I thought this could be an interesting thread to see what people would do with their gambling money.

Pretend your internet wouldn't work for a few weeks or a month, or your computer crashed, or your significant other said "hey, take a few weeks off"

Honestly....What would you do with the money you spend on gambling?

For me I am using part of my gambling money this coming month, I am buying something from Bed Bath & Beyond (men might not want to read further, lol)

They have an 11 piece "dorm room set" No I don't go to college or have children that live in a dorm, but it's a hell of a deal and I'm buying it. Gambling will have to take a hit this month. :D For twin size $79.99 you get comforter, sheet set, pillow, sham, fleece throw, 2 towels, hamper, and dry erase board. I just cannot pass it up!!! (they also have full and queen sizes, I might buy one of each)

Who's next? You can't gamble for a few weeks or month, what are you doing with that money?

If my computer was down and I can't gamble online.
I would Open my door from my house and get into a Bus or Car and drive 45 mins to Mohegan Sun Casino or 1 hour to Foxwoods Resort Casino
If I don't want to gamble at all for the next 2,3,4 months I would just get extra things I need for around the house.
I say to all if you do gamble just gamble what you can afford.
B-T

I wouldnt ever deposit and play amounts that could significantly change my financial situation. I rather lowroll and then I can gamble and still buy everything i would have bought if I hadnt played.

Right now as it stands after my major puter crash last weekend, I can only get some of my casinos downloaded. So as I read this im thinking to myself, jump in car there are a few casinos only a couple of hours away from me.
As far as spending what I would not gamble on line. I have only done that once.
I make sure mortgage bills food, dogs are well kept, send money off to kids.
Then the rest is put into a fund for me to do what i like with.
From my wins in the past month I have purchased a new car, tv video gaming,
and a few other things. I think this would be less as I like to as soon as I do win buy something to show what I got, rather then funds back into another casino account.

You know, I haven't really kept track of what I've spent in the last 5 years of online gambling, but I'm sure a large chunk of my mortgage would be paid off if I had never started.

Thankfully something clicked in my gambling fogged brain last month and told me enough is enough. Life is sweeter now. My hubby and I will still go to a land based casino 2 or 3 times a year on special occasions.

I still like coming here to see some of those amazing winning screenshots. But oddly enough, I don't get the urge anymore to make a deposit after seeing them. I sure hope it lasts.

A new car!!!

How much did you win in the past month if you don't mind me asking? (don't answer if you don't want)

If i couldnt gamble anymore, id buy more un- needed crap for my house, maybe a newer riding lawn mower for outside, the one that picks up your grass clippings, that would save a whole lot of time on raking the lawn:D

I dont gamble like i used to anymore, i put so much on my card and so much in my rainy day account, so far the rainy day account has more in it........wonder why?.................laurie

Hmmm
I am not sure . I have a pretty happy life.
The worst thing that can happen in life in my opinion is having a sick child so not being able to gamble is nothing compared to that . I am grateful every day for my healthy kids :)
I did recently buy myself a pretty sweet cherry red Dodge Ram in mint condition :D

So So True Silky, children and family should never play second fiddle to gambling, id much rather give one of my kids the cash to help them than spend it at one of many casinos and those that have smaller children, who would rather gamble online or at a B/M than take care of their childrens needs have FAILED THEN AS A PARENT IMO..............laurie

Hiya: I f you gamble quite a bit, then you should take a few weeks off every few months or so, and not to have to have your PC Crash to make you. To those who have never done that, try it, it is really good for the mental part of gambling, as your brain needs a break once in a while.

Because of my office/apt getting flooded over memorial day, and having my PC sitting on the floor, it got fried. That, and being in the process of moving into the house we bought, "Foreclosed on, and Casino money paid 1/2 of the 22k purchase price", i actually was forced to take a few weeks off.

I spend the time working on the house, and we got it liveable a lot faster than otherwise. ......

This morning I painted. I received a free can of paint from Glidden. My livingroom is brown and I am going to eventually paint it all yellow. It is wayyyy too dark in here, even though the brown looks very very nice.

Instead of wasting my money away I am now going to do stuff with my extra money. I will still gamble a bit, but not like before. I'm sick of seeing everyone else win and not me, so I will turn my house into the prettiest house ever. :D

If..if..if..if

If i met some people who are willing to pay thousands of dollars..for extreme sports or activities.just for few seconds of high adrenaline..
sometimes i feel i get the same feeling..for less than 50$..

If play for fun you always win.

I would probably us the money to enjoy a little summer fun. Maybe take a little trip. Side note - I love Bed Bath & Beyond. They sell all of the As Seen On TV must haves.

I stopped last month or maybe may, lol

I shopped on ebay with what I would normally deposit, had packages showing up left and right of stuff I needed but didnt have time to shop for (but I had time to gamble usually)

I need to make it a bi-monthly thing.

Shop one month, gamble the next!

I really don't gamble a whole lot so therefore I would spend it taking my grandson to the circus or spend it on upgrading my computer. I think that is my addiction is to electronics..I got to have a bigger hard drive, faster memory, loads of software. Yup I am a computer junkie. And I love every minute of it. Gambling I could leave it alone.

What if

I just posed this question to my old man and found out he hasn't really touched his part of our gambling budget in a few months. He normally plays poker, the long tournaments, as well as the sit an goes. He can play on one deposit forever, some of these tourneys only cost $2.00, as opposed to me who usually goes through mine in a couple of weeks.

He said he is using the saved money to enter the Bengals (I know we suck, but Palmer is looking good and we are the Hard Knock team this year)) second chance season ticket lottery. I may have screwed up the name of it. If he doesn't get tix well just hit a few games with the dough.

I bought 32" sony flat screen on the morning of the 4th of July.
Only because my 14 month old 19" samsung blew the power supply due a lightning storm the night before. So much for the surge protector.

Had it fixed last week for $169.

My friends tell me I would probably be dead if I were unable to gamble for whatever reason. I live in a funny world. Many of my bosses and counterparts detest my gambling habits not that it affected my work. They heard that I play mahjong and bet on horses in the evening and they didnt like me for that sole reason. None of their business but they view me as a beast and believe me, I could have risen through the ranks if they did not brand me as such.

Back on topic, I honestly wouldnt buy anything more if I could not gamble because I dont set a gambling budget for myself. I wouldnt defer any purchases just because I lost more than usual in any given month. That said, my bets, either online or at the races, are only 5% of what it used to be 10 years ago and I earn twice as much now. Go figure. If this question was posed to me 10-15 years ago, I would say my gambling addiction had cost me a house lol.

Let's see.... if we take my gambling expenses for the past month and put it back in my pocket.... I would.... get a hair cut? I rarely play anymore. $25 or $50 for 5 minutes of watching wheels spin or VP cards being dealt isn't much fun. So I very rarely do it. Gambling money has always been 'discretionary' money anyway... something I wouldn't use for anything else in particular.

Amazingly enough, pre-UIGEA (when I could actually win) I deposited $100 - $300 a day... and had a pretty constant stream of cashouts going to NT, goodies on my doorstep from Mummy's Gold, screenshots of RFs.... ahhhh... those were the days-- when I never used out of pocket money, and my gambling brought in money .... It was fun while it lasted.

That site is Lou (The Professor) Fabiano's site...right
How true it is.
Do you see any cabbage threads on his site.
I miss seeing them "Where's The Cabbage"

I haven't been able to gamble for about 3 months now and I'm amazed at how much money I've thrown away. I am catching up on my bills and buying a few things for my place.

I get some free spins from MG casino every week from my past play and it usually amounts to $10 that I can play for real.

That money goes pretty fast and I think If I had been deposting that every week I still wouldnt have won anything. So it kind of makes me feel like i dont want to start up again.
