Doubling up your big wins?

How many of you have use the GAMBLE feature after a big win?

For me, I loved the idea of going for those break even odds to double-up my bigger wins and I was more likely to do it if I had a bonus WR to beat. Then after several occasions of getting 5-6 consetutive loses (even got 9 consecutive losses once) I stopped. Too demoralizing.

Not me. Never big wins. TBH I'd play it more often but I tend to forget about the gamble feature. I get so wrapped up in the slot that I forgot about this other feature. I actually don't mind it either but I'd never do it on a big win.

My thinking use to be "if there gonna f*ck you over, then there going to f*ck you over SOMEHOW regardless if you use the double up". I noticed
though that the emotional high I'd experience after a big win would turn to anguish if I gambled and LOST though! This just started happening too often
and I like to leave my gambling session feeling happy

Well if my win was greater than x50 bet, I usually wouldn't either. But as for those x10 - x20 wins, hmmmmm.

I think that double up feature is on a bandwidth / rtp , different than the slots your playing and way more to the house , does any one know if they are tested [the double up feature that is ]

As others have said, not on big wins, but on small wins, maybe - esp. if I'm close to busting out. Then if I do double, I can go to VP or Roulette, double it again, and maybe have another session at slotting. I would MAYBE do it on big wins if I was having a really good session, but to be honest, I don't think I have ever done it - if I want to resist, I typically hit spin right away in order to take that option off the table, irreversibly.

How do you figure? Do you mean has it been certified for fairness like the other online games?

FYI; Out of all the casino games, the GAMBLE feature is the easiest game to test yourself for fairness (though its time consuming)?

I sorta semi-tested it twice. First test passed (though probably not enough trials to make any definite conclusion), but on a different experiment under different conditions it failed (9 consecutive losses and I ran out of money so I couldn't continue lol).

If you run 10,000 trials, 95.5% of the time the fraction of wins / (total trials) should fall inside the interval 0.49 - 0.51 if the true odds of winning are
indeed 50%. Hence if you did 10,000 Gambles and got less than 4900 wins, your either in the bottom 5th-percentile (just shit luck), or the casino really is screwing you!

I have used the double feature a few of times on Leagues of Fortune slot. I won most of the time and lost once. The losing one was around 25 and I had a 75% chance of winning. Anyway ever since then I haven't used that feature. I would never use the double up feature where you have to pick a card though.

The pick a card gamble feature is f*cking rubbish. Tried it out on Avalon. I needed FOURTEEN attempts to get ONE correct suit. And FOUR to get ONE correct colour. I deliberately tested the feature on small wins (ones that were smaller than my actual bet) because I had a feeling it was going to give poor returns. But they were not just poor, they were bordering on outright rigged. Just felt like a complete screw over job. Tried it once, saw plenty and vowed "never again".

It's not so bad on the video pokers though. But again, I'd rather just get on with playing hands/spins instead of gambling wins.

Every casino I played had a 0% contribution with regards to WR for these break-even games.

The one T&C term players have to watch out for are the ones regardling low-risk wagering. You have to be aware of any max betting limit rules too, but that ones easy so long as you don't forget what the limit is.

The odds of getting at least 13 consecutive losses are (0.75)^13 = 2.4%. Were you playing with a bonus in effect when this happened?

As a frequent player, weirder stuff happens to me by chance on and off. With that said, you mentioned you did this will small wins because you ALREADY SUSPECTED it wasn't being accurate??? I;d be in the "never again" camp too.

Cause its too much of a gamble The gamble feature on the newer MG slots are a little easier to win on since you can set the amount you wish to gamble. You can go for a lower risk for a lower return or higher etc the wheel then turns and stops either on blue for win or red for lose. As I said I didn't use it much and now have stopped since I lost that one time.

I have only done it on 32Red, its not against the t&c's although it doesn't count towards wagering. The times i did it though I wasn't playing with a bonus.

Wild swings can and will happen in such circumstances.

I think the reason why we are saying we won't risk it because we are lucky to get decent wins on slots as its the nature of the beast. Taking a chance on losing a win is too much of a gamble. Time to take the tin foil off jshort. 50/50 is just too much of a risk and has nothing to do with the fairness of the games.

NEVER, EVER on a big win. Why risk cash in hand for a 50/50 payoff? Pure recklessness IMHO.

I hardly use the gamble feature in online gaming,sometimes on Novomatic slots because you can win a progressive when doubling up a certain x of times or you can win some extra SG/MG which are spins on a moneywheel...
But other than that I keep the gambling button for landbased slots...

If the player got his 13 consecutive losses as soon as he decided to start recording his results, its in the bottom 3rd-percentile and certainly cause to keep recording. If its something he just happened to notice in retrospect while playing then its meaningless.

I remember a few years ago a thread where a member had an epic session over a weekend on Video Poker. I can't remember the circumstances but I do remember he had a total meltdown on the forum. I think he lost quite a lot of money from the double up feature. I tried to find the thread but wasn't able. It could have served as a cautionary tale.

I can't be certain if I was playing with a bonus at the time, but given that most of my deposits are % match bonus-based, then yeah, I probably was. I may have been playing with a bonus already cleared though (I'm not one who cashes out the instant he clears a bonus - often to my detriment).

To be honest, I didn't have any sort of initial thought about a lack of fairness or accuracy. I just wasn't prepared to test the gamble feature on any wins that were greater than my bet. As KK said in an earlier post, doing it on VPs when you win between half your bet and all your bet is probably a good time to gamble. One double up takes your win to an amount greater than your bet and then you can collect. I'd even suggest that if you get a really small win on a VP, like under 50p on a £1 bet when playing 100 hand VP, that might be the best time to take a punt or two on a "go all the way" gamble until you hit the max....or lose.

Yes that's a fair point. I admit that saying "it felt like it was rigged" is the not the best choice of words on my part. Perhaps it would have been better/more accurate to say that it just felt like a waste of time, a complete bore and a waste of (a very small amount of) money. I could have given the gamble feature a proper chance by having further tries at it, and give myself a chance to get a few lucky first guesses, but by then the boredom and the bad first impression had already prevailed.
