This hunt really is solid I know about 2 of the 10 the rest I am stumped are they all from major software companies I take it?

Yes, and ALL can be found in Simmo's search tool. See below - click on images to enlarge when you look up a slot. You have an A-Z at the top which then lists all the games with that letter you can click on.

Don't worry there are very few people who've finished their answers yet, you got until a week tonight midnight!

If I got Greek citizenship - could I have a 6-month extension on that deadline please...?

Hi All,

Thanks Dunover, great idea!

Hope we are not too late ..........

ClubWorldGroup also would like participate and we are going to add £250 to the charity pot - with a twist - 2nd prize winner will have to pick charity of their choice.

Good luck to all who are going to crack the code :)

Kins Regards,
Karolina

Thanks Karolina!

And thanks too Videoslots and Tivoli too, there will now be over 1000 pounds going to charities...

P.S. Karolina, traditionally the winner would pass on one or two charity nominations if there was several to the other winners anyway, but Simmo will update yours in the OP to second specifically.

Thanks again, we beat last years' charity total!

Yes, then I could offset any prize against your debts....:D

Dunny (thanks nifty :eek2:) These are hard as heck man. I've spent several hours on it and only have the ones I recognized from the beginning. I'm not complaining mind you. It's time well spent and money saved from spinning :D

good job on week 1

Dunover! You should consider putting a live leaderboard so we can see how everyone is doing!

Cheers, Brett

No way! If somebody was a real grafter or smart-arse and got 5 right for example it may put-off people who are struggling (Like KK :D )

Then as there is only ONE submission each week, the people who got one or two less than others will be PM'ing trying to change their minds or amend their answers which is against the terms (possibly after some horse-trading with other entrants.)

The results will be out a week from today for the first week.

Simply there will be 10 images each week for 4 weeks taken from slot symbols across all software brands...
I don't know if your rules allow you to answer this - but are all the snippets from symbols on the actual REELS?
Or could they be anywhere within the game (e.g. only in a bonus feature, or in the background, etc.)?

Update: I have 3. 2 are doing my head in because I'm SURE I recognise them, but can't name the slots. The other 5... not the faintest idea! :(

Cheers,
KK

Absolutely, definitely and wholly on the reels....!

I remember from last year doing Lotusch's where I tied for first place. There was one of his that I knew I'd seen, spent a day and a half searching and going through about 450 slots and was ready to chuck my laptop in the river when I spotted it on MG's 'Gothic' - that's the thing about these quizzes, they frustrate and torment, but it's almost like getting a 1000x stake win when you finally see the answer, the 'YEESSS!'! moment. ;)

How could you cover St*rb*rst with commentary?

"Er...Right, I've opened it up, pressed 1000x autoplay and errr...nothing's happened. Oh! I have a star, respin and surprise surprise! no win. Wow! a combo of 3 blue gems. (20 dead spins later) my alarm then goes off - I have it on 'snooze' BEEP-BEEP-BEEP! Wipes dribble from side of mouth, off camera. Resets autocrap. Takes overdose and film runs out...."

You'd just get 4 hours of complaining, bad jokes and profanity.

I'm glad you "merely" created the quiz instead of participating in it, as we'd have no chance of winning! As Tony G might say,
you have the heart and commitment and you definitely qualify. :notworthy

I got 3 straight away when I started on Friday night. :)

Unfortunately, as things stand currently, I'm er.....still on 3 :o

So a bit like Chopley's vids then.....only longer and more entertaining (for us)

Thanksa to Saraa for alerting me to Ben's challenge.

I'll match Ben's contribution although I take offence at his slanderous remarks.
At 1.50 for a pint of Cisk it takes me two evenings to drink my way through 250!

Really nice idea and a great 2nd year to Lotusch's great quiz last year.

I will put in £250, thats right Great British Pounds to the overall winners "official" charity of their choice.

There are a lot of casinos accredited here so lets see some others chip in here (amount is not important) and see what we can raise for what I am sure is a great charity.

Andy, just stay home from the local tonight and you can probably double what I put in :p.

I want to thank all the casinos and reps that have so generously contributed to charity.

This is so hard, I am not sure I will try. The only one I knew for certain, I wasn't able to locate that particular image on the slotcomparer site.

Maybe we could have a random draw for those who participate every week? Even if the prize was to be able to nominate a charity for a donation, I know I would continue to try for that.

My hat off to you stalwart souls who are committed.

You should be able to - all images are taken from there, so confirmation is available if you chose right. PM me and I'll check for you, as I have the admin tool for the images.

Don't worry. It takes a bit of spadework to find them, entrants' answers are now starting to trickle in. Think of those hours spent saving money playing and the getting paid for those hours with a large charity donation...like doing some voluntary work if you wish. The answers are drawn from many softwares, there will always be U.S. and Europe facing answers each week to give entrants at least a couple they could get straight-off, from wherever they live.

OK, your evident dipsomania aside :) thanks very much for the donation! I'm sure the winner will allocate a couple to the 3rd. and 4th. places but whatever, you guys and Karolina have doubled last years e1000 total!! :notworthy:notworthy

Hiya,

We will be happy to also make a contribution of €250.

This is a great promotion and I am hoping more than 1 charity can benefit from funds contributed

Thank you Dunover and everyone making this happen :notworthy

All the best,
Dieter

First of, thanks for this cool quiz dunny:p, and i would liove to see the follow up quiz from lotusch too!
Holding the trophy from last year, i would have to participate in that one, be it only to defend that prestigious title, with he possible prizes as extra goodies:)

Now on this picture quiz, i wasn't too sure if i should join, seeing as it would be a bit mean to others, denying them the possibility to win a precious trophy of their own. :p

But then. like KK, i saw the pic's and even though i know almost all of them, i still have the hardest time placing them in the right frame..
My memory keeps deteriorating everyday, and the weed isn't helping there, and even though i might play more slots then deemed healthy, if i haven't played a specific slot for longer then a month and it isn't one of my favorites, it gets placed in a special memory slot, which only activates when i play it again, something like, "hey, i played this bugger before!" Which means i would now have to play around 800.000 slots to retrieve the pictures 7, 8 and 10:mad:

Now, i did check the slotscomparer site, which, no offense, seems i.m.o. pretty useless for this quiz, further a great site mind you, but there is no way to find any slot which you don't already know the name of, and there is also nothing like this database i saw you and Cm refer to, of pictures. Yes, there are a huge amount of slots, and all those articles have screenshots, but you can't really scroll through them, or look for themed pictures.

So maybe i am missing something, and i could use a little help in how to make use of it.. feel free to tell me how:)
I must say El bastardo is a great name, as i already suffered several hours of headaches and depression from it

Jokes aside, freakin awesome that the response from the Casino's has been so great, what a nice thing to do, and indeed already a huge pool of money for whatever good cause will be picked, by me :D sorry, i am only bluffing i will probably be somewhere way down on the list.

So seeing how hard it actually is, and taking in account that you called this the easy week, how about juicing up the prizes for the players a bit too? I read Betat's contribution, which seemed to imply 200 for the winners pool, and 200 for the cause? That may have been wishful reading, but maybe if more Casino's will join this party, they would consider this?

I can also only hope for the same zest the Casino's have shown for El Bastardo, in regards to lotusch i-gaming quest part 2!

Good luck all and have fun:)

:D
Sara!

You would make a great lobbyist, maybe an idea for the next career move?
If i win it, i'll let you pick the charities just as a reward for all the effort you have put into that:)

I thought I had told everyone to not mention me, but I missed two :p

I have a few more pm's to write I guess, but I will.
I have also cleared with Bryan so that the none accredited casinos don't have to worry about being part of this. It's not marketing when it's about charity so all casinos are welcome to join

OK UPDATE!

Thanks for tirilej's lobbying, that was never the intention but now the cat's out of the bag - so thanks Tirilej!

Again thanks to the reps for their donations. This is a large amount so I think I should clarify how I will allocate the money:

I will allocate UKP1000 from 4 donations to the winner (they all seem to be of 250 which works well!) - that means he/she can opt to send it to 4 different charities or ask the 4 sponsoring casinos to all send it to the same one. Up to the winner.

I will the allocate the rest pro-rata to the prizes, i.e. 750UKP/Euro in 3 donations to second place and 500 to third and 250 to fourth.

(There are actually 4 more pledges that need listing on the OP so apologies to AndyB onwards whose generous donations have not appeared there yet. They have been forwarded to Simmo but he's having internet aggro at present, and he will update them a.s.a.p.)

I need this update as I was never expecting the scale of the generosity experienced thus far, so thought it appropriate to stop people wondering.

As for IncredibleStuff, he must've run out if his herbal relaxation supply:eek2:
The slotscomparer site is a source of images for the quiz - if it was so easy you could simply scroll through hundreds of indexed pictures in ten-minutes and find the answers, it would be pointless. Do some work!! Some scavenging!

As for prize amounts, it's not meant to make the winner(s) rich, but just reward them with a bit of cash for their efforts. The incentive was intended to be mainly charities and I think it's quite right they should take far more than the winners do!

When I tied for first last year in Lotusch's quiz my biggest reward was actually Incrediblestuff himself letting me choose the destination of Bet-at's kind 1000-euro charity prize. (He won the tie break and could have chose himself.) I then asked Lotusch to donate my prize to charity too - I just enjoyed taking part!

Scavenging i already did, just to confirm my answers for pictures 1 to 6 and 8.
Now like i said, not trying to dis the slotscomparer site, but why would you recommend it over google, which seems much more suited for picture scavenging, as you can search for specifics items you may think you recognize, which could be very helpful:)

And i didn't mean to sound ungrateful, but do not underestimate the amount of effort it would take to just scroll through 10000's of pictures. even if they where alphabetically ordered and nicely allocated per slot.

About the prizes, what's wrong with a bit of extra incentive for the players? It was just a suggestion, and i really wishfully read Betat's post like that.

In no way i assumed the players should have more then the charities, but i also didn't realize this was more for the charities than the player, i really figured it the other way around, like, a players challenge for the members, with prizes and as added extra the charities. Sorry if i have misinterpreted the incentive, and well, i respectfully withdraw my suggestion in this case:)

Carry on!

The entries are dribbling in now......:)

P.S. Simmo has updated the OP, and we now have TEN donations!

Excellent, as we can give them in exact pro-rata to the 4 prizes like this:

4 X £250 1st.
3 X euro£250 second
2 X $250 3rd.
1 X 200 4th.

All prize winners will now have a great charity nomination!

It's still 3½ week left isn't it?

Yes, I'll keep on top of it and continue to allocate the charity choices/amounts to the prize-winners. It may even be prudent to have a charity-only prize for place(s) below 4th. We'll see how it goes. Whatever happens, it's gone spectacularly well and good causes are going to have a big boost in a few weeks!

P.S. Betspin have chipped in with another £250!

Reading through this thread one thought comes to mind. This really is an awesome community. How great is it that some one puts so much effort to do something so wonderful. How great is it that all of these casinos have gleefully joined in with adding to the cause. Proud day to be a CM member. May karma comeback to you 1000 x the amount you have raised for some lucky charities.

To the casinos who have donated: I am from USA so Club World and Tropica you will be getting at least 250 of my cash just for being so thoughtful. To the non USA casinos I hope others have taken notice and will remember what you are doing the next time they deposit. Well done!

I would just like to thank all the casinos that have now pledged money for charity. Really amazing just how much has been donated and I really appreciate the generosity of all the casinos.

Lol at least next time I lose money I can take consolation that some of it may end up helping people that need it more:D

Hey,

After speaking to dunover's marketing team (Tirilej) we would also like to get involved in this competition and would also like to pledge £250. :D

Its a really nice gesture and shows what a great community CasinoMeister is. :notworthy

Good luck to all competing.

Thanks,
Phil.

This was exactly what I was thinking. There's going to be 4 (?) of these quizzes aren't there?
If so, the casino's EXTREMELY generous donations :notworthy should be split over all 4 - not all lumped onto the first one.

As to the quiz itself - my head is REALLY hurting from bashing it against a brick wall for hour after hour...
I've got 4 slots (3 are piss-easy) and I think that's where it's going to end... :(

That is an excellent idea - some are dedicated to overall places (Like Karolina's 250 for overall second and a couple for overall first) BUT:
As I have 10 or 11 donations/pledges now, if I don't get any objections from the reps we can do a FIRST each week from the non-specific pledges. That will still leave the majority for the final week (the Big 500 from Royal Panda can go to the final week.)

So, what do other people think? I personally recommend we should disburse these charity pledges out from week one, as KK suggests??? I didn't expect this amount of pledges, so was unprepared for the generosity!

As per the general rules, should there be more than 1 tied for first in any week, I will put their names in a hat for my daughter to draw for the charity nomination on Saturday. Say that person still tied the next week, I would remove their name on second week so a different person had that week's choice.

Opinions please! Especially from the reps.

P.S. KK stop being a cry-baby. They're all easy if you know the answers! Stop whingeing and do some work.:D:D:D

At first I did not think KK's idea was ideal, As you are bound to get a good few different head hunter's that know all answers every week but not all weeks, so there might as well not be no pictures and just stick a name in the hat, But now looking that there are a few donation's from casinos than would make sense so a few charity's get something as that's better than nothing, As long as there is still a pot for all the weeks than I see no reason why a few extra charity's get a few quid,

It would be good to see if the casinos agree as it's there cash flow, Changing rules is one thing that people do not take kindly of, I personally do not mind how you distribute it as something to a charity is better than nothing so the more charity's that receive is better.

To the reps:

EL BASTARDO Charity donations:

Some reps like Ben and Bet-at have specified overall first-place, Karolina second etc. Ben has intimated he'd like the winner to use one charity for all his allocated donations so they get a large one-off amount. 32red and the rest 'as I see fit'. So as you can imagine I am in a bit of a quandary here! Would there be any objections to having a winner each week for one of the non-specific donations you reps have made? Obviously if you have made a specific one, it will remain allocated to that overall place. The majority of pledges are not specific so there IS room to have a winner each week, plus a whopping amount for overall first plus the 2,3,4th. overall places. I need to know this before Saturday's results being announced!

There is room to accommodate this and still give a large donation to the overall winner's choice of charity.
So we could have as Ben suggests a good 4-figure sum for overall winner to add to one charity.
Then Karolina's plus another for the second, one for the third and fourth overall too.
Plus one each week as KK suggests.

TIRILEJ HELP!!!

Wouldnt it get a better spread if the charity donations are made each week, therefore helping more people, unless its the same winner each week? IMO that would be better, and knowing that there are a diverse bunch of people on this forum it enhances the chances of a much wider spread of charity money.

Ditto, only i already have found 7 which i am sure of... number 7 and 9 i am sure i know, but have such a hard time even defining the software.. few days of more headaches is guaranteed:)

P.S. KK stop being a cry-baby. They're all easy if you know the answers! Stop whingeing and do some work.

 I actually thought about that before and figured you must really have missed how hard this can actually be since you aren't participating.. easy schmeazy! y' olde bastardo!

Digging a hole to the center of the earth would be a more fitting analogy:D

Have you ever heard of a game called STARBURST dunover?
This!

I will find ALL answers even if it kills me, then i will finish the quiz as a zombie, but i want a 4 hour video, no editing, of you swearing for 4 hours..rofl, I already promised tirilej a choice for a charity if i would win, but i would also consider you again, as a wee bit of comfort after the starburst torture:)

All tongue in cheek of course! :p

TIRILEJ HELP!!!

You are confusing us all.

Of course it would be great to give every week and to everyone and so on but think a little longer please...

They haven't stopped coming. There will be more donations. Every rep doesn't know yet, so if you start already to give out, and then there comes more...well, more job for you.

In case I would win it all I still wouldn't want to give to just one place, but several.
I also think that those who come 2,3 and 4 will have a little money to their choices.

Don't complicate everything yet is my suggestion :)

I think you posted before my reply above spintee. Last year was simple as we had only one main sponsor so the winner nominated the whole large amount. This year we have over 3 times as much and split into 11 separate donations. This means it's much more complicated and I have to make the rules as I go. The rules for the actual quiz and prizes have NOT changed and will not change. It's simply a matter of accommodating all the reps' wishes and place-sponsorships they have made.

I can't please everybody, but KK has a point, as does Tirilej.

My idea above means each week ONE charity can benefit, to be chosen by the winner of that week. If there is more than one winner, a simple draw. (Which is in the rules by the way spintee!)
So 3 charities will have benefitted before the final week.
On the final week there would still be a large amount for the overall winner as Ben and Bet-at would like, in excess of last year's amount. Then of course 2,3 and 4 would get a choice too. This means up to 7 charities would benefit, including a big donation to the winner's choice.

Not complicating it. It's easy. One each week for the leader. (That seems to be a popular choice.)
A big one at the end for the winner plus the other places.
Any further donations can be added to the final pool. I just need to take ONE donation each week until the end.

As each casino/rep has to make the donation somewhere or other at the end, it won't matter if you choose different charities as your pool is comprised of several different donations. So you'd be happy. :)
