Everyone always goes crazy to shop, especially after Thanksgiving. I can see being excited, but to go this far! People running over this person must have saw him on the ground, but continued running? Yes, sales are more important than a person laying on the ground being trampled to death.

Not was I was expecting to read about first thing today....!

Hope those camera's are as finely tuned into the entrance of the store as they are to to the employees locker room, the fitting rooms,the registers and of course each and every one of the shoppers.

Just the thought of a wild pack of frenzied bottom feeders ready to get their hands on left over/damaged/ discounted useless stock that the store couldn't give away last week is sickening enough.

But to entice and encourage them to come and not expect or even prepare for chaos is oh so ridiculously negligent....did you not learn anything form your family tree not forking??????.

Hey Walmart...... just because some of your customers now walk upright doesn't mean their collective intelligence has risen. I know 'cause I'm one of them...WAS one of them.

what ever happened to just plain being kind to others during the holiday shopping rush? this is just heartbreaking to read, maybe im from a different generation, but i still hold doors open for others ,pregnant ladies and the elderly and "say after you," or if someones in line behind me with just a few items and i have a buggy full of items, i let that person go ahead of me, little things that our parents taught us......RESPECT......KINDNESS AND MANNERS...........do they even exist anymore?...............laurie

Unfortunately.......not at Walmart

IF I shop there, I go at 6 am, well before the crowds show up cuz it is safer for someone whose legs can't move fast enough to safely maneuver the store. I really don't mind being the only shopper in the store...it's kinda cool actually! Did I go today for the big deals? Hell no! I went yesterday while most were at home eating Turkey

This is just plain sickening. But, what can be done to fix this? Maybe there needs to be a federal law against stores only offering N (in this case, 10) of something that's marked down so ##$@#$ much that shoppers feel the need to sit outside 24 hours before the sale, just so they can get it?

I hope they find whomever was responsible for this mans death, and throw the book at them!

and btw, what in the world is a woman, 8 months pregnant, standing outside in almost freezing weather for hours on end, just to be first in line for a sale? IMO, children & youth services needs to interview this woman to make sure she's going to be a fit mother. It sure doesn't sound like it...

PALM DESERT, Calif. - Two men pulled guns and shot each other to death in a crowded toy store Friday after the women with them erupted into a bloody brawl, witnesses said. Scared shoppers fled but no one else was hurt.

The violence erupted on Black Friday, the traditional post-Thanksgiving start of the holiday shopping surge, but authorities indicated the shooting wasn't related to a shopping frenzy.

Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Dennis Gutierrez said the fight was not over a toy. He said handguns were found by the men's bodies, but he released little other information. He would not answer a question about whether the shooting was gang-related.

All I have to say is GOOD RIDDANCE! It serves them right, that they were the only ones to die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank GOD nobody else was hurt.

They should have guards or police that talk to the shoppers before the doors open and tell them exactly how they are going to be let it. Something like "In 5 minutes we are opening the doors and I am going to let in 2 people at a time"

The thing about this mans death, it wasn't just one person, it was probably hundreds of people. I'm sure there is no way to pinpoint who caused his death.

i like further down where it says like "really, who brings a loaded weapon into toys'r'us?"

and interesting to note how a dense crowd will always form around a fight. it'll probably turn up on youtube, especially if it's girls fighting.
