Ignoring those RTPs

So after weeks of feeling dejected due to ever decreasing RTP settings on slots, we decided to have a session yesterday at Mr Green and completely abandoned our routine help file check for RTP settings. We chose Mr Green as they are forever dropping a few quid in my account as an incentive back, so wanted so show some sort of loyalty. We also accepted a 100% match deposit bonus as we are low stake players and play for time rather than profit (although all profits are welcome!).

We simply played the games we wanted and enjoyed, and it didn’t go that badly to be honest. Turned our £50 deposit into £75 cash after a couple of hour of play, and unlocked our £50 bonus which needs to be wagered (only) 10x. Will continue to work on that next weekend if it is still valid.

Maybe this Is the new way to approach things, or maybe we were just lucky (probably the later). I’m very reluctant to give into these money grabbing changes but it seems the only way forward if we want to continue our small time hobby.

On a side note, I thought that playing at an unregulated crypto via VPN would be the only way to get back to the glory days of max RTP. That was until I saw everyone’s favourite hatted streamer playing a Prag slot on Stake recently where the RTP was only 94%. Looks like the cryptos are looking for the take too now…

To be honest, I would give up before adopting that approach.

I just don't play many of the games that come in different models and when I do they are at max versions.

The obvious loss of game time is not something you won't feel as a player.

Thousands of decent slots at the wonderful 96% range.

Glad you had fun, but not the approach for me :)

The glory days of max RTP are not gone. Just missing on your regulars. Make a new regulars list, try something new.

All Pragmatics are on max RTP on Stake. It's the only reason to be there.
Be aware Pragmatic do offer lower RTP models so keep your eye on things!

The problem is that the fun stops when you have to spend a quarter of your slot play time checking RTPs before you play. A max RTP slot or provider today may not be max tomorrow.

It is resulting in much less time devoted to slots these days for us though.

As far as I can tell, it's only Play 'n' Go and a few 3rd Tier providers that don't state the RTP in the Helpfiles, even in Curacao. Pragmatic play fair in that respect.

@slot_zombie ok I was misinformed. Sorry. Might have been a better way to relay your message though.
The gunfire emoji was tongue in cheek, no malice intended. I think you're the third person to come on here this week and claim that Stake are operating at lowered RTP, I don't know where it's all coming from. Information is power, and all that...

I completely agree with your core message that UK slotting is now trash. You got lucky trying those lowered RTP slots.

Yes, still be careful as it's only the UK and a couple of other jurisdictions it seems that actually compel all games to show RTPs in help files - if playing elsewhere there's a chance they could be missing or deceptive a la the Coral/Gala affair here. Also check out the video I posted in the Twin casino thread where a non-UK player was getting ripped off it appears.

Ok sorry mate. I don’t have an account with Stake so I don’t know if I can see their RTPs myself. And I hate misinformation so get your point clearly.

It’s really good to know there is a backup out there when I fully decide to abandon U.K. licensed casinos altogether. The only thing preventing me from doing so at the moment is the large swings in crypto values. I’d hate to lose 20-25% of my bankroll overnight due to bitcoin devaluing as the slots do a good enough job of that already. But I guess bitcoin can increase by those margins as well.

The Australian sounding one lowered their RTPs a while ago and that place feels real tight to me now.
Stake didn't AFAIK but the RTP isn't always in the help files in that jurisdiction (I don't think it's a licensing obligation on the casino's part there) so I couldn't be 100%
There are others of course but I haven't had the pleasure (yet).

You can get lucky on any RTP, there are random games in the pubs here that can run as low as 90%, and I will occasionally get involved with them after a couple of small lager shandies, and sometimes I'll win, but there's no escaping the fact I'm going up against a preposterous 10% house edge.

I'm sure the providers have done the best they can to shave the percentages and still leave the games as intact as possible, but a 94% game still has a 50% larger house edge than a 96% game, and one way or another, as your spin sample size increases over multiple sessions, one way or another, it's going to make itself felt - ultimately, the maths will win.

@slot_zombie if you get a spare few minutes could you please look up the RTP on Stake for the Hacksaw game Joker Bombs? Was flicking through Twitch the other day and the twat in the hat was playing it on Stake, and “his” data stated it had an RTP of 94.x%. I think he exclusively plays on Stake these days, and as this is a brand new release, I can only assume he got it the RTP from Stake.
