Scrooge Comp Winners and Happy New Year 2026! 🥂

So, the randomizer has drawn our 17 lucky winners:

For the record, each entrant got a draw entry ticket according to their number of screenies. There was 411 tickets in total. Each entrant could win one prize as per the rules stated earlier.

After each prize was drawn therefore, that winner's tickets were eliminated. So for example @geordiecolin had 25 entries, was first out for prize #1 of €500. The rest of his tickets were withdrawn at that point and so the draw for prize #2 of €250 took place with 386 tickets left (won by @Reelsoffun). And so-on until all 17 prizes were allocated.

A couple of stand-out observations:

@incrediblestuff was seventh out with just 2 tickets, now to be known as 'incrediblespawn'. Nothing personal mate, but if you'd have come out first for the #1 €500 I would have been hiding until Easter in a bomb shelter lol :eek:

@kuff13 was the only entrant with max 25 tickets not to win a prize, our commiserations! Perhaps it's the curse of 'unlucky 13' in the username? :(

Anyway, it's been a long and detailed Scrooge comp so first our thanks to owners Gentoo for putting up the enhanced Christmas prize pool and of course to you guys for entering, in many cases a full complement of 25 screenies. Happy New Year to you all and don't forget check out the new CM January comp that's just been posted.

IMPORTANT:
The winners will get a PM from @conker and will need to provide some details for processing payments, the options of which are stated in the OP of this comp thread. Please do not send your information to any other member, wait for a PM from @conker and reply to that.

Haha I didn't see that until this morning after the draw when I was posting the winner list. So wouldn't have made any difference lol

What a great surprise I had just got back in from kicking mrs Patels cat after watching all of my bets on the gee gees fall or come nowhere then I log into this!

Dont worry, I doubt your going to see anyone playing any of those with real money without a serious incentive to play them, so think your fairly safe until maybe next year? LOL

Like others have said it was a really fun comp format, my fav so far! well done to who thought it up and thanks to CM!

I think @geordiecolin is going to buy Aleksander Isak back for Newcastle United and spunk the other 250 on the horses. :laugh: :laugh:

I hear there were fireworks wars in Holland, now we know how maasdam cheese gets its holes. :p
 
Yeah unfortunately @ fireworks..the gvmnt. is trying to impose a total ban on it, and have been trying for a few yrs now: this was supposedly 'our last year' with some regions/cities already officially banning it...

Where of course the biggest outings of this 'war' ended up being. I mean, taking away the one time a year our most 'vocal' part of the population, can go all out with noise and whatnot: what could go wrong? 🤣

Definitely not trying to 'justify' any of it, because i'm very much against this behaviour, but yeah...

One of my daughters has organised a fundraiser with live bands for a good cause in the middle of Jan so it will go a long way to making sure it is a success. I will be over bidding for auctioned prizes no doubt. It will also cover my travel on our extortionate british rail. Plus I will run a comp in the Pass it on thread
