Totally unrelated to casinos but was hoping to reach some US members in this part of CM.

Had DirecTV installed last month, really happy with the service/channels etc but one thing is really bugging me. If I choose to record a programme manually (or part of a ongoing series) and that channel runs late due to Golf, Basketball overrunning etc (CBS is pain with this at weekends), I miss part or all of the programme I wanted to record. Is there anyway around this?

On my SKY TV (British equivalent of DirecTV) the programme guide automatically knows a programme is running late and adjusts the start/finish time. For example the FA Cup overran by 80 minutes this evening and re-programmed to record Britans Got Talent at the later time.

Thanks for any help, Customer Services had no idea what I was ranting about in my British accent!

Record the program you're wanting to watch and also record the program following the one you're wanting to watch, problem solved.
I have the same issue with Comcast DVR when sports go into overtime etc..

The DVR will not adjust program times therefore if there's a chance of a program running over you'll need to do it manually by recording both so you don't miss anything. :D

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.
Well, each to their own.

Thanks, will try to remember that next time around.

I have an excuse this year, my local village idiot makes an appearance this season :D

Can't they simply put him/her in the village stocks and pelt them with stale fruit and rubbish? Same humiliation and embarrassment, but without being prolonged to fill up hours of the dross-TV schedules.

I did not know that you could get DirecTV in the UK, is it the same as the US version Direct Tv cause when I lived in the US I had it and really liked the service. Just curious.:)
