I just recieved the following announcement from Hype Gaming:

Dear Professor,

We are the licensee of the Software for Hype Gaming Casino and we have been monitoring the situation regarding Hype Casino not paying their affiliates. Affiliates are very important to us as they promote and provide value to our casino clients.

Therefore we will not stand by and allow this to continue.

The Licensee has regretfully suspended Hype Management from Managing Hype Casino.

We wish to firstly advise that all Players Payments are absolutely safe and are being paid as the licensee will ensure that this is covered.

We have made a request to the previous Hype Management to immediately pay their affiliates and we have given them 72 hours to respond.

After this time has expired we will write to you again and advise if we have been successful and what the next steps we intend to take are.

We ask that you please provide us this time to allow us to attempt to retrieve your monies from the previous Hype Management.

Thank you for your patience and we wish to reinforce that we will not allow Casino Operators to not pay Affiliates.

Yours Faithfully

Casino Licensee

The way this is written it is not clear to me who is bad-mouthing who?

Is there some confusion between the meaning of the words "licensee" and "licensor" perhaps?

It would be less confusing to simply call a spade (or a company) a spade instead of dancing around with these terms and referring to "management".

If this is Player Preferred - Firepay Interactive sending out the email (Lou - you may want to confirm the headers, please) then they are igniting a serious row with Steve Sorensen and his partner who were the owners of Hype Casino prior to their instructions to shut it down on April 30 to David Jenkins (Firebrand) and David Ohlson (Player Preferred)

Either way, I wouldn't touch this operation with a bargepole until they all start acting with honour and integrity by PAYING THE PLAYERS!

That's the number 1 priority and obligation here.

This is Player Preferred sending out the email as it is coming directly from Firebrand's email server. Hype Management was cut out from server access some time back as I recall.

Thanks KW - I thought as much but their confusing writing style did not make it clear.

It's going to be interesting to see what Sorensen and Co. say in response - they are not going to be too pleased about being labeled the guilty party here when the "management" was actually through Firebrand (or so I am led to believe)

There are red warning flags all over this group now as far as I am concerned.

Edited to cross- reference this thread with an earlier Casinomeister thread at:https://www.casinomeister.com/forums/threads/my-hype-withdrawal-experience.16690/ which details the origins of the issue here.

A huge problem has been a lack of public communication on the issue. Hype Management has selectively talked to a few affiliates one on one while ignoring virtually everyone else. Problems can generally be solved through discussion, but when you clamp down on communication it leaves everything up to speculation.

By "Hype Management" I take it you're referring to Ohlson and Jenkins at Player Preferred-Firebrand, Professor?

You're right, of course - communication has been consistently awful and downright amateurish, and this whole issue is an acrimonious mess with players caught up in the middle.

That should not be the case, anyway we look at it.

Hi Guys,

Well ... I guess now you all know why I've been so quiet over the last few weeks. Because of my contract, I haven't been able to make any comments on what is happening behind closed doors re: the Hype Gaming Company.

I trust you'll understand the position I'm in and why I couldn't speak publicly on the situation. For those of you who thought I had disappeared and "gone in hiding" this was certainly not the case.

With that said, I also understand the situation all of you are in who are owed money. All I can do is thank you for supporting MY efforts on running your affiliate program and for sticking by me for all these months. I hope things turn out for the best for all of us. Let's wait and see what happens next ...

Cheers,
Justin

I guess we will have to see what goes on at HYPE
At least Justin did a reply

Yes he just posted that at CAP. I still wish we could have been kept in the loop before this exploded the way it did.

My information is that Justin is not a key decision maker in the mix, although he is reportedly "consulting" for the Queensland based Japanese investors who have apparently been lined up to be the fourth Player Preferred software operator.

Given the present crisis, they are going to face a seriously uphill credibility battle when they launch.

My information is that Justin is not ...

Hey Jetset - not wishing to cross info-swords with you ... :)

I've been talking with Justin over the past 4 days and have put him in touch with a respected operator. Justin is not, to my knowledge, consulting to anyone in Australia.

I hope it works out for him.

You're closer geographically to the Aussie action than I am, so I bow to your superior info-sword macpomme!

But are you absolutely sure that Justin is not consulting for the new Japanese licensee shaping up for launch with Player Preferred?

Edited to add that this is really a bit of a side-show anyway - surely the main goal here should be to get Nix Court or PP-Firebrand or both to sort out the mess they have created for their players and affiliates?

But are you absolutely sure that Justin is not consulting for the new Japanese licensee shaping up for launch with Player Preferred?

Nothing is sure here, and some conflicting stories are circulating about the entire incident. It just depends on who you talk to.

IMO this hasn't played out and there is some truth to emerge yet.

One thing I do believe is that after the conflicting parties sort themselves everyone will be paid and the software will live on. Just who will be in charge of what remains to be seen.
