I have been critical of Absolute in the past. Their customer service was terrible, broken promises, and at the end of it all the cheating scandal. Absolute was a shady run poker room not to be trusted.

I played mainly limit before the scandal, and I have played quite a bit afterwards. The customer service has drastically improved from what I have experienced recently. They have been prompt, professional, and always adhear to my requests in disputes. Absolute said that they would clean up their act and I think they have lived up to this promise.

I urge people to give Absolute another try and I think you will be happy with the result.

P.S. no i'm not a shill and if you check my history you will see I have made negative posts about Absolute in the past. But I think a lot of people who are speaking negatively now have not played at Absolute in some time.

Did you have to post that in order to get paid?

But seriously, no offense, but I'll wait till another 100 players come forward with the same viewpoint before even considering re-opening my account there.

This is the same place that had me run around and change the name and country for a WU transfer 3 different times and make it seem as if I was a criminal or just plain retarded to the WU folks because I kept changing the receiver's information.

Finally I said F IT and cancelled the WU transfer, thus EATING $20 in WU fees. Not only that, but I had to joyfully wait a full week while VISA had the WU funds on hold because they had to reverse the charges back to the card.

They offered me a BONUS OF $20 for my troubles, which I COULD NOT RELEASE BECAUSE I COULDN'T DEPOSIT, so I told them to close my account.

Not to mention all of the other BS they've got going on right now.

Sometimes we give businesses and people second chances when they screw up.

What happened at AP was a lot more than just some screw up. It was a MAJOR, I'll screw my customers and then I'll lie and try to cover my ass - screw up.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!

I'm with BB28 here - too many lies, too many questions left unanswered, and now we have the UltimateBet scandal building....

Try a few hundred hands of Blackjack here & lemme know if you still think so.

:)

Have you had you're results looked at? I actually am not allowed to play blackjack there anymore because I use epassporte. But I would stay away from online blackjack anywhere for more reasons than one.

I love the carnage and watching the decline in the numbers of the table players.
I do love the 10$ a month the throw in to keep me there.

Absolute sucks and will pay.......................I love it.

I do feel bad for the people that did lose money to there BS.....

Hopefully its absolutely sunk!

Repentance before forgiveness

I would like to think that before giving AP another chance, AP might first have a real outside agency do a legitimate investigation into exactly what happened, and then publish a report detailing that investigation, its conclusions, and its recommendations with a plan of follow up.

Having a non-independent industry conduct a sham investigation and publish a less than one page report which essentially said "AP did something bad which we wont elaborate on. We made them pay us $500K. Now pretend nothing happened and continue to gamble with AP" does not count.

Would be interested in you expanding on your reasons possibly in another thread as this has been a topic of heavy discussion in the recently formed CM social group in regards to fair gaming.....Seems at least publically to be a very small select group of regular advocates who feel the same as you but I do not recollect you posting more specifically in regards....Some might find a new opinion interesting for several reasons. :)

Sorry!!!!!

But i have to laugh:lolup:

Any person who ever reads the ever famous meister forum.....should laugh and chuck it to the pit........

No Blackjack because of epassporte?

I actually tried to give Absolute a second chance, and they wouldn't let me!

I'd stopped playing poker there when the scandal broke, but have recently become interested in blackjack, and thought I'd try their tables since I still had an account there. It wouldn't let me access the blackjack tables, and in response to my inquiries, a support email from Absolute stated that because of "the disposition of some epassporte accounts" (whatever that means), anyone who had ever deposited via epassporte could only play poker, not blackjack.

What's that about? I noticed SeattleSinner mentioned in his earlier post that he wasn't allowed to play blackjack either at Absolute due to epassporte. I don't understand.

Anyway, due to the scandal, the fact that the only support available is via email (no phone numbers? that seems suspicious to me), and this latest situation where I'm only allowed to play certain games, I'm done with them.

Epassporte refuses to process casino game transactions. I guess they feel that they can claim poker is a skill game like how people are able to play spades, hearts etc. for money and processing poker doesn't fall under UIGEA. AP/UB block BJ for ePassporte users and some other rooms like Carbon are unable to even use ePassporte since their games are too integrated with the software. This is the same reason Bodog and WSEX can't use ePassporte as well as any casino. Poker only sites are the only ones that ePass will process for.

1-866-788-3005 is AP's U.S. cashier support. Many U.S. rooms have phone support for cashier issues but AFAIK only sportsbook based poker rooms have regular phone support.

What a strange turn of events. We have a crooked site with great customer support, but the other legitimate sites for Americans, like Bodog, Fulltilt, Stars, and Cake, have terrible support.

Before anyone jumps on me for putting Stars in that group, I do so because I got caught in the echeck disaster. It was very similar to what happened with Neteller and Ive got some bad feelings about that.

Wouldnt it be great if the customers sunk AP? Maybe the other sites would wake up and start providing better support.

Echeck disaster? What happened? I notice that FTP is offering this now....

I never used it at Stars because they couldn't confirm my account...should I consider myself lucky? :D

Darn. I knew if I mentioned Stars we'd get off topic.

I was refering to their reintroduction of echecks. They had some problems where the bank accounts were not being debited or credited. So, lots of us had money in the wind for a very long time. Stars should have known there was a problem and emailed a heads up to their customers, but they ignored it and their customers. The smart ones withdrew by check and had their money weeks before their accounts had even been debited. Everything is working fine now as far as I know.

To get back on topic of customer support, I guess the real test is when there is a large money related problem; how well does the site handle the situation, and by that I mean telling the customer what exactly has happened and when it is expected to be resolved. From what we've seen the AP management will ignore the problem and/or cover up their involvement. With such a small punishment for the latest incident is there any reason to think they will change their ways?

Can;t agree on Stars, or Cake. I've always had a speedy response from Cake, and Stars are always up there with the best. FTP is for sure not too clever, and I can't recall how BoDog is, I left after they changed their first version of software and havn't been back.

I have to agree. Cake and Star's support are way above the rest. To compare I did test question response times to grade support 6 weeks ago. Cake had a correct answer in 20 minutes, Stars 3 hours and nobody else got back that day. Many were in the middle around 24 hours but 2 rooms took over a month and one site didn't even bother to reply at all. The question would be rather easy and important to give a speedy reply to. It was "I'm a U.S. player, how do I deposit on your site." You would think sites would put a priority on that.
