i think i'd be brave enough to try and make it go away and then use the ATM.
a canada goose attacked me once. it was protecting its nest that it built in a very public area (on a path people used to shortcut accross the grass on the way to the main door of a building i worked in). i swung my bag at it in defense and it backed away, but then i took the long way around. i didn't want to cause a scene and i think they're legally protected in canada or something. it was so weird though, because usually they run away, but it was hissing at me and flapping its wings and it just kept charging.
