Like many others it dawns on me what trickery slots really are.

Especially since I use slottracker which makes it clear that you will always
be the loser in the end.
I think in the long run the industry will not be very pleased by programs like it.
Seeing all your loses so clearly should make on think.

And yes, I have the money to play, but let's be honest here:
Even if I were a millionaire, why would I waste my money?

Now, an industry spokesperson would argue it's entertainment.
When you are having a good run, it's true.
But since losing is the norm most of the time it's boring to revolting.

Also most here are not millionaires. Why do you throw money away?

I recently discovered a 18 month thread where I said I quit.
I didn't. In retrospect I really should have.
If I add up the loses they are significant money to me.
Also: the time lost. What are you really doing when playing slots?
Waiting. That's all. It's so empty.

That's my point August 2017.

I don't 'get' how some play slots purely for entertainment. If they're so entertaining why not play them in demo mode? It's the combination of winning and entertainment that makes it what it is.

Problem being that slots across the board have been completely devoid of wins. Watching my balance deplete on SNES knockoffs is not fun

The reason we gamble is because no one knows their peak - for all I know this may be as good as it gets. I have money to gamble but can't be bothered because it's a waste of time knowing what's predictably going to happen.....

I don't think boredom is enough reason to do nothing but gamble, everyone has the capacity to do something better if they choose. Throwing away bucketloads of money chasing monster wins is just....stupid

Is it something about this time of year - seeing identical threads such as this crop up almost everyday. "I lost again" "the whole things rigged" etc etc. You do know that its a mathematical certainly you will lose playing slots and casino games, and the more you play the more likely and pronounced this outcome will materialize.

Then we get the "its all changed" brigade. No - you are just experiencing the long curve of the variance - it was always like this. That is how the games have been, are and always will be designed.

OK rant over:)

I play slots almost every day - 'cos I love 'em!
Been doing this since around 2005.

I only play with "spare" money which I can afford to lose - NEVER with money I need for anything else - but I still HATE losing.

But I play lower variance games - I don't go for the mega-wins.

Some of you might recall I deposited £400 into Videoslots in June - on the 14th to be exact.
After messing around on various games for a couple of weeks, I hit that monster £10K win on Troll Hunters.
I carried on playing my usual games and a few I haven't played for a bit (e.g. Gemix, Wish Master, Cosmic Fortune, Secret of the Stones, TFTUF (lost a packet on that!), etc...) at my usual stakes.
Then tried Bonanza on July 15th and hit that bet x1,258 win on a £2 spin!
Since then I have cashed-out £10,300 and right now (Aug-7th) I still have £2,400 * in my account, having played virtually every day on various slots since then.
2 months of entertainment from one deposit. What's not to love? :p

Of course, this is exceptional.
I have had some other good cash-outs, but I've also had a lot of deposits disappear in a matter of hours. You can't win 'em all!

I'm also playing occasionally on other casinos - just for a change of scene.
I usually only play late in the evening, after work. I would rather do that than watch boring TV!
Slots are my hobby, my source of fun & relaxation and part of my job... well that's my excuse anyway!

KK

* Edit: I now have over £3,100... see Winner Screenshot August! :p

I gamble to avoid what I should be doing, and that is work. But the funny thing is that when you are actually working your guarantee " winning". So I don't get it:confused::confused: And that is the truth. Maybe its because my work is on the computer? I'm calling Dr. Oz! :)

I guess i enjoy the suspense a high volatile game can produce, i don't mean the likes of the rhino cause that huge win will come outa nowhere.never touched btg, and wll contnue not to.
For a gambler, naturally love hitting the huge hit and the huge buzz it can provide. Bu i would never sit on a high volatile game daily as the losses will make the buzz less potent when t comes.
I only play doa and.. occasionly reel steal bdba and slutty pig riches for almost all the time
Now, back i shall go to watch the doa balance hit 0.

So what would make you try a new game?

Slots entertaining?

Deluded? Does anyone truly find these things entertaining?

I play to win if i don't win i hate it.

But as touched on above how sad do we have to be to spend our evenings playing this crap? this is deep root problem majority of us suffer imo and are in denial.

Another one who has come to his senses!

I have about as good as given up and called it a day, all deposits, race winnings, cashback and free spins winnings gone in a flash, lucky ever to go above my deposit. I totalled all my deposits and what I had managed to withdraw and thought 'what a mug' so have pulled back big time :D

Think of slots as a savings account with a -4% interest rate. Deposit accordingly and hope you have some playtime. Then go and do something useful.

I play so many slots in demo mode as part of my work that my eyes bleed. You see about 1/20 of them with my 'new slot announcements' as 95% you've probably never even heard of the developers let alone the games. Let me tell you while the majority are crap, there are also many that piss all over the tripe people like Microcloning, Notentertainment, Play 'n Blow, Blundersick and Playtake serve you up.

But they've ALL got my first line here in common.

And that's why these threads keep occurring. People LOSE on them for that reason. And always will for that reason.

So what would make you try a new game?

Struggle to find the answer to that tbh.
The easy one, would be to say if netent made a doa2 ... ;)
i don't think anything will ever make me play anything else. After 2-3 years of my first ever online slotting experience at 888's santastic slot and never hitting above 150x during roughly the same time/spins (at least 2 mill, possibly twice that) i feel scarred for life, and maybe as a result reluctant to go near anything like an abused cat avoids humans.

I like to win, i like the entertainment, but (i might add, thanks to this site, brian, and its members, and many of dunovers vids as well) from what I've read and seen , i don't dare to test the waters generally speaking. No game that ive had free spins on, has interested me to the point of wanting to risk my own money.

Tbh, i only really play the likes of bdba/reel steal/piggy riches once doa pays 2500x or better lol. I play them as a treat for my victory hit when that evetually comes (if not just as something else to play if wagering on a bonus) knowing ive just hit a decent amount and if i can hit more its a extra bonus.
I guess i like the fact doa has potential to give a lot of crappy wins, but during so keep the balance rolling, with the confidence of seeing many screenies here and having hit 30 times myself wins of over 2000x, and that importantly i dont have to play at high bets. Low varience just doesnt do it for me, i like awp's where u can at times feel somewhat in control (though with many newer qps and bfg and the likes there is little chance of that if u want a significant win regardless of if u just saw it take a jackpots worth of money and return about 20%).

Perhaps, a game with similar crappy wins but also huge potential, along with what can be a suspensful bonus round and that u can play cheaply, might, might just about do it.
Though as slots (hello netent) seem to be going in the opposite direction, which i can understand due to taking my money quicker on a lot of them when at casinos where doa isnt available, i wont hold my breath ;p ... and i also feel that once i stop bothering with doa, i probably wont bother with online slots at all.
