Facebook and Gambling, super affiliate??

I read they are looking to open a poker room to facebook users, as a poker player myself this excites me greatly giving the currently skill levels of the average zynga player ;-)
Though I think an online casino might hurt their image, one of the reason I suspect google hasn't done so.

Actually a few days ago I logged into facebook and on the ads on the side (right under "Dating for seniors" and "How Rachel Ray lost 35 pounds of belly fat" ) I saw an ad for something - it said something like "Play in facebook for real money" with a graphic of a money wheel looking thing. I didn't click on it cause I thought it was some marketing scam, but maybe it wasn't....?

This might be a wake up call for affiliates. Is Facebook going to become a super affiliate of 888.com and Gamesys? Is this a good combination (Facebook and gambling)?

I've always looked at Facebook as a way to keep in touch with family/friends and such. For those who have companies, you can have fan pages like
You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.
and
You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.
.

I don't really like the mix at all - too many kids and young people on Facebook. In my opinion, most gambling issues happen with players under 25. And what's the average age of a Facebook user? I think it's a really bad idea.

Ed note: changed the title some.

I agree with you and I think f/b should stay out of the gambling business but yet it's always debatable if f/b should have good ethics vs making $$$'s.

On a personal level, I don't care to go to f/b and be bombed with gambling stuff, that isn't what I signed up for.

I don't think gambling is any worse than the miracle weight loss cures and housewife's $3 homemade beauty cream that has the world cosmetics industry in fear, which are just some of the examples of the rubbish I see advertised regularly.

It's not just advertisement they are talking of, they are discussing having aps to gamble for real money in selected countries.

In a sense you're right, except for the unlimited potential for financial loss via gambling, which doesn't really apply to facecream and weight loss powders.

I came up with my own all-natural face cream but for some reason it didn't take off.....???

It's a bit like seeing chocolate with "all natural ingredients".....ummm no thanks, not today.

I keep getting these emails:

I don't have a facebook account so I haven't checked it out. So who are they? Are they gearing up for real gambling on facebook???

It's all too weird for me.

Just searched 'ClickFun Casino' on my facebook account and it looks like a game app, like Garden of Time where you play and earn levels and different games open. They are MG games though. AlleyCats, SnowHoney, StashofTitans and several more.

Am going to try it out and see what it is about.

I'm trying it too. The emails could be triggered by this app having an "invite a friend" system that supposedly unlocks larger bonus coin awards. It also accepts deposits, and has terms covering bot play, cheating, "abuse" through "irregular play" that are not out of place in a real money casino.

The only difference, something that it shares with the Virtual group, is that no withdrawals can ever be made - it's all one way:rolleyes:

There is no need to deposit, because every hour you can claim an extra 100 coins just by opening the app. You advance levels simply by playing, and with a little patience you can go all the way simply by using the hourly free coins.
Coins can be exchanged for virtual goods, like in any other Facebook game, but these can never be sold to realise real money. Even if you could find a buyer, it is against the terms.

They operate from the Isle of Man (Douglas), which by coincidence is "just up the road" from Microgaming, and all 9 slots are Microgaming, and nothing else.

They are "copyright" to Clickfun though, rather than Microgaming, and there seems to be a tournament mode.

It looks very much "foot in the door", as many of the terms do not apply to a mere Facebook game, but would be useful to have in place if it developed into a full blown online casino.

Since you buy virtual coins, and play casino slots, how is this not "gambling". Surely the option to buy in with real money is enough for it to be ruled to be gambling, yet it doesn't have a gambling license, nor any country restrictions. It also seems to have no age filters, and when it suggested "friends" from my profile, it did not weed out those under 18. My 17 year old Niece was top of the list.

I WILL of course be inviting all those OVER 18 who persist in sending me crappy gifts from Farmville, invites from Mafia Wars, etc.

This app finally gives ME something I can get back at them with. I can send them "free spins" on a selection of MGS slots, and bonus coins whenever I get a "big win". I can also saturate ther newsfeed with an update every time I win more than 10x bet.

I will NOT be buying coins so long as there is no means to withdraw.
