I can't win, no matter what....I am just a loser.

I don't understand how you guys win all the time? At first I thought it was just this one casino was crappy, but it's not, it's all of them....I joined a few others within the past few weeks, and I just don't win. Say I deposit $100, it never goes over $100, it just goes down down down.......

I mean do you have to be affiliated with a casino to win? There is no way someone can have this much bad luck, it's mathamatically impossible. I deposit about every other day, (give or take) and in 2 years I have only withdrawn 4 times, and they weren't even big withdrawls.

I just don't get it. What am I missing, what am I doing wrong?

Dont be so hard on yourself, it may be the games you are playing, you may have had built up a withdrawlable bankroll but chased the big one and lost it, I dont think things can be that bad, set some rules for yourself, I used to feel this way too, I now follow my rules, and when I break them, I get bit. Hopes this helps. My the luck of Simmo, Slotster, and Slotjunkie be with you.

Do you play slots or VP or BJ?

At slots you cant be doing anything wrong. Nobody (not even myself) is too stupid to play slots.
I m pretty sure, it s a question of patience - or of stopping it, if you only lose.
But i am sure, most - or all - of the forum members have months in which nothing goes together.
Have you tried games in a fun mode? (do you win there?)

I have only built up a withdrawable bankroll a few times and lost it. I can't set rules for myself, I'm taking that as to mean cash out at a certain point? If I deposit $100 and never get over $100 there is no way for me to set rules, for I never get anywhere to cash out. I'm not kidding, I NEVER go over my initial deposit, and if by some dumb luck I do, it's only like $25-$50 over.

Why is it certain people win all the time? Don't you find that odd?

Mostly slots, and sometimes VP, never BJ.....everyone wins in fun mode.

My top 4 games I play are Ladies Night, Thunderstruck, Tally Ho, and Spring Break.

It's almost like the casinos put out the word...."here comes just play, don't let her win"

I am affiliated with casinos and 2006 has been the worst yr of luck in and out of the casinos so being affiliated with them does not help believe me..lol.

 I just decided to save money and not even bother to gamble like I use to, I say throw yourself into something else that you enjoy and back off from playing some, when you do that I bet your going to enjoy the spinning more and find it more relaxing instead of stressing out over winning. Just my thoughts on it.

Sticking to the big 4 is probably your first problem. Those can go for very long dry spells. Also start depositing no more than say $50 a session and low roll a bit to get a feel for how the machines pay out. If you double up, cash out. Do this a few times to catch some of your losses. If you are depositing and start your betting at $1 or more, that is a recipie for disaster. No more that 1 cent credits till you get a better feel for the games and start budgeting like 25% of your bank roll per machine, making sure to be able to get at least 100 spins out of that 25%
I also don't recommend sitting on a machine for more than 100 or so spins without a bonus round.

Remember, losing is the natural state of affairs when playing at a casino.

If you have trouble setting limits on your wagering, I would recommend sticking with play mode, or just avoiding the casino altogether.

You are in good company Just play.
I have been bemoaning my luck all Year.
The advice given is all good.
Hopefully you are not as weak willed as me and can
force yourself to follow some of it.
In the end though we would'nt do it unless we enjoyed it expensive entertainment though it is.
If it really has got to the point where you are not enjoying it then ask yourself some hard questions.

You might consider giving Hype a chance. I do really well there but can't do a thing in the MG or RTG casinos lately.

I am not affiliated with any casino so when I win it is just dumb luck. The MG casinos have so many slots I never know what to play. I end up losing more than cashing out simply because I have too many choices.

The RTG casinos are so cold right now you have to wear a jacket, gloves and a hat to play them. That is my experience anyway. They hit in spurts but mostly I am just giving them my money for a few minutes of play.

Just started playing Bingo. Now that is a good game. LOL. At $.25 a card how can you go wrong.

Good luck and don't beat yourself up. You aren't a loser. It is the casinos taking your money.

All the above posts are correct.
As you know, I win all the time (nearly - this month has been diabolical!), and I do it by following certain 'rules'.
They aren't hard & fast rules, like grinding out WR flat betting BlackJack, but more like guidelines which I roughly follow.

With bonus video slots especially, the key is patience and starting small. You must have at least a vague idea of the chances of hitting the all-important feature. e.g. on Spring, Ladies & Thunder the average is once in every 130-ish spins. So I start small (say 2c/line) for at least 100 spins before slowly upping the bets. If it goes 200-ish without hitting & I'm losing too quickly I stop. Or, if I hit a lot of features early on I also stop.
The main thing is try to leave each slot with more than you started with - even if it's just $1.
Of course, I have the head start of always playing with a bonus. You don't say if you're doing that.
Personally I think even I would always lose without using bonuses, because there would be no end point to my gaming, no target to aim at.

Whatever you do, good luck & Happy Christmas!

I don't understand how you guys win all the time?

When talking about slots I believe there are a very few people that manage to win consistently and they never play without a bonus.

The winnerscreenshots thread just gives the impression that you can win all the time. Often people post several huge wins from same session, but if you check the bankroll you will often see that the first win was allready gone before hitting the next big one.

Here is how I play slots and it helps me REDUCE the cost, I can not make money on slots.

That was a good read Zoozie

Thanks everyone for all the great advice! :notworthy I really enjoy MG slots and playtech VP, but I can't play at playtech anymore  I don't like the MG VP, I don't know why?

I tried Hype, I think they were giving away a no deposit, and I didn't like those games either.

Maybe 2007 will be my year!

oh, someone asked if I take bonuses....sometimes yes and sometimes no, the reason is, either I bust out VERY quickly, or I get right up to meeting the requirement and only have a few dollars left. And if you can cash out without fufilling the requirements I still can't do that, since I never go over $100

I'd like to add some thoughts here.

Firstly, we don't win as Zoozie says, we just get good wins in among losing :) Part of the reason for that is we wager more, so the wins always look better.

I personally think it's harder to "win" on slots if you low-roll, mainly because you have higher expectations than those achievable. For example, If i deposit $500 and play at $9 a spin, I'll probably get around 100 - 150 spins from that on an average session, but I'll look to be cashing out when I have a 50% profit.

If you're depositing $100 and spinning at say $0.90, it's harder to get to 50% profit, but you get a longer session. That's when you have to lower your targets and cashout smaller amounts more regularly. I would bet $1.80 and aim to cashout $20 or more everytime I won more than $30...or something like that.

Cheers

Simmo!

i would suggest you to take some blackjack bonuses, dont take sticky bonuses. wager small bets and grind the wagering requirement for bonus. when wr for bonus is completed , in most cases even if you dont win over deposit, you will manage to atleast withdraw bonus.you can start with starluck , planet luck and harrods casino. there are so many other casinos.

We all feel like losers sometimes

I play almost exclusively RTG games. I lost a lot of money playing the stupid goose on the MG games. I don't play unless I have at least $600 to depost. That seems to be my lucky number. I play $20 a spin most of the time. Sometimes I reduce it to $10 if I get down to $200. If I win a couple of thousand, to me, that is just a bankroll. There have been times when I played all night and couldn't get up for work the next morning. Rarely do I cash out unless I have at least $10,000. Sometimes I win big and most times I lose. But, I have paid off a car, paid off credit cards and went on Vegas trips with my wins.:D

Occasionaly I will depost $100 and put it on $.20 and autoplay. I have won a random jackpot on three occasions that way. All at Crystal Palace...but now their minumum bet is $1, so I can't do that there anymore.

Rarely do I take bonuses but when I do, I play aggressively. Last year I won $40,000 at Crystal Palace playing on a bonus. It was goldbeard and goldbeard was hitting. I was betting $100 and $500 a spin. And yes, they paid me all of it (4,000 per week). And yes, I dumped some of it back in.

When I am broke, I play in "fun mode."

I have had long dry spells were I felt like a loser too. But then, it breaks and I am a winner again. :D

It's fun and it's what I want to spend my money on. But, I only spend what I can afford to lose. That is the most important rule!

Good luck to you and I hope your losing spell breaks. It sure is fun to be a "winner."

Very impressive story!
Go on winning, dear.
I like the RTGs too - esepcially when they pay - as they did during the last days (and as we could see at your phantastic jackpot shot)

With bonus video slots especially, the key is patience and starting small.
I have demonstrated this perfectly to myself at 32Red this month:-
Deposited just $35 for a $32 bonus on Dec-16th and had 'little dabbles' most days since then.
No big bets, max 4c/line. Broke even on the first three slots I played, then 5 features in 105 spins on Moonshine made $20, and 4 features in 250 spins on Jungle Jim made $33. Then +$8 on Bush T, $40 on Stud Poker before losing $7 on Tally Ho & $16 on Harveys.
Then today Pat H gave me a $50 bonus to try the 'seasonal slots', so I did:
Got a few small feature wins on Santa Paws, but carried on. 100 spins @ 1c gave nothing, 25 @ 2c = nowt, then on my 17th spin @4c I got the feature: Last free spin hit 5xQ & 5xA all at x4 for this total:-

Old Attachment (Invalid)

After that, moved to What on Earth & hit something I've not had before:-

Old Attachment (Invalid)
(The 5 rockets paid $36 - the beam up was only x10)

But there we have it; I've low-rolled a $35 deposit (+2 bonuses) to $366 over 7 days - and I haven't even quite reached the $1000 WR yet!
As I said, patience is the key...

I don't understand how you guys win all the time?
:(

Don,t be fooled by the "Winner's Screenshot" thread. Consider the thousands of people gambling compared to the number of winning screenshots. It's a very low percentage.... and if you could see the rest of the story, you'd find that most of the "Winners" give it all back and much much more. They're pretty pictures, but don't be fooled into believing that so many slot players are living the good life. It's a sure thing that over the long haul everyone will lose on slots.

No offense KK... that statement doesn't apply to you. I have known you to be one of the very few exceptions. A person with a plan, and mountains of self control. :)

I have a net gain with slot play and make a positive overall gain on slots most months. My gain usually isn't large, but it is a net gain nonetheless. This thread inspired me to write a thorough explanation, which is linked in my signature. A quick summary is:

1. Play with Bonuses -- If you do not play with bonuses, you will almost certainly lose over time. Slots have a large house edge and may have a good portion of the payout tied to rare wins. The best bonuses for slot play are ones that allow you to cash out after a big win without completing wagering requirements, such as standard implementation of Microgaming's Clearplay/eZ bonuses.

2. Leverage the Bonus with High-Variance Play -- By leveraging the bonus to a greater extent, the average gain from the bonus increases, along with the risk of busting. There is a direct correlation between the average gain and risk of busting when playing non-cashable bonuses. In short, go for a big win.

3. Cash Out after a Big Win -- If you do not cash out after a big win, you are expected to eventually lose your winnings.

4. Compete Wagering Requirements with Low-Variance Play -- If you choose a bonus with wagering requirements. Instead of cashing out after a big win, switch to a low variance slot or a smaller bet size. If you continue with high-variance play, you will almost certainly bust before completing the wagering requirements.

Sound advice. But I still think your Sig should read "How To Lose Less With Slots" :p
