Have you ever gone to a new game with 1000x and started playing and after 20 mins you never went down more than 150x because you kept getting regular hits and you thought this game is actually ok

But then bang, slot goes dead and despite over 1000 spins never going more than 20 without a little top up, you find you've just now missed 70/80 spins in a row and get a 2x, then you miss another 60/70 spins and get a 3x and your thinking this is a bit strange

5 minutes later your down 500x and started now missing 50/60 spins like it's nothing

5 minutes after that you see your down 800x and the 30 nice hits you had to start, you haven't had a single 1 since the slot died

2 mins later your 1000x balance is gone and your wondering how a slot that played for 20 mins never missing more than 20 spins MAX, has suddenly switched to a slot that gave you consistently 1/2 hits every 100 spins to wipe your balance out.

Just strange you play a new slot and at first get around 30 x over 10x hits, then suddenly you can go down 1000x and you never had 1 hit, not 1 over a 10x

I guess i won't be surprised when the slots industry joins the likes of Theranos, Enron, Madoff, horse meat scandal, covid scandal, ftx and many others that were supposed to be safe regulated situations but we're simply just frauds

Happens on regular games I play, and sometimes they're only medium variance.

But it's easier to remember the bad sessions. There are times for me that games just bonus non stop. All part of the journey.

Are casinos or provider legally allowed to give you beginners luck on a game.

Can a provider change a slot at a whim, for example, one day you get one version, the next you get another. Casually switching between semi volitile and extremely extremely volitile versions of the game

I've had plenty of 100-600x wins. Not sure how it's possible to hit a max win and it can be a nightmare when it's on cold streaks.

Given PnG is an old school provider, I'm somewhat surprised they use a win cap - there is a 2000x screenshot out there for Tome of Madness.

The highest pay on the table is 10+ purple premiums for 100x (doubled to 200x with wild), so you would need a run of these to get to 2000x - e.g. Mega Wild + Character Wild x2 + multiple 5 of a kind premiums across multiple spins. As Avernite mentions, 100x-600x wins are more realistic.

If we take slots like Rise of Olympus and Moon Princess that I'm more familiar with, Moon Princess says "win up to 5000x" - that would require, at the maximum 20x multiplier in the bonus, five wild lines at 20x or twenty-five character lines or fifty mixed character lines (or a combination thereof).

If scripted end-to-end then there will have to be at least one ball in the bag that triggers that condition, if scripted per grid (e.g. up to 22 of them for a game round), then there will have to be at least one ball in the bag that triggers part of the above, and you'd have to chain those together to get the highest possible wins - at potentially astronomical odds.

From experience, you'll find wins in the 10-25% range, beyond that will be pretty rare indeed!

As always, "win up to..." can give you a guide of variance but similarly can be deceptive - particularly given the number of static jackpot slots out there - e.g. you have a 50,000x prize on a game that otherwise behaves like a 500x slot. I'd love to see providers be more transparent on this stuff, but there seems to be pushback that this would be "confusing" for players... admittedly some of them don't realise what a 88% slot means either!
