Ok, I know this may sound petty but YOU KNOW I play at this casino ALL the time and have spent much money there and they never even acknowledged my birthday not even with a simple email! Yet, MOST every other casino that I have played at besides CW they have not either, whom I have deposited a few times but waiting for better w/d methods from them but now rethinking them too, has sent me an email and some even a birthday bonus even when I never even deposited with them but now I will be because I think that was classy of them! Like it's going to kill these casinos to acknowledge one day a year and give a bonus! To all the casinos that I have played at and you didn't even have the CLASS to send an email and inetbet all the money I spend with you this is just UNACCEPTABLE, I am HIGHLY disappointed and will be rethinking where I spend my money at and to the ones that credited my account with a birthday bonus (Jackpot Capital being one of them) expect more play from me at your casino and I thank you!! Ok, I am done with my rant thanks for listening!

After emailing inetbet with my frustration they wrote back saying...

"We do not actually have this type of program implemented at present.
However we have spoken to management and a little something has been applied to help you celebrate.
We hope that you had a great birthday."

I think they need to implement one at least an email if nothing else BEFORE you have to email them first! But, thank you inetbet, least you gave me something after you were informed.

I don't understand where players think theyare entitled to a birthday bonus or a card

they are a buisness my electric company or cable mortage etc none send me a birthday card nor well you just skip paying $100 this month

probably just me ....... but.....

Cindy

Totally agree Cindy

We all like to receive these bonuses, but casinos are under no obligation to do so.

I look at it this way. If I receive an email saying a gift has been placed in my account, I'm quite happy about it. No matter how big or small it may be.

But if I just get an email wishing me a happy birthday, I'll probably think 'what? no bonus?' and it will annoy me. Personally, I don't open up my inbox on that day in December and hope to see endless bonuses waiting for me. I appreciate what I've got and don't moan about what I haven't.

I can understand where you are coming from though Lisa10xxx. To not get recognition at a casino you frequently play at must be disappointing.

But as a general note to everyone, you shouldn't expect to receive these. It will make the experience much worse if you are expecting something that doesn't come.

I don't think a bonus is ENTITLED but I do think an acknowledgment AT LEAST for all the time and MONEY spent at their casino would be nice. And actually, when casinos on their own send HB bonuses without asking they START an expectation themselves so on that point alone maybe, I was expecting, since I had received one last year from inetbet! And YES, bonuses at times like COMPS are given in land based casinos for all your money spent. It is the PRINCIPLE of the matter, when other casinos are sending emails to you saying Happy Birthday I would THINK the casino you spend the most time and money at would be one of those, so it hit home when they were not. I think you missed the point!

I agree totally with this. I am actually going overnight for my birthday to Dover Downs in the morning because I was comped $425 cash play, free room, dinner , champagne and a show for my birthday. There is no beating land based casinos. I play once every two to three months and thats it but yet, I get this great "perks also called comps...

I, too was surprised when I did not get a birthday bonus but got a $20 manager bonus a week later (it was appreciated but was reduced by over 250% from my last managers bonus and don't know why).

you shouldn't expect to receive these
Of course you should IMO. You are the one keeping them in business and giving them your money for nothing. Once in a while you will pop a good one to withdraw but they get that back too..it's like a one way bank...you get interest once in a while but never get the initial deposits..

This is comparing apples to oranges...Gas company gives you heat, hot water for payment, electrical company gives you power and electric for payment...what does the casino give for numerous payments????

I get a birthday card from my insurance man, my mortgage company and a few others...so yes, it is nice to get recognition for an important day in your life and if there is a little "perk" with it...all the better!

.

Surely the issue though, as was the case here, is if we do expect to receive these bonuses, when they don't come, it provokes a different and negative response.

Personally, I think it is much better to be surprised at what does come, than just expecting it. These bonuses are similar to ones we get at work. Everyone expects on them, and relies on receiving them. I don't think this is right. Simply because it is a bonus.

I guess because of that, I view these bonuses in the same way.

I'm curious though. I've read numerous times about B&M casinos giving comps and other perks to people. I have NEVER experienced this in the UK. Is is only an international (i.e. US) thing?

Good question! I am in the USA so I get these from different casinos...I was offered 2 rooms for 2nights, dinner for 6 during the weekend for my sons bachelor party at The Borgata for the end of this May 2009 and I haven't been to that casino in 2 YEARS!

Ok, you wordly traveling people..do casinos in other countries do this comp stuff for players???

.

Perhaps a lurking mod can move this into its own thread?

I'm amazed at what they've given you! I'm a member at a couple of private casinos over here (i.e. not chain owned) and as well as paying a sign up and annual membership fee, I've never been given anything!

Others have also said about receiving cashback etc. That's another thing I don't understand. Do these casinos some way have a record of your play?

well we have the right to agree to disagree ;)
I didn't miss any point you wanted a freebie for your birthday an they didnt send it so now you are ranting about it
which is cool some people expect these things

as for B&M's they treat people entirely different you cant even compare them

The casino gives you entertainment for your dollars and occasionally a win, hopefully. And if it isn't entertaining, then you shouldn't play. It is that simple. Oh yeah, if you win, do you think it would be right for the casino to "expect" a percentage back as a thank you for allowing you to win? I suspect not. :p

I have to agree with Jod, its for entertainment, that we play online and there is no way to compare the perks of a B/M to a online casino, when being comped for play or birthdays imo, im happy when they do remember my birthday, as i kinda like to forget it, it gets that way when you cross over the 40 mark:D....oh!!!!!!!! to be 29 again and again and again;).........Happy Birthday Lisa:)...............laurie

Thanks to all that wished me a Happy Birthday! This is the whole point of course I was expecting bonus when I recieved it the year before without notice! I don't think I was wrong for that, as any player at a land based casino like myself that plays for high stakes ALWAYS gets comped and treated WELL I think the online casinos should do the same! When players are content with spending much money and getting no appreciation back for their patronage is when the casions take advantage. I guess only the ones spending big money understand this, I don't know?

Not at all. They are always in the business of customer relations. Whether they know it or not the fact that they get paid depends on customers.

No customers then what, twiddle your thumbs till a fish arrives to give you a deposit?

keep your customers happy!!!

Or else get a bailout. Oops, the bailout is self induced, don't pay anyone until you get solvent. Then give your employee's million dollar bonus's.

I expect a birthday gift from a well oiled machine like casino's are supposed to be.

The only one I got was from 3Dice.

$25

I won $960 dollars and cashed most of it.

Its in the winners screenshots, Happy valley was a great Bday!

Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Catrina,

Glad to know others feel the same as me! It does feel good when they appreciate your business! If nothing else it is GOOD MARKETING!

With the way that most casino's have turned their back on the USA players an also the Canadians they see that we are gonna play no matter what so that is why they dont give out the freebies like they used too cause they know we are gonna play anyways

you dont have to spend big money to understand what it is you are saying

Cindy:)

Cindy,

I'm glad you understand what I am saying, and I agree with you the casinos have turned their backs on many and I am taking notes of just which ones so when we Americans are free to deposit and play with no worries I WON'T play at their casinos! :)

Hey Lisa, nice to meet you and Happy Birthday! mines tommorrow! I felt compelled to reply cause I know where your coming from. I have been playing for yrs and I used to get bday bonus' all the time then last yr..I didn't get a one. I agree that a casino does not owe you any kind of bday bonus. But I have to admit, when my bday rolled around, I anticipated going to my inbox and see if I could play a little that day! I was hurt, and then realized I hadn't been playing and depositing as often as I used to, and got wondering if that was why? I did get a couple wishes last yr and a bonus 'offer' but the yr before that I remember getting $20 here and $25 at another etc. When I got these gifts I was thrilled! So yes you kinda anticipate that around your bday you will be remembered for your loyalty for the yr. I too was curious why one yr and none the next. And too, we can forget what it's like to be forgotten on your bday, when yours comes around, you remember how a small gesture can make a big difference..I don't know maybe the casinos used to do it and stopped? Could be that there are so many players nowadays that they can't possibly do it for everyone and if they do for one they would feel compelled to do it for another. Or if one player gets a bonus and then another players bday rolls around, and that player doesn't get one they might say wtf? So maybe that's the reason they don't do it anymore? Well anyway, I'll see tommorrow!! Have a great birthday and good luck! Take care
Patrina

Hey Lisa, nice to meet you and Happy Birthday! mines tommorrow! I felt compelled to reply cause I know where your coming from.

Hi Patrina,

Nice to meet you and thank you for the BD wish! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you as well may you get everything you want and more!! I think like Cindy said many casinos have given up on USA and other countries so I don't think they really care, they figure we will play anyway. But they have it wrong with me, I WON'T. I would rather give to land based casinos than be treated like crap. Playtech casinos were really good for comp bonuses, after you lost so much they would comp your account something, usually it was 20-25.00. and every playtech casino I was a member of on my BD I would have a bonus credited in my account! I would be playing all day on the bonuses alone, and you know what? I played at ONLY those casinos that appreciated me. Some RTG casinos are starting to get this message but they still have yet to NOT have restrictions on bonus money. Anyway, good luck on your casino adventures and have a wonderful Birthday!! :)

The VPL group really ticket me off on my birthday last month (2/11) by not even acknowledging my birthday. I could care less about a special bonus or free chip, but get real...they have all of our information, but yet can't even send a "Happy Birthday" email? Hell, even the forum software here at CM spits out an automated birthday email, but yet the casino can't do this automatically, as well?

When I complained about it, they didn't even take responsibility for their actions, but to "justify" it, they told me that I hadn't deposited enough (wtf?!?) to even be considered for a birthday bonus. They didn't even have the decency to apologize for not sending me as much as a greeting.

As far as not depositing enough, they're full of it. Between November and the time of my birthday, I had deposited over $2500 across their poker room and casino. I guess that doesn't count as being a loyal player?

Needless to say, they won't get another penny from me.

Oh yeah, if you win, do you think it would be right for the casino to "expect" a percentage back as a thank you for allowing you to win? I suspect not.

Doesn't the casino do just that off a bonus win??

some deduct the bonus an some dont go figure as to why they do what they do?
I mean you can play with the bonus money to meet wagering requirements then when you finally reach that mark an goe YESSSS hit withdraw an damn if they didnt take the bonus away from the withdraw

I prefer no bonus at all that way I can take my win an run
run like the wind instead of the chain around my ankle meeting the wagering req. lol yeah I hear yas now I love a bonus thats cool too like I said some where
we can agree to disagree

BTW Happy Birthday hope ya have many more an Good Luck

Cindy

Well i know CW and iNetBet don't send any b-day wishes....but.....When mine comes around........i send an email and ask if they have b-day bonuses still. They always send an email right back wishing a Happy B-Day and put a pretty nice comp. into my account....It usually doesn't have a playthrough att. either....They are actually the only 2 that give anything of late besides a card....

Totally agree Cindy

We all like to receive these bonuses, but casinos are under no obligation to do so.

We all have to pay the utilities, they will stay in business regardless, and the service they provide will be missed ( water, heat or air conditioning, sewage or garbage disposal)

We do not have to gamble. If I were banned at all casinos today it would probably be alright. Its a luxury, that if we all were to admit it we could do without and be better off.

Just my opinion.

We should not be hoping the utility company should send a birthday card but we should expect one from someone who depends on a whim (gambling) for their existence.

Customer service should be #1 in any online casino's priority.
