being disabled and pretty much house bound playing the slots provides me with many hours of entertainment

spending xmas alone this year i was hoping for a few freebie chips from the casinos i deposit at reguarlly to help pass xmas by ....

sadly this was not the case...only 32red gave anything away to me ...

it got me thinking ..was i being greedy expecting a few freebies..im no high roller but i spread several hundred a month around a few casinos more if ive made a profit in another casino....

is it to much to hope for a xmas give away from casinos you frequent i think not.....but as i said perhaps im just being overly optimistic expecting something for nothing..afterall there in it to make money not give it away..

but i will certainly think twice before depositing in some places again...a little customer service can go a very long way...32red living proof of that

i do hope the casinos been more generous towards others

No, I don't think you are expecting too much. Land-based casinos give out freebies, including cash, presents, food, rooms, shows, and drinks in some places.

One casino I made one visit to and lost less than $100 sent me a $15 Christmas present... and that's cash, no restrictions.

I hope you had a merry Xmas anyway satty, I too was alone for Xmas.

There's one online casino that gives out their bonuses for NYs, so there may be hope yet.

I think i am guilty as charged... Was a bit unhappy about not getting some freebies for christmas, like other players did. Felt some kind of "hey, it´s x-mas. where is my freechip? why do they get one and i don´t...."

But if i am honest with myself and look over the complete last year, i can only say that i got my "x-mas presents" simply on other occasions earlier this year. Sometimes after a bad session, or giving back a nice win. Etc....

I don´t know if that is true for you, but i think we often forget the nice gestures we got over time. Especially when seeing others getting something or having expected to get a gift and it does not arrive...

tbh the freebie from 32red is the one and only free chip i been given by a casino...ever..

not sure why i was hoping xmas would be any different lol...

free chips are like unicorns i think only seen in dreams :eek2:

Im always wanting freebies when Im between pay days and have nothing to play with:p but I never really get overly excited over them. Probably because the occasions I do win on them, are few and far between

I really look at freebies as something to kill time with because I never win on them :) Oops! I lie:o I did for the first time ever win on a freebie and that was the other day eek: Still cant get over it:D

But I hear ya, I think of the casinos I played for years literally and I never recieved free chips, just bonus offers and I dont really do bonuses. Then the last few months I have been trying out new casinos galoore and liking them:D and the majority have passed a free chip my way.

I guess it all depends on the casino's ya play:thumbsup:

When I started playing online, I was quite the novice, and didn't even know what a 'comp' or 'a chip' were. LOL I just enjoyed playing. :)

I still try not to expect anything from casinos. They are businesses, after all, and they offer entertainment that is almost universally negative expectation for the bettor, to use a term from statistics, i.e., 'the house always wins in the long run'.

If they can afford to throw a chip my way from time to time, I appreciate it and always try to thank them. It's a kind of relationship, and both of us have to cultivate it in order to see it grow.

Must admit I was a little bit disappointed with 1 or 2 casinos.

We must remember that this is a business and casinos are here to make money just as much as we are here to make money from playing them (hope that makes sense-I've had a few).

We can't just expect freebies everytime theres a special occasion, however I do think casinos realising how much we have spent there over the course of the year is a nice thing.

Spent quite a bit for me at 32Red and rarely taken much out but after recent generous acts, amongst other random acts and just awesome service I have to take my hat off to them.

GoWild did seem a little quiet though as I never took anything out from them since my initial deposits which was a while back, and their bonus' do seem quite poor to me-think I saw an extra 5 per cent being thrown on their usual deposit bonus' and their free spins aren't always on the best slots -felt like they had seen 32reds wheel promo and knew they couldn't compete.

But then again who can?

If you think thats bad - try asking for about 20c to top your comp points up and get treated like a punk ... I thought I've seen it all.... Until now... You could deposit $50000 and it wouldn't matter to some places... Once you're a punk in their eyes...forever you will be one...

Another good point,I have trouble accessing my points on 32red for some reason as the page won't connect,I asked them if they could check them and check if they were correct,as they seemed to be rising slowly,as a good will gesture they upped them to 1000 so I could play a little.

I didn't cashout but I tell you what,I was damn grateful-you simply don't get this service anywhere-its just unheard of.

I have reported this issue to Pat Harrison - The page continuously times out in Flash and Download. Its easier to access from Flash, the download is annoying - You need to close the 'My Account' tab and then try again - It sometimes takes 3-4 attempts until I get to see my rubies.

Another issue for the past week or so (seems to have been rectified) was that the rubies were being added much much later. You would receive a points but it could take anywhere from 1 - 5 hours for them to accurately reflect.

One thing to also bare in mind is that NOTHING is free. Casinos will offer Free Chips and Bonuses IF you have spent the money.

Money will also be spent as 'An Investment' to try and lure you back for repeated business. The Online outfits' offers (Most of them) fail miserably in comparison to B&M Casinos.

No - I do not think that 'We expect too may freebies' - We spend money, and it must be recognised. It is in some places, better than others but then again some places expect you to feed them and you should ask for nothing in return - That's where my patronage to them stops.

its a good point nate..

i suppose most casinos look after the high rollers first..as there the ones most likely to loose large sums..

id be interested to know from any high rollers about any xmas freebies they got..

guess i dont spend enough to warrent being lured back :D

I agree. The casinos where I play are quite good (even outstanding) in terms of accommodating me from time to time.

There was one casino I played at where, I asked for a chip one time (and my only time); the rep said, "just use play chips". I uninstalled. It's not like there aren't other places that will do me a favor once in a while, or even if they can't, they refuse but politely and respectfully. I can lose my money to those who appreciate it. I know that sounds kind of backwards, almost Orwellian (that a business doesn't appreciate that I give them my money), but that's the state of online gaming amongst the lesser outfits.

I was looking through my numbers for the year, and it's obvious that being a big spender or high roller does not guarantee that the casino will give you any special holiday comps in return. And I can't say I'm surprised. The casinos that do take care of players at Christmas are usually the same ones that take care of you for the rest of the year as well.
I mean just look at the casino rep activity over the holidays. Some of them have been working round the clock to make sure every player is happy! Others signed out before the holidays, and probably won't be back until new years.
Blissfully unaware of what's important for most players at the end of the year lol.

I agree with Nate, there is nothing for free. A freebies are a way to show how you appreciate your customers esp those big ones.
So in return, they will continue giving business.

This year, there are at least 2 MG casinos should give me some big bonus but they did not.
That is fine for me, so will be my activity on their sites next year. Nothing...

I believe we shall all do the same thing.

Otherwise, they will take our business as granted.

Just my 2 cents

Cheers
