owner Jacqui Norrish thought she’d bagged £9,599.47 while playing the game Monday night.

But the 41-year-old from Torbay,

winnings.”

Gala Bingo sent a message to customers informing them they would not receive their winnings, but would be refunded what they spent on Bingo Tickets.

The firm says the technical glitch happened on Monday night, causing chaos for around two hours.

It has contacted the Gambling Commission over the incident.

A Gala Bingo spokesperson said: "We apologise to customers for a technical error which occurred during our Summer Nights Bingo promotion for a short period of time, resulting in all players receiving incorrect payouts.

We apologize to our customers wholeheartedly for the errors on our platform Monday evening.

As you should be aware, the games are not intended to be won on by players, only us.

Due to a technical issue, some punters received indications that they were significantly ahead on our bingo portal, which from experience they should have really understood was an unfeasible scenario.

To avert any spurious claims against us regarding this matter, we have cancelled the affected bingo cards and rest assured, you can lose on those for a second time when you next log-in. For your enjoyment, we have sprinkled some lucky dust on them.

Please check our convoluted terms which contain references to game errors.

Thanks for your understanding.

Paddy Power tried that one and look where it got them, I wonder if there will be one punter willing to take them to court and win like with the Paddy Power "glitch".

That’s seriously frustrating. If the wins were showing properly in the account and there was no obvious malfunction on the player’s end, I don’t think it’s fair for Gala to just wipe them out afterward.

I get that terms usually cover “technical errors,” but it feels like these companies fall back on that too quickly, especially when it benefits them. If a player lost money during a glitch, would they get refunded just as fast?

Operators need to be more transparent, especially when real money is involved. This kind of thing just makes players lose trust. Curious to see if anyone’s taking legal action or escalating this to a regulator. *whatever*

Why is it that technical glitches only happen when they lose money and not when I lose money.

I have seen some glitches.. like in Vegas when a woman "supposedly won" half a million dollars on a 0.20 bet and it wasn't a grand jackpot or anything. Was just in the bonus. The max win she could have won on that bet size was around $600. For me, that's a technical glitch as its theoretically impossible to win it.

Its easy for these online casino's to do this as all they have to do is ignore emails.

Devastating but then you'd think they'd have realised it was a glitch considering the ticket prices were only 1p and it probably stated before the game started that the top prize was £150. Unless you won a jackpot you'd be thinking hang on this can't be right? And for it to be happening multiple times.

Still, I hope they take them to the cleaners! I feel sorry for the chat hosts, I play a lot of big bingo promos and jackpots and if any of them ever go wrong or crash and players can't watch the game they go absolutely mad lol. This would be like that x100 when they realised they weren't actually gonna get paid out. Imagine just getting your tickets refunded after thinking you'd won thousands.

Oh, I missed that the top prize was only 150. Definitely would have made me think if I won more than I thought was max. Surely everyone knows the max prize for a bingo/ lottery they buy right?

@SlamRoyale yeah it seems like that's what happened-then got hugely overinflated whilst in play I think. I mean that shared pot is insane for starters lol. That's some mistake tho! You don't really expect that type of thing to happen. I know it does on slots (I've had that happen!) but not bingo.

Many years ago there was a similar issue with a lotto using crypto, linked to Moneypot. But the admin only realized it after the fact. Wiped out almost entire pot and caused it to go bust.
