Hello all!

My name is Walter. I'm from Guatemala but I'm currently living in Canada.
I am really happy to know that this site exists. I have been learning a lot these
past days and hope to learn even more.

My favorite casinos are Trada and Bitstarz. I really like the live casino section and having fun at
the Roulette and Baccarat tables (Evolution Gaming) which is why I have a question now:

Recently, I tried to access the live Baccarat table but I couldn't, I got an error.
I contacted customer support and they told me that Evolution Gaming tables had recently
been blocked in Canada. It was such a bummer for me :(

My question is: Does anyone know why was this? I'm asking because I never was informed about this
nor I could find info here. I found that Evolution Gaming opened a branch here in British Columbia, Canada
and I wonder if that is the reason why.

I hope someone can shed some light/elucidate this matter.

I'm not familiar with evolution but I do know games you can find in landbased such as IGT Balleys Barcrest WMS etc we can't play online (well unless through sanctioned online sites like PLAYOLG and the BC equivalent).

oh and welcome to the forum

Welcome aboard.

Good Question.

I've fired off an email to my contact in Evolution to get the official answer. It may take a day or two as they have been at a conference in London and are probably in transit on the way back to Latvia today.

I suspect that the new regulated environment is the reason why. I do know that players from around the world wont be able to access the new studio, as i asked them the other day.

Not the answer yet, but the Playnow.com website has the following regarding who can access the games on their website.

"BCLC is authorized to market and distribute games within the province of British Columbia only. At this time, registered players may only purchase games when physically located in BC."

In terms of regulatory compliance, Canada is the typical nightmare for gaming companies since it is divided into ten administrative regions, known as provinces, each with their separate licensing regimes.

Probably, since Evolution is a very high profile company it did the best thing and opted out of that market until it gets the necessary licensing.
