got me searching this one now:
that article suggests you run the washer empty with bleach & hot water once a week. that seems like overkill to me if you're already washing your panties & whatnot in hot water w/bleach.
it also suggested doing away with the fabric softener dryer sheets......i think i could do without those......although i can't imagine doing without those when I lived in Michigan during the winter
