Gift Rap 100 Free Spins

Listening to you, our loyal players, we quickly realized that the Free Spin promotion has caused some dissatisfaction and that there is a need to optimize the offer.

We would like to thank you for your valuable feedback and inform you that starting on Monday, 18 December 2006, the Free Spins promotion will be changed from 1 coin/cent for 1 line to 1 coin/cent for 5 lines. This will increase your chance of winning by five!

We trust we have been of service to you.

Don't know how I missed this thread. Is this a joke? Increasing it to five whole lines? Write them back and tell them you'd appreciate a kiss before getting screwed next time.

Caused some dissatisfaction? As far as I'm concerned, BelleRock is the laughing stock of the gaming world right now. Simply beyond comprehension.

there is a need to optimize the offer.
They can't be serious??? This is like taking a TRI cycle with training wheels (which would be redundant and unnecessary) and removing the training wheels which still leaves the TRI cycle for someone that rides motorcycles...helloo???
This will increase your chance of winning by five!
Are you serious??? It's a joke...it has to be...

At least they read my email. But 1cent 5 lines? Whoa a $5 bonus. Whoopee!

Hi there PD,

Thank you for emailing Belle Rock Entertainment.

We always strive to come up with new, innovative promotions in order to improve the online gaming experience for our players. Our new “100 Free Spins” promotion is our first "guaranteed" promotion where unlike "lucky draws" where only one person can win at the end, every player who opts in will receive the promotional benefit. When we launched this promotion for the very first time on December 4, we could not foresee the overwhelming response.

Listening to you, our loyal players, we quickly realized that the Free Spin promotion has caused some dissatisfaction and that there is a need to optimize the offer.

Should you require any further assistance, feel free to contact us, as we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your convenience.

Kind regards,

I'm sorry, but whoever came up with a) the original promotion and b) the revised promotion NEEDS TO BE FIRED. Do they honestly believe players are )(&$(@$& retarded enough to think they're getting a great deal? The only thing this "bonus" (used lightly) is, is an insult.

I have to agree with others on this; they got their April fool's day promotion mixed up with xmas.

BR, care to comment on this new "revised" promotion?

Gift Rap - Total CRAP!

Honestly, other casinos are capable of giving ALL players an extra bonus of around $25 to $50, so why are BelleRock so strapped as to need to offer a mere $1 just because everyone can have it. The point is that $1000 had to be wagered beforehand, it wasn't just a handout, and they have further damned themselves by claiming they never expected "so many" to show an interest! The reason why there was such interest is because of the MISLEADING AND DECEPTIVE MARKETING - had they been honest and stated that the spins were 1c and 1 line they would not have been troubled with much in the way of a response - I would have played elsewhere!

The "evil" Casino Rewards ran this type of promotion earlier on Mad Hatters, although 1c per line, we at least had all the damn lines in play, which is the whole point of a multi-line slot!

BelleRock have just made sure that no player will ever believe another "free spins" promotion will be any good, ruining this innovative MG feature before it even got going!

You gotta be shitting me.

Now you get a whole 5 lines? Why not just give me 20 free spins at 1 cent at 25 lines? I hate playing games which don't have all the lines in play...

At first I thought it was just a mistake, 1 cent/1 line/100 spins. Now I know someone's not got their head screwed on straight.

This is a part of an email they sent me.......

This 100 free promotion was released for trial purposes by the Promotions Department, and your comments will be kept in mind for the planning of exciting promotions in the future.

We can sincerely understand your disappointment and can assure you that this matter regarding this promotion wont arise again.

It kills me to be missing these bonus offers due to living in US. Oh never mind, i see they increased it 5 fold. :eek2:

Scratchcard

Casino Rewards have sent me a scratchcard, another $50, so there will be teabags to go with the milk. I was even able to rustle up a plate of ham sandwiches and still have change.:D

Instead of depositing $55 and wagering $1000 for this week, I have deposited $250 for a $25 bonus and wagered $300 on Marvel slots for a free $30 (I'll have to check if it gets credited). No more money for RiverBelle:p

These offers are at Intercasino and VIP Casino, sadly no US though.

Unbelievable WR! That is simply adding insult to injury IMHO.

Link Removed ( Old/Invalid) is the owner of Belle Rock Entertainmet. I emailed their corporate offices about this promotion.

I sometimes wonder if the right hand knows what the left hand is doing. Let's see if they respond.

Did anyone notice how accurate Andrew's title is? ...."ENTERTAINMENT"
executive. I entertained myself today and uninstalled 2 Bellerock casinos. Just can't forgive such a screw job. Sorry Bellerock but...:eek2:

Hi All,

I too dont know whether to laugh or cry

I have been in contact with the various people involved and it appears that this promotion was not received as we intended. This is the first time we have run a guaranteed free spin type promo, and by this I mean that if you opt in and qualify you get the 100 free spins, guaranteed! Obviously the risk for us is how much can be won in those free spins. We considered the EV, we sniffed it and we scratched it, but at the end of the day we are at the mercy of the RNG, just like you are. To cut a long story short we erred on the side of caution and we made the free spin parameters very tight, and for this I apologize.

W are addressing this situation by increasing the parameters of the free spins to 100 free spins at 1 cent per line on 5 lines for the remainder of the promotion. This increases the players chances of wining by 5. Keep in mind that this is a gamble, it is why you are at the casino. You purchase and play your favorite games, accumulate a WR of 1000 and we give you 100 chances of winning something extra. If you qualify the free spins are guaranteed. What you win is not guaranteed, nobody can predict the outcome. Any winnings are paid into your bonus account and are subject to our standard terms and conditions dictating the withdrawal of bonus cash.

This was and is not a cash offer, and is not worth a mere $1 or 1 or 1. It is an offer of 100 free spins giving you the opportunity to win the maximum payout on the specified slot machine. We are giving you 100 chances to win the jackpot. There is nothing misleading about that.

Best regards,

Belle Rock

I hate to differ with you but you asked us to deposit $55 and wager 1000 credits for 100 free spins on a 25 line slot. You left out the part about 1 line at $.01. Honestly do you believe if you had put that in the promotional ad anyone would have signed up? I know I would have still played at Lucky Nugget but not even waste a moment checking the box and clicking 'submit'.

I asked an operator on 'live help' how many lines and at what amount would these spins be given to those who met the wagering requirements. He told me that was a great question and had me hold quite a while. When he returned he told me 25 lines at $.50 per line.

To be quite honest I was shocked and told him so. I told him that was way too much and he had to be wrong. He assured me that is what he had been told.

So to be honest I wasn't expecting what he had told me. That was much too much money pouring out of your casinos. I did expect a bit more than 1 line at $.01.

I happened to have been playing in the Lucky Nugget when I noticed the promotion. It didn't entice me to play there I was there already. Figured I would sign up for the promotion.

In one part of the promo as you enter the casino it reads as follows:

Have yourself a merry, little win with a guaranteed 100 FREE Spins on Gift Rap Video Slot. And the giving keeps on going because any wins you make are yours to keep!

Who knows you could be jingling all the way to the bank!

The above statement implies you are giving us the win free and clear with no wagering requirements.

I played my 100 spins and won $.07.

Happy Holidays!

The misleading thing is that there were 100 chances to win 1/100th of the jackpot.

Which you dont keep, but get to wager 30x or more.

Of course, it's entirely up to BR what promos they run and to assess the risk thereof. But IMO it was very misleading because it wasn't explained clearly, whether by accident or by design, and both incomplete and contradictory information was provided to players.

As an aside, while (clearly explained!) promos are welcomed, I would personally prefer to see casinos running promos that conform to the design of the game. So if its a promo for a 20 line slot, then the promo should allow play on 20 lines, even if it is at the minimum denomination. If this means pushing the WR up to reduce the risk, fine, but at least it minimises the risk of not meeting customer expectations, surely a crucial factor in any business model I would have thought.

It kills me to be missing these bonus offers due to living in US. Oh never mind, i see they increased it 5 fold. :eek2:

Just so you're not missing out in the US, I will offer to any US citizen 1,000 $1 flips of a coin (I'll take my 5% commission on each flip, I will be doing the flipping) and at end of the 1,000 flips I will give you a dollar that you will need to flip through another 30 times (commission still applies).

Terms & conditions;
1. Coin Flip games and all variations only count 2% towards WR
2. If the casino deems you to be a bonus abuser you may forfeit any winning, deposit and your 2nd born child
3. Jackpot will be paid if coin lands on its' edge.

Any takers???

There is nothing misleading about it now. However to say you erred on the side of caution is extreme!

If I give you a very generous house edge across all games of 2.5%, players should lose about £/$25 over the course of the £1,000 wager requirement. So we are effectively giving you £25 in return for £1 of credit on a slot where we may win around £0.98 on average which we then have to play through another 30 times on negative expectation games. So you are right no, it is not worth £1.

May try this logic on my bank manager next week when looking to get mortgage for my new pad overlooking Central Park,
"Dear Mr Bank Manager, this £1 is not worth a mere £1. It is an offer of 1 lottery ticket giving me the opportunity to win the maximum payout (£7,000,000) on the lottery this Saturday...."
How can he refuse such a credible request???

So next week on average you are going to give back about £4.90 with a wagering requirement to each individual when your house edge dictates they have probably given you £25 for the pleasure.

I apologise if my maths are a little out but your idea of a good promotion isn't exactly the hottest either.

I will of course return and eat humble pie if and when one of us wins the jackpot on our 5 lines next week...

I unfortunately already qualified for next week's promotion before this week's 100 spins so will get 1 more laugh next Tuesday/Wednesday before I remove River Belle for good.

In fact, it is worth slightly less than a mere $1 or £1 or €1. It is $1 or £1 or €1 with very restrictive wagering requirements attached.

I wish I had been at the meeting where this was discussed. The players have to wager 1000 credits, so they can expect to lose about 50, and you decided to give them 1 credit because you were worried that offering them even 5 might bankrupt you. The bad reputation generated by the promotion must have cost you more than any money you might have had to pay out. Why don't you just admit you messed up and give all the player who participated 25 credits?

:notworthy

I wonder how many players they actually lost because of this? I also wonder if they will send their players xmas bonuses? Is that a dumb question :D

I'm telling you guys, they just don't get it....try having an email conversation with them and you will understand.

Here is how an email goes....

"Hi BelleRock, I am not happy about the promotion that you just had. It was misleading and didn't have the correct explanation about how this promotion would work."

"Thank you for emailing us, we loved hearing about your ideas on shoes, but we are still unclear on what you are unsatisfied with. If we can be of more assitance please don't hesitate to call, we are here 24 hours a day.
1-800-BELLEROCK SUCKS."

Sincerly,
Screw You Executive

The promotion definitely cost Belle Rock less than $1 per player. Far less, in fact, because of the 30x wagering requirement on 'winnings'.

But if Belle Rock is so worried about losing <$1 (after each player wagered $1000 and lost on average $25-50), I will do Belle Rock a favor and NOT PLAY there.

Belle Rock, are you happy now that your dear funds are not going to be at such risk??

(Belle Rock is breathing a big sigh of relief now)

We got bell rocked this holiday season and I hope that CM has a special award for this casino group in 2007.

Hi All,

I too don’t know whether to laugh or cry…

If I were you, I would be crying right about now. I count at least 3 people that have uninstalled the casino and will never be back.

So, was that $1 really worth it in the end?

I think not.

Does ANYONE in the promotions department know the true meaning of EV, or even how to compute it? Were these figures even computed, or did someone just take a wild (wrong) guess?

You know, this promotion would have been more appropriate had it been for a slot named "Scrooge's Fortune".

So let me get this straight. You are considering bumping the free spins to 100*5 cents, is this correct? You are aware that $55 deposits with a 1000 WR are available at hundreds of casinos, only those bonuses are 75-200% match ones?! They are called 20xB, 30xB and heck, even 15xB can be found.

Let's say I choose a 100% match, 20xB, $55 deposit bonus and finish the WR down $25. Now I have $85(up $30 all in all) total which are mine to keep and cash out if I want to. That $30 profit can buy me 3000 spins on any 1c single line slot machine.

So tell me again why your "promotion" isn't insulting or why anyone would even consider it had they known it would be like this?

PS - when you give someone 100 spins worth 1 cent each, it's exactly a $1 value gift. NOT a "chance to win more". And that is all.

This was and is not a cash offer, and is not worth a mere $1 or 1 or 1. It is an offer of 100 free spins giving you the opportunity to win the maximum payout on the specified slot machine. We are giving you 100 chances to win the jackpot. There is nothing misleading about that.

As you may have noticed, this promo has caused a lot of angst. But to be honest, there were really only two problems with it:

1) The value of the spins was not disclosed. I mean, c'mon, if people could read what the spins were worth when they signed up, it would have solved 90% of the problem.

2) The worth of the promotion is, to use the technical term, chickenshit. And besides using fancy math, I'd just like to compare the offer vs two other shops that I've also experience free spin offers with this month:

a) Wild Jack gave me 25 spins at .50 cents on the Gift Rap slot (that's $12.50!), and I didn't even have to deposit or play any money.
b) A local B&M Indian casino, over two weeks, sent me $40 worth of free play slot coupons. And I don't even play slots at that casino.

Doing 100 spins of 1 line / 1 penny probably costs more in Internet bandwidth than it cost to risk to the casino's bankroll.

C'mon people, ease up on the poor guy and the casino...it is a free buck any way you wanna look.

Now help me here...dare I push that spin button or not...for a bird in hand (the buck offered) is better than a spin on the wheel of losers...so what will it be...keep the buck or go for it and see if I can get 99 cents??? hmmm...help me here...this is really a MAJOR decision...ok, ok, here I go,...geezes...no, I can't...help........!!!!

I think I will just keep it to look at until times up to use it and they take it back

Now, I am off to spend the 1000 credits I saved, to a casino that shows they truly love me and wants my money...:D
