I have another great trip to Casino Rama in Orillia, Ontario planned for the weekend of November 8th & 9th, 2008.

On Saturday night, Roger Hodgson, formerly of Supertramp, plays and on Sunday, it's Dolly Parton!!!

Room prices are through the roof, unfortunately...my friend was told there was no room availablity, but that I (a gold card member, not that big a deal) might be able to book. Rooms were $306 a night, so we booked at the nearby Day's Inn.

Dolly Parton is sold out for the Sunday show, but as of this afternoon there were still tickets available for Monday, Nov 10th.

If any members in the area would like to meet up that weekend, PM me. TaiPan Tours offers very cheap transportation from Toronto

Offer still stands. I'd really like to "hook up" with anyone in the area. And while I did not have any tickets offers for Dolly Parton when she was first announced as a guest, I have two tickets that anyone who wants to come up for the show and meet noonish on Monday can (probably ) have.

Your fun weekend is coming up Jasmine!!! I hope you have a great time and enjoy the show. Ill be at the Trop 11/25(wed night) if you win huge and want to stop by:)

Casino Rama

Jasminebed.I am going up with my work on December 9th and January 12th.

I would like to know the limit spreads on all table games if you could do that for me.

I haven't been to this casino in years, and I wanted to make sure that I brought enough money to gamble there at those limits.

Include the high limit ones too, because I have friends who are wealthy and they would like to know if they offer single 0 roulette and what the high limit spreads are for their play, like in baccarat type games, blackjack and so on.

Thank you for your help.

Nobunaga, I can't be much help here. I would suggest that you contact Casino Rama directly, their toll free number is 1-800-832-7529. I'm pretty sure they do not have single zero roulette. There is a high limit room, but i've never been in. I do know that table minimums and maximums can vary depending on the time of day. It is rare to find a blackjack table for $10 min, but occassionally early morning there may be one. Usually $15 is min. I do know that on a Friday night you will find blackjack with $250 minimums on the open floor, so I expect that they would be higher in the high limits room.

Also, if you call them because you are bring a group, they may arrange some comps for food for your party.

It is a lovely casino, and the food is very good. I've never dined at the Italian restaurant, Rinaldo's, but the food is good everywhere else, although the chinese buffet at the Willow is not as good as it used to be, but they offer an a la carte menu as well...the peking duck is great. I had my birthday at the steakhouse, great steaks and sides, lovely atmosphere and service. The sports bar offers really, really good burgers and pretty good wings, the Couchiching Court buffet has good food, and a really super breakfast spread, including cooked to order eggs. There is a restaurant in the hotel called the Weir, that makes a superb prime rib sandwich, and usually offers an excellent fish selection, usually wild and locally caught.

I hope you enjoy your visit there Nobanaga.

Rodger Hodgson and Dolly Parton reviews

Well, had a great visit to Rama once again. My galpal Shelly won $1000 on the slots the first night, she was super excited, she has not won before.

Rodger Hodgson played with a full orchestra, which was really something. He still has a lovely voice, and all my favourites from Supertramp were played. A choral group was also present during the later part of the show, and I love voice used as instrument. We had 11th row floor seats, which were pretty good, but unfortunately the chairs are not very comfortable, and for me (pretty short gal) they are too high.

We were second tier seats for Dolly Parton, with a great view of the entire stage, and much more comfortable. The two supersize screens provide great coverage, and the camera work is always good. Dolly gave a great show, her personality is vibrant, she moves great in really high heels. Her hit list is so long that not everything was played, but I thoroughly enjoyed the show and her antecdotes. And I have never sat anywhere at Rama where the sound was not great.

December is quiet concertwise at Rama, with Kenny Roger's Christmas show their only offering. You can find concert listings, as well as information on the casino at

I hope to go see Eric Burdon and the Animals in January if my health permits.
