moonshine goes, I get the bonus fairly frequently and I have to say its pretty much 50/50 as far as picking the start free spins tile first or second and being able to get 10 or more spins times 3 or 4. But I have to say i almost always get 4 scattered cops for a large win at least once during the bonus. I have always been very lucky with gambling but I always keep playing or reverse my cash in. Such is my gambling life!;)

I've noticed alot of scatters in free spins too - another indication that the bonus is not truely random...

BTW, welcome to the forum! Stick around and will teach you how to hit the cash-out button & become a profitable gambler!
