Was this from Amaya Gaming, Perc?

Frustrating that there is again no reason given for this Canadian ban.

Just saw this myself... not looking great for online gambling in Canada at the moment.
Not looking great for Intercasino either... :(
They were once the best casino in the world (pre George W Bush) - and my personal favourite too; I played there virtually every day!
Now they are so minor I'm even thinking of dropping them from my websites because no players seem to want to try them any more.
IMHO I can't see them lasting much longer. Very sad.

Yeah, for me the turning point was the closure of the crypto poker network (which was one of my favourites) - after that things started to go downhill generally for cryptologic.

Shame really.

10 years ago I believe they were the number one casino. To be honest I almost forgot they still exist. It's been years since I played there. Their software always felt 5-7 years behind the times.

I also miss the CryptoLogic poker software. I had the most fun playing there as it was simple and fast. I loved the layout and to me it was visually appealing. I have never really found another poker software I enjoy and therefore I gave up looking.

I'd say 'bummer' since I used to deposit there, but then, these days, no real loss.
Last maybe 10 times I went there to look at games and considered depositing, games didn't open. Also their 'bonus for life' was 'bonus whenever we remember to email you something, usually 25%'

Definitely downhill for Inter since they removed their download software.
A lot of good games disappeared overnight.

With this potential news, figured it was as good a time as any to cash in some player points, play til I hit a nice even number and cash out. Will see what happens.

Really unfortunate that the online gambling situation in Canada seems to be deteriorating with seemingly little reason.

I was a little sad to get that mail actually - Intercasino was one of the first casinos that I played so it was a bit of history for me. I wasn't playing there as much as I used to, but would still give it a go once in awhile.

God, hope I don't have to take up, say, knitting

I'm just surprised someone said they were going to pull out and actually did it.

The next phrase after that is usually "Oooooh. Please tell me you're on the pill."

Online Casinos

The majority of Canadians voted for Harper last election. His views are against online gambling, even though the banks are for online gambling.

Online gambling in Canada in the future, could be a provincial issue and not a national issue. We're so influenced by American laws and positions, that those current positions on online gambling could easily come our way.

If you want the freedom to gamble online, I encourage you to vote Liberal, NDP, and not for a right wing leaning party like the Bloc or Conservative Party and even Green Party.

The Harper government makes agreements with software companies like IGT, so Canadians can't gamble at
casinos that are affiliated with that company.

So keep this in mind and your friends in mine, when the elections take place in the next few years across Canada, to vote more middle of the political spectrum and not the right side.

We're a young country compared to other G 8 countries, and if we can gamble with those countries people, it can benefit us.

It seems the US banks treat Canada as a high risk country, hardly friendly. This seems most evident when it comes to US players trying to bank checks from Canadian banks. Many banks just refuse to cash them, check cashing places won't touch them, and it takes 2 months for a US bank to realise a Canadian check is bad, and then they punish the account holder because they trusted a company that wrote them a check on a Canadian bank. If the US treats Canada in such a hostile manner, why on earth are the Canadian government trying to suck up to the US politicians by emulating their ways?

Right wing or not, the Canadian government should do what is best for Canada, rather than what the US would prefer they do in support of US policies. (Same goes for the UK government, they too seem overly keen on this "special relationship").
