Have you ever won alot but end up loosing it all.

later to reverse withdrawl to loose it all. You would think I learned my lesson made another deposit on another casino went up to 600.00 then lost it all. I always say I wont do this but I do.
What was the most you won and then lost it?
A year ago I went to woodbine which is in Toronto Ont Canada went with 100.00 in a few hrs had over 7000.00 left -1200.00 :mad: no one to blame but my self. Well Im off to make a deposit!!

Discipline Deepsky2, discipline! I have done it and want to scream when the luck "gods" turn.

I have learned that if I triple my investment wherever I am playing, I will walk away. Land-based casino is actually harder than home on-line. When I am home, I will sign off and walk away.Many more distractions. I Keep myself busy with household chores, make phone calls to friends, or get out of the house and force myself to run non-sensical errands, fill up the gas tank, re-stock the pantry etc. It does work but you have to be determined.:thumbsup:

I think many of us have done this. Most importantly, Forgive yourself! Learn from your lesson and move on.

Best Wishes,
Christine

Lots of times...

But then there is also those times I wake up with a really bad hangover and have no memory of last night at all but a huge payout at moneybookers or some other place. Always fun to check playcheck those times :) All in on straight up numbers at roulette is always fun, well at least every 1 of 37 times I do it...

A good idea is to set limits in your case. Never deposit more than xxx per day, NEVER. Otherwise you will find youself in the same situation many times in the future, trust me. And never ever reverse a withdrawal.

Jup, I'm very good at winning it, but I lack the discipline of quiting while im ahead. So ended up making my own site cause I still have love for the game. Best is if you to try and stay in the moment, don't think ahead. I read it among other places in a poker strategy book, though it's more like a zen thing I guess. Like the best poker players don't think about what the prize/pot is at. At casino games it's more like don't think about how much more you can win or how much you lost/went down since you hit a big one or whatever... Even still with this in mind I had a hard time cashing out, you can try uninstalling the software when cashing out, kinda helps too. Or start to hate the affiliate site you signed up through lol, that one worked for me too. It wasn't this site so :D

Thanks everyone

we all know better.....I think of all the times I have been so lucky and I have been very lucky but screw it up.
I really beleive you can make money gambling a few people do I know its not reality to everyone but for me I have always been lucky. Just the last few years I seem to loose everything i win, trying for more. I always say cash out , dont play till I get the winnings and when I do make a few more deposits and collect the bonuses.
I am determined now when I win anything over a 100 I will cash out.
i will let you know the out come

Well in the past two weeks I lost about 5k playing back nice wins
First one was at manhattan slots I started playin per spin on basketbull increased my bet to 6.50 hit the 100x bet for 600 dollars on the win win feature kept increasing bet up to 10 and 20 per spin and got up to about 2000 dollars, stupid me played it all back over a 10 hour period

Learned my lesson and swore next time I would cash right away.....

3 days later over at bodog came up a few hundred on hydroboats then went to jackpot pinatas hit slot of bonus rounds in a short period of time, one bonus round I hit 4 wild pinatas that paid 1000 dollars played some penguin game at 20 bucks a spin and came up to 2500 dollars, stupid me kept playing 10 dollar spins and lost it all back within 3 hours.

Next time will be different,..........it will be because I've been very hard on myself as I should and I now have a limit if I win more then a 1000 I will stop playing an cash out 80% of it.

Good luck everyone as always

The solution only play at a casinio that does immediate withdrawl like Ladbrokes, Getminted, Coral, SkyVegas, Betfred etc if you play at a casino that has reverse withdraw chances you will end up losing some or all of it. I have done this myself in July 2010.

You're a gambler, and you're human. Every gambler has done this at least once (and if they deny it they are not telling the truth ;)). You just need to learn discpline and set goals for yourself. Once you attain your goal, you cash out and walk a away for a bit. Some of the members have bought trips, redone their homes, or financed educations for their kids off their winnings. You just need to figure out what is best for you...:thumbsup:

I think most of us have fallen prey to RWS (reverse withdrawal syndrome) at least once. My first big online win was at a CR casino, with a lengthy reversable period in the holiday season of 07-08. I made a series of reversals, all of which started the clock ticking, on $2350, all the way down to zero. The steno pad with this and all the reversals I made is still on my desk, a reminder not to do the same again.

It's handy to have a cashout goal when you deposit. That can be a helpful thing, and might even vary from session to session for you. And I got some very helpful advice here once, that you can make a partial cashout, and leave some to play with. You can cashout a second time if you get lucky again.

I had some pretty good hits in the past couple of months, but I've played back quite a bit of it. Not all though, and I have made a few withdrawals as well.

I have a hard time at the landbased too. I usually only manage to come home ahead if I hit just before it's time to catch the bus home!

Don't beat yourself up too much. Helps to think as I lost $37, rather than I lost $1200 or $900. Otherwise, it's tempting to chase that grand, rather than your original $37 if you get my drift.

That's the key. The only casinos that stay on my drive are the ones with no reverse time. They still make a mint from me over the long term though LOL!

If you do that, then you can also add a cashout-as-you-go strategy. Everytime you hit 1000, cashout 500 until you're down to 0.

Yeah ofcourse a fast payout is good, but it's just one of the top qualities of a casino.. I feel like most reputable casino's who don't have a fast payout rate, have better odds, so the chances of actually winning when playing there are higher. Except for the 32red group then, they seem to have it all

I think one of the issues you have is that you really believe you can make money from gambling.

The only ones that can do it are professional horse punters who do it as a career, and those who have an extremely disciplined method of advantage play. However, even most of these people are full of hot air and couldn't lie straight in bed, and some also have ulterior motives like attracting people to signup with their affy links I.e. who wants to signup with an affy who tells everyone how much they lose?.

When you think of online gambling as entertainment and establish cashout limits and have withdrawals flushed to prevent reversing, you will not only have a healthier bankroll, but you will enjoy your gambling a lot more.

Yeah, this thread brings back memories of a week in my gambling-life at the end of last year...

I am a typical low roller depositing like 150-200 euro a month into microgaming casinos. Often having nice sessions, but most of the time giving everything back. You know the type ;) But i don´t mind losing. As long as i am having fun getting some playtime for my money, it´s nice entertainment...

But last year i gambled a 5e nd-bonus i had at 24hpoker (netent) up and up and up on jackhammer. The final tally was about 4500e... Unbelievable lucky for sure and about an hour after sending in my documents, the money was in my neteller account. Even without ever having deposited there...

The money was a very nice break for me, but i could not resist to give 32red and my favorite BDBA a try for a cool 1000 bucks... and the luck continued, hitting the five blue things with a wild for close to 4000. Time to withdraw! :thumbsup: Sure, as if i was capable of thinking rational at this point... :rolleyes: Long story short, the high-point of this session was over 11k. But i can now tell you that max-betting BDBA can eat even 11k really, really fast :mad: :eek:

So what was left after this really wild betting week for a low roller like me? Two nights, where i could not get to sleep, because of constantly thinking what a total idiot i was... but today i look at it the other way: i started the week without even depositing and had left 3.5k in my neteller... That is a good years gambling-budget for me, so everything was good :D

the two non-gambling friends who know this story are since that week 110% sure, that i have a few screws loose in my head... good chance they are right...

but hey, what can i do? gone is gone, so kicking myself up about the loss does not bring the 11k back... AND FOR ME AS A GAMBLER IT WAS A HECK OF A WEEK :D :eek: :rolleyes:

p.s.: that was the first time, i hit 5 of the blue things with a wild on BDBA... the second one was betting one cent per line.... :(

I'm starting to think a great strategy is to cash out or don't play any win over 100-200X bet. That goes for the regular spin cycle wins. Pull it out. If you lose your deposit you still have the win. Withdraw and deposit later if you wish. Just keep the money flowing out to the cashier in process.

Was going to say this. Probably one of the main reasons I continue to play at Ladbrokes is knowing that when I withdraw; it is MY money. No waiting, no reversals.
I'd love to know how much the casinos save each year simply by having a reverse withdrawal option. It's sneaky; they're playing on a gambler's addiction.

doesn't anyone understand it's not all that black and white? It's a cat and mouse game, I wouldn't say they save money, they still have the same payout rate, so conclusion?: you have a better chance of winning. I've played at a certain accredited casino, and rarely had any luck at all, but if I would have gotten lucky I would have been payed out faster.. well wooooopppieee for that :D

had my fair share of reversing all withdrawals....

After winning substantial amounts, i can certainly say i've fallen into the trap of reversing. For those casinos that don't flush or allow increment reversals, i have adopted a policy whereby I make increment withdrawals. For example, if I win say 20K, I would do a withdrawal of say 10K, then 5 withdrawals of 1K and another 10 withdrawals of 500dollars. At least this way if i'm tempted to withdraw i'll do it in smaller increments and by the 3rd or 4th reversal, my gambling brain stops and sense kicks in and i'll stop playing until my withdrawals are complete. :)

I too have had my fair share of brain meltdowns 4 years ago i turned £50 into £4000 playing CLEOPATRA at Blue Square. I withdrew £3900 instantly then blew the £100 on £10 spins before i knew it i had deposited the £4000 back playing crazy £20 spins and all from a credit card. :confused:

The one time that still really annoys me happened 2 years ago all due to some gambling by the casino. I had been playing at a certain casino rewards affiliate, cant remember where, for over a year never had a problem withdrawing. Then 1 week before xmas managed to low-roll a £20 deposit into £1800.I made the withdrawal then totally un-installed the casino so that i wasnt tempted in the 48hr reverse time and was looking forward to the money in the bank at xmas.

10 days passed,still no money in my bank account.I logged back into casino to find the money returned to my balance,I contacted support who informed me that they sent me a documents request twice when i withdrew,load of shite! I never recieved any email until they resent it there and then. Got really pissed off and u guessed it started playing and lost the lot.:mad:

I now always ask any casino that has a pending withdrawal period to flush any request there and then.

You just need to learn discpline and set goals for yourself. Once you attain your goal, you cash out and walk a away for a bit.

This is the solution, imo
because also if you cash immediately maybe you play your money at other casinos.

It happens a strange thing when I reverse, I always go higher,then if I don't immediately understand it's time to cash out, I loose all my primary winnings.
Last time at Omny I reverse 850, and when I was going down I hit to 2200.I said to my self "I just can get enough"

Remember how do you feel after....Unistall, close pc and go out to eat, shopping, and don't think to play until you're stronger
But , we all are or have been stupid.Only falling down you can learn to fly...

As has been posted above by many people, we've all done it.

I turned a 25€ deposit, without a bonus, into 5000€ - you'll see my screenshots into the winner and 1000x show me the money threads if you care to look back far enough.

I eneded up walking away with 1500€ ish - because they didn't flush withdrawals (this was a Rival casino), had a 5 day payout, and because I was too silly to wait for the cash to hit my moneybookers and withdraw it. I'm not blaming the casino, far from it, my own fault 100%.

We've all been there with a huge win, wanting to carry on and keep the streak going; but it doesn't happen, obviously. Just forget about it; move on, and do'nt make the same mistake next time!

If I win a lot I personally cash like 75% of it out as soon as I notice that I lose more and more of my winnings. I stop playing then until the next day and do something else

Been there, done that...
From this year, Let 's see:
1) $3700 win->reverse->lost @redflsuh
2) $3000 win->reverse->lost @dash
3) $7900 win->reverse->lost @royalvegas
4) $1000 win->reverse->lost @32red 3 times
5) $900 win->reverse->lost @redflsuh
etc etc...

still with nice profits from MG.
1) $700 win->reverse->win bigger @royalvegas up-to 16K in 3 hours.
2) $1200 win->reverse->win bigger @dash up-to 4200 in 20 mins.

You have to ask yourself why you reverse.

I chase bigger wins if I feel it. After reverse, my bets normally go up 5 times.

YES! You are not alone.

Early on in my online experience I had an amazing run and withdrew 20K all from one game (3 card poker). Next day I thought this game was great, and tried to get a similar run in a sister casino.

Back went that 20K:mad:

What an IDIOT you are, I told myself, for not stopping after the first 4K disappeared during what was clearly a "cold" game, leaving myself a tidy 16K up over the weekend. I should have split the 16K between a number of casinos, taken as many boni as I could along the way, hoping that I would stumble upon another "hot" game or casino.

I always flush my withdrawals. The problem with me is that as soon as the money hit moneybookers i deposit in a not so healthy manner lol. Sometimes its good sometimes is bad.

Worst thing is to have a Big win and not have anything to show for it, that is why i buy blu-ray movies or give my girlfriend money to shop.

Makes her happy and in the end i have got atleast something to show for it.

On my next big win, if it ever comes i will buy a big ass TV.

Because i dont like that feeling; tonight i blew what could have bought me a new TV.

That makes me sick.

I've found something very interesting to manage this kind of bad behaviours. Maybe for someone sounds like strange or crazy, on the contrary is a really good tecnique, valid also in other life fields.
I think I'll post it ,so one can decide by itself to learn and use it, or not.
I only don't know the right discussion to put it.So gimme some suggest

thanks

Thanks for anwering, Jasminebed.;)

I think this is a good place, cause the OP talks about the frustration coming from some behaviours we have.This kind of bad behaviour make us to feel bad sensations, after we have fallen...this may happens in various our life aspects
But we are here cause we love to play and love win.Don't like to waste money coming from Luck, but it happens :we do it and then feel very bad (sxxt) . Don't think that those who have great self control are better.(Maybe they also have problems like avarice of feelings, or they're too suspicious....game is always a mirror)

As already written before by some "essay" members it takes rules to stop when you're winning, cause it seems you're god and money looses value. Or you must be very cold and rational not to reverse. Some players do it , some other aren't able or they fall many times.
I think there's a deeper reason for this different way to manage. Those keeping money and go away aren't smarter than others. Maybe a wrong way to manage money coming from winnings it's not only a wrong behaviour reffering in that istant.

So the first question is :why?
For sure you cannot answer "I feel like wasting my money".So we have to go ahead, and try to listen that little voice who tell us the real reason.Maybe it sounds stupid, maybe we shame to admit , but this is the first step to do.

Let's take some example not gaming-related

Men having more and more sentimental/sexual stories.Are they really satisfied? Are they to admire? Yes, apparently.But if one of them look deeply into himself (it's not so usual!)...and ask "why?" he founds that he has a lot of girls because is an unsure, has a very low self-esteem.And he needs to proove his power in that way. The second step is another why.....from where it comes?

Women like shopping (I don't :)).Many like it too much. Why??? Is the real reason to have new dresses , shoes or bags???? No, they have empty inside , so they try to fill it in that way. The second step is why?....... what do I really miss?

So, coming again into related game problems, we must find the real reason of a wrong behaviour.

Example:
I win 1000 usd, I could stop, but go on.
First step :why?
I want more. Why?
...and so on , keeping on with answers like chinese boxes, just to find the real core

Any volunteer?

Of course doesn't stop here.When you found what I mean, there's a really simple tecnique to proove, free of charges :D, very simple.Just to try and see.

Note.I don't wanna be a master of anyone, but I'd like if someone is interested improving itself
