It's all very well saying it's our fault for having a shit system, but surely the whole point is that EVERYONE can play, whether they have the latest Alienware, or the budget box from the discount warehouse.
Those with the "right" system and ISP have a considerable advantage over the rest, but we have no idea just what it is about our kit that causes the problems. Most players probably have the "wrong" system, and suffer the problem to differing degrees.
I know that this problem has been getting WORSE over time, rather than better, and in tournaments where I used to get through all my coins, even with a couple of bonus rounds, I now find that I have a small number of coins left even with NO bonus round to hold things up.
Players may be piling in because of the very high prize pot, the same reason that players will pile into a 88% RTP progressive, yet will scorn a 91% RTP non-progressive as a "rip off".
You can still win with a poor connection, but unplayed coins means unrealised chances that those would have been the spins that gave you that 5 wild wildstorm, or the fantastic bonus round, that makes all the difference between mediocrity and first place.
Microgaming just don't seem to want to do anything about it, and prefer to deal with the complaints on an individual basis, maybe by refunding a few buy-in fees, rather than deal with the problem as a whole, and ensure that ALL players are having a fun time, and not constantly getting stressed because their system and the internet are letting them down.
In the long run, MORE players will end up playing these tournaments once Microgaming make the investment in servers that manage to operate as well as the lobby games - and they clearly DO think that poorly performing lobby games keeps players away, yet cannot see that the same is true in the tournaments.
We ALREADY have the fact that the RTP of tournaments is only 90% on average, against an average of 95% for lobby slots. We are paying an extra 5% per credit in order to have the multiplayer competitive arena to play in.

I was sincerely empathetic to your frustrations! Wow.
