Dear Casinomeister,

How do you take a screenshot? I have windows xp pro.I dont know if
there is any other info I need to give you. I'm a big fan of microgaming software and I also play at Casino on Net. I dont know if this makes a
difference.
I really liked the thread about screenshots. I didn't know you could take a picture  Learn some thing new everyday :) It was nice to
see the wins  I hope to have one to post!!!!
Thank your for your help with this. CeeGee

I have been searching on how to resize paint. I tried to post my screenshots but it says they are too big. I saw it somewhere in the forum but now cannot find it. Don't get fancy on my I am a bit of a neophite! Thanks for any help you can give!

It has been brought to my attention that there are some people who don't know how to make a screenshot by using the tools available in windows.

Here's a little guide which I made for those who feel completely challenged when it comes to take a screenshot.

When saving, at the very bottom where it says "save as type", select "JPEG". That should save you alot of space.

again with the screenshot thang

i'm no geek but i'm a fairly persistent tinkerer......the screenshot thing has been driving me nutty as for some reason my paint program won't allow me to save as jpeg or png. so now i'm doing a 30 day free trial with one of the programs from c-net. i'm not wild about the name of this product (CaptureWizPro) but it seems to do the trick nicely. no telling what happens at the end of my 30 days.

Heres how I do it.....maybe it will help..

When playing slots and you see a screen you want captured here are the steps I use:

1)hit print screen
2) go to start button, programs, accessories, paint (not the newfangled one)
3) open paint, right click on screen, click on paste
4) go to save as, type in a name on bottom where it says file name, then go to drop down arrow and choose jpeg or jpg below file name and on top choose from drop down arrow, save it on desktop )easier to find for uploading I find)
5)go to the menu bar on top of paint and go to image, stretch/skew and change it to 75% for both boxes. Hit save.

I keep the paint program open while playing so all I have to do is just a few keystrokes when I want to save anything....such as, printscreen, paste, save as, stretch/skew , save and then I am done with the next one..no need to close out paint every time.

Hope this helps! Gets easier and faster after a while...the main thing I find is the ...save as is very important to do after pasting and before the stretch/skew and then the save after the stretch skew.

silcnlayc,

Excellent straight forward post

Not wanting to steal your thunder but there is also a great little program that free, that I've been using for years. <please removed xxx from URL> xxxhttp://www.irfanview.com

You can have it running in the background whilst playing online and when you wish to take a screen cap you simply push a pre-defined button and whamo your screen cap is there.

You simply minimize your casino software <download> or maximize the irfanview proggy <browser based casino play> and your screen cap is ready to be adjusted to 640x480.

Can be saved in many formats <though *.jpg> is the best. You can also decrease the compression ratio which in jpg format gives you a smaller file size.

there is also a great little program that free
Trezz, I tried it. Can't seem to menuever it correctly. Had it running as you said in the backround (always willing to try something new) and when it came to take the screen shot..got totally lost in how to save it, size it etc....Give me paint anyday, because you can have it also run in the backround (which I do) and with a flip of a finger (3 strokes actually) I am done...guess everyone has thier favorites and one must find what suits them :)

agreed

Just a little added help.

Print Screen= captures the whole computer screen including multiple open windows. You have to clean it up with a crop.

Alt + Print Screen= captures just the top window.

Open Paint, click Edit, then paste (or Right click/paste), there's your pic.

File (or right click)...Save as....My Pictures (any folder actually)... as .jpeg format (some forums will not accept .bmp and .gif)

Now you are ready to host the picture.

Okay, most forums will accept about 650 pixels wide without stretching the pages. So resizing the photo is nice to maintain easy reading.

Instead of resizing in your software, this is easier,
go to www.imageshack.us (phpbb recommended and the picture stays there forever)

Browse, find photo....
Click on the "resize image?" and use "640 X 480 for Message Boards" (perfect for poker rooms or casino screen shots)
Click "Host It"

A screen will come up with about 8 different type of URL's
Use the 4th or 5th one down for "Hot Link for Forums 1" or "Hot Link for Forums 2"

All you have to do is copy/paste it into your post and you are done. (no need to add the BBC code "IMG" "/IMG" as they already done it for you.

Sounds harder than it is. Piece of cake after you do it a couple times.

Without all the hoopla....

Alt +Print Screen
Start>>All Accessories>>Paint>>click Edit in toolbar>>click Paste>>
click File in toolbar>>click Save As

Save to My Pictures as .jpg--.jpeg format

Ready to host.... open www.imageshack.us

Browse, find photo>>click Resize Image?>>640 X 480>>click Host It

copy/paste 4th or 5th URL (Hot Link for Forums) into your post and you're done!
