Hey Laurie any word on this yet?
I was thinking of this from the other day because Me & Sarah (11) were in the store and this @ was looking at Sarah and said "Hey little one your cute" Hmmmm the ass was like around 45 years old.
I had a few words and walked away.

Both sides of the debate are valid. IMO, the line is crossed when details are handed out that allow you to pinpoint the location of an individual.

The correct way IMO - and I don't know how it was handled here - would have been to give LJ enough info to give to the police to start an investigation without revealing the location of the individual - or information that could easily lead to the location of the individual being discovered.

But whether that is possible, who knows. The police's minimum requirement to start an investigation may mean that's impossible. So then what? You let them get away with it or you take action. There is probably no single answer to keep everyone happy on that.

Bottom line for me is that if you say something like that, you have to be prepared to take the consequences of that action. How that is achieved is the debateable aspect.

I would ask this though: if it was someone really close to you that got threatened - parent, sister, partner or your children - would you feel it was wrong to have that information withheld from you then?

yes I would ....still it wouldnt be the proper way, cause I could handle the case MY WAY and it wouldnt be the legal one...that said....
How all could have been properly achieved? ,.. a simple question to the authority.: this is whats happening, how do I go about it?

This matter has been handled by the authorities and was done within the letter of the law.

It has been resolved and i was pleased about the outcome, no one should have to be bullied or stalked by someone behind a keyboard and this person now knows this.

It was a case of simple assualt and should i receive anymore threatening emails, it will become a felony as the local authorities have all the info on file.

Simmo would you please close this thread as the matter has been taken care of and people are now aware that they dont have to sit still and take abuse from those that wish to threaten people from a keyboard, its still against the law and you can end up in jail and or pay costly fines for doing so.
