As a long time addict, I know relapse is part of the gig, and I messed up, yesterday, and blew £700. It’s Xmas and I struggle like mad for reasons I’d rather not get into.

It’s not the end of the world for me, and I’ve acted since to block gambling on my cards, etc.

I used my correct name, dob and then because I’d changed address (pretty recently), have a different email and phone, I was able to register on one site. Two other uk online casinos immediately flagged and blocked. My middle name, as registered with gamstop, is ultra rare.

So, why is it two good uk casinos blocked me but livescore just let me walk on in?

I read their terms and conditions and they say they won’t pay winnings to gamstop registered customers, which they would 100% discover via KYC. All my addresses until this one are on gamstop. But they are happy to take your deposit, which they may pay back at ‘their discretion’

Why is it still heads they win, tails we lose?

Paddy power were one of the best, win or lose, your deposit comes back and that’s it.

I know I’m not supposed to ‘circumnavigate’ but it’s hardly rigorous is it? Well not until you try and withdraw, anyway.

Livescore haven’t responded in fairness, but I fully intend to pursue and take to the gambling commission. Even if they say ‘get lost’, they will need to keep a record and the complaints mount. It has to be harder, like a bank, to blow thousands of pounds with no hope of winning/withdrawing.

And yes, I have done all the therapy going and still do. Like I said, it’s not the end of the world but it could be for someone. It’s so easy to stop addicts if they wanted to.

Sorry to hear about your relapse. Please consider Betblocker - it makes things considerably harder, but obviously still not bomb proof.

Hope you get through it all. We’d be happy to block your details on our site if it helps. (That will only work if they don’t change!)

Sorry Mark, that’s part of the problem, I work in insurance and we soft check all quotes to protect us from fraud. The same can easily be done by casinos to stop addicts.

Appreciate the sentiment of your post though.
