It won't help them. This must have spread so far around the internet that having ONE comment removed from ONE forum will actually make things WORSE, because even if this comment IS removed, the story of it's removal has just been aired here, and this is likely to happen every time they try to get something removed.
Instead of Google searches showing the comments, they will show the comments about the comments, and the efforts being made to rewrite history. The only thing that can FORCE a webmaster to remove an article is a court injunction, or at the very least, a watertight legal case presented by their lawyers in writing that has the webmaster's own lawyers advising removal. Anything less is just a request, and can be refused.
I am sure they are making similar approaches to CM to have the rogue pit comments edited or removed. Bryan also has contacts within Rival, so can actually find out whether it is true that the lawyers from both sides are "dealing with this".
