Hey guys,

I've been gambling for many years and I've won over more than $50,000. But it seems that I can't get to save my winnings. It's always being spent or donated back to the casino!
Any of you guys manage to win and save and invest? :)

.

Yeah, I have in the past used some of my greater winnings on buying things, but it has been a long time since I have had a very decent win , so now it mostly ends up back in the casino :)

Although I am planning on buying a few new things once I have won the Mega Fortune jackpot :o

When I played land base casinos I have invested my winnings on a new car/trips. but playing online I really havnt infact mad at my self as this weekend had the best playtime in months on lucky nugget got a 25 deposit up to 1700.00 played for 5 days cashed out but only to reverse and loose it all. I think I know with me some casino holds your money to long and to many of us and only our own fault reverse it. I should of took the 1700 when I got use 1500 for other things like bills and save 200 for casino playing next week, that what is in my mind I always say but it never happens.
It is great to see/hear stories of players that keep there winnings. Foresure next time I will:confused:

When I win significant sums, I do buy things with them. This year I had solar PV fitted after a big win. In a way, this is a 25 year investment due to a government backed "low carbon" scheme because I am paid by the government for generating my own electricity. On top of this, I buy less from the energy company, and even get to sell them my daytime leftovers. It is similar to buying a bond that pays around 10% per year on the capital invested for a fixed 25 year term. The payments are also index linked to inflation, so rise every year we have general prices going up. The panels are far too big to fit through the monitor when I have casino banking open so they cannot be donated back to the casino. An earlier significant win allowed me to pay off the remains of my mortgage early, and also get out of the endowment shortfall trap that hit many mortgage payers.

This year, there is still a fair chunk left to spend, and this is separate from the chunk in Neteller that is available to be donated back to the casinos. Much of it is earmarked for a garden room extention to the rear of the house, and another big chunk has been invested into the UK's ISA investment scheme, a means to hold limited investment each year completely tax free, and to provide a bail out fund should any disaster strike.
I have also bought myself a top of the range laptop, and one niece a mid range laptop for college, and about to buy another niece something similar for university. I could do with a new desktop gambling PC too, and will probably be getting that this Autumn. New bathroom and kitchen is also planned.

It is the smaller wins that tend to find their way back to the casino over time.

Just awesome.

After VWM's large investments I almost feel embarrest to say that I did buy a new wonderful computer for my winnings last week.
I have also paid my bills with it and bought a lot of small things that I wanted.
It maybe wasn't so large comparing to other winnings, but to me is was a lot.

I have also played some of it back, and will play more. I have to, because otherwise I can't win more:D

Same here. It's a question of having a good think about doing all those expensive things on my personal wish list that would normally be too expensive to consider as anything but a dream.

If I hit REALLY big, I would buy a bigger and better house, on a decent sized plot of land. Nothing high maintenance unless there was enough left over to "get someone in" on a regular basis. I could park by my front door, rather than fight for a space in the block. I could even have a camper van without worrying where the hell I could keep it. I would then either sell the current house, or rent it out as an investment venture.

The dream is to hit something like the Mega Moolah right out of the blue, and suddenly have multiple millions to spend.

Before I stopped playing I had a couple nice wins playing Tally Ho. I paid off some bills, bought a new tv (which is dusted daily, very rarely turned on since I seldom watch tvLOL) and made some needed small household repairs.

My only investment in the last few years has been on a college student. So far the best payoff has been acceptance into graduate research at a top university. Of course that means the student who has also worked since high school is still in poverty :)

The good thing is that it is in a rare field that blends science/tech and should yield a good future and job. Then I will be a very happy investor and can start spending my winnings and any other money on ME.

I have had a few nice wins from which I have managed to buy a couple of things..

Got about 3 LED 3D TV's - the biggest is about 52inch (I plan on buying a bigger one soon), Laptops, Sound Systems and other gadgets...

Looking at another 2-3 Desktops to permanently hook up to each LED TV as a Media Box...

On the other hand, it just wouldn't be gambling if you didn't 'Try' again with some of the remaining money :)

I've been lucky enough to have a few decent wins, bought myself an electric scooter and new TV a couple of years ago, went to Malta and Paris last fall, quite a number of overnight B&M trips and concerts as a Platinum Player.

If I won it, I've been able to get my daughter to accept some cash. She's pretty independant otherwise,

I'm waiting for my largest win ever, and it will pay down my mortgage by quite a large chunk, and take me to Cuba.

Oh, and the liquor cabinet usually gets stocked, even with some of the smaller wins. Don't seem to do that great at saving there though.

many years ago i won very large sums at pokerstars and pokerroom, i actually lived one whole year without working but only playing 3-2hours a day circa 1200$ + a day, year after that i won so much i moved to los angeles and worked with my music there. when i moved back i found online poker had changed, bad players disappeared and tables was full of sharks so i stopped while things was good for me, only to find online slots "my biggest mistake"

I win 10-40 salaries once a year, 400 once. I bought a few things, but not many.

Regarding this, there was an epic discussion at live chat:

Casino: Sorry, nothing I can give you.
Me: But I have .......... deposits last months.
Casino: You had a big withdrawal too.
Me: And I gave most of it back.
Casino: Yes, but not all of it!!!!

:lolup::lolup::lolup:

I cashed out close to 3,000 and immeadiately booked a trip to Vegas (hence the name). I go for a week in October. The rooms are free and flight for 2 cost 500. That leaves 2,500 to spend in Vegas. I go to Vegas alot but still get pumped for easch trip.

Well, I normally manage to remove 33-50% of any bigger wins from the gaming budget.

Had a very nice lottery win two years ago, only put ap. 10% of that back. Instead I bought a nice car (nothing insane), set up a vacation-fund with money for a very nice yearly vacation for three years (only spent one of them so far), and set some funds aside to renovate my apartment (which Im still to lazy to get started at).

Had a nice vaction last month that included Las-Vegas, the vaction money was from the fund, but the gaming-bankroll was from online slots (since the vaction fund is off-limits for gambling), managed a bit of a win, think ap. 700$ surplus - which I used for "upgrading" the rest of the vacation.

That being said, I have also had months where I had to skip something I would have liked to do, due to low funds from gambling :o as on rare occations a few $ from outside the gambling budget seems to sneak into a casino deposit :(

One piece of advice: if you ever get anything "really big", make sure to use one of those savings accounts with hard limits/punishment for untimely withdrawals, a little artificial backbone never hurt!

I have a question for the people that managed often to win decent amounts:

a) which games have you played? Slots? Table?
b) which bet sizes? Mostly high rollers?

Cheers

I am definitely not a high roller. I make small but regular deposits if I like a casino. I prefer slots but occasionally will play Video Poker. My bets are seldom above $1.00 and that includes when playing VP. Once in a while I will be daring and bet higher but it seldom pays off. I do know I have often won after playing a long time and that includes jackpots. Usually with $0.60 or $0.75 per spin which adds up quicker than you realize. Which is why sometimes I just stick to the minimum $0.20 or $0.25 a spin and just enjoy the fun. Sometimes I actually win.

Ok, my belief is that you only playwhat you are required to as a PLAYTHROUGH amount, if there is no playthrough amount then take your winnings. I believe that it is very bad luck once you have won over $200.00 to play with that money because you will lose it back. Take your winnings and place a new deposit I also keep a running tally both in quicken and manually of wins vs losses and amounts. IF the casino you are with does not allow deposits while you are waiting on a withdrawal request, dont play. This saves you money.

I do this for three reasons.

1.) To see whether or not i am winning or losing, and at which casino.
2.) To manage how much i am spending at casino's so i do not become addicted to gambling.
3.) To see my totals of money won vs spent over a short period of time and long period as well as overall.

Different people will have different ways of doing things and how they view things and is open to each person.

Add me to the list of never being one of those to save it. I always spend it or donate it back. I did make a large down payment once on a car I really needed - my other one was about to crap out and I wanted something less than 10 years old, so I was able to buy a brand new Toyota Camry back in 2009! Very excited about that... and I did splurge on a trip to Vegas once with my winnings in 2003. So technically I just donated back to a brick and mortar casino, lol. I usually take my husband out to a nice dinner, buy a purse I want or pay bills with it. Nothing too fancy. It seems I always win when I need it for an unexpected expense or something so I hardly ever get to do anything super fun with it except for those two times.

My biggest win ever was from Rich Reels. It was "Level 11" software which was a
substitute for MG for the U.S. after they pulled out.

Anyways, I won This:

And that brought my wife and I for 5 nights to:

And had a grand time at a nice hotel there called:

The online win helped me make more wins while the wife sleeps upstairs in the hotel room like:

Other wins that were not pictured were 3 of a kinds at a 3 card poker table with a $10 bet on bonus
and another straight flush win at a different table, same hotel with a $15 bet on the bonus. Both times
dealer qualified.
:cool::cool::cool:

Best part of the whole chain reaction story is, I was up quiet a bit in Vegas and decided
to visit a high-end department store there with the wife and bought her something rare
and draws eyes wherever we go...

I have a lifetime list too. I can see the bigger picture as well as the big hits and withdrawals. I also use this list to predict when and where I might get bonus banned next by seeing if a withdrawal puts me ahead over the lifetime of my account.

Of the proceeds of my winning spree this year, some £50,000 has now found it's way out of my Neteller and into my bank where it is now going to get saved or spent on other things. I have locked around £11K away in long term investments. One is a fixed 2 year tax free bond paying 4%, the other is a stock market linked investment. Both have received the maximum investment allowed under current tax regulations. Another 11K cound be added to it next April, unless I find something else to spend it on, or the roof falls in.

It's to keep me covered for the indeterminate amount of time before I get my next winning streak, which may never happen to this extent again. Of the rest, Casino La Vida has received the biggest donation by far during their slot survivor event. It has turned out to be a very unlucky account indeed, and my failure to find the cashout button on a couple of occasions only made things worse:o

So what's the trick to save?? Let me start.. so I win let's say $500.00.
So what should I do?

1) Withdraw and don't reverse?
2) Make a fresh new deposit on the SAME casino or different casino?
3) Leave the money on my moneybookers or neteller account or withdraw to bank with fixed deposit?

Any advice? :)

Haven't had many withdrawals over the past couple of months, but I did have one large one back in June/July time, and it paid for my flights for my weeks holiday, a brand spanking new Samsung S2 unlocked mobile phone, a Samsung Galaxy Tab, some new Adidas trainers (I love Adidas trainers), and a nice new cooler fan for my computer.

Around 1k total, hardly the 50k vwm is talking about, but it made me happy!

Although I have to admit my playing style has changed quite a bit in the last two years, and I haven't even analysed all my results for them yet, from 2001 to 2010 I made $57,000 profit from playing online casino bonuses.
Obviously over 10 years that's only $5,700 per year on average, or less than $500/month = not a huge amount.

The major things I spent my profit on were my trip to Vegas in 2004 and first laptop computer in 2005. The rest just went into paying off my debits (in the early 2000's) and just general everyday spending.

I never reverse a withdrawal, that's probably my number one gambling rule. I made this rule long ago after winning big and plowing the money back into the slots on a much larger bet. Not a good feeling.

Once the money's in my bank account I immediately head to an ATM and withdraw the cash and then deposit the money into a different bank account. I have a high interest savings bank account. I don't withdraw from this account more than once a month otherwise I loose the interest. So far I've got a few thousand in there, I'm saving up for a holiday, I donate money to charities occasionally, and buy games for my gaming consoles as well.

I also sometimes make a list of things I want to buy. Then during a session once I've won enough money to buy said item I cashout.

I'm a low roller and mostly play for entertainment. I'll never reverse a withdraw. I'd rather play on new funds according to my weekly gambling routine/budget :)

I never win huge amounts (my biggest single wins to date are both on SWR - about £1150 x 2), but I do withdraw an awful lot, several hundred at a time and the odd thousand or more here and there. I'm addicted to withdrawing! :D Have bought loads with my winnings; new TV, new PC, clothes, gifts for my fiancée and kids and so on and so forth.
Whilst I might be down on one or two casinos, I'm up loads on others. Betsafe for instance - it's basically my ATM since I joined them.
The trick is to get into a habit of withdrawing, it's a great habit to have! And try to play casinos that flush and or/don't allow reverse withdrawals; enjoy the winnings ;)

You're Spot on Rikki :)

I withdraw as often as I can. I have bought a good few items.. Tv's, Laptops, Desktops and spoiling the GF amongst other things. On my latest spree I got myself 2 x I7 Desktops as upgrades to my media boxes.

I DO throw huge chunks back... As long as I am looked after by the Casino and as long as I have something to show for my winnings I am happy.

So everybody just have won thousends of euros from casinos and bought loads of stuff with those winnings :D. Seriously?

Is casinomeister full of professional bonus whores, or how else is it possible that people are on profit from casinos trough long period of time o.O.

Does not make sence.

Did not red the whole read, so probably just got the wrong impression.

Hi yes you are wrong here :D

We are talking about if you hit something nice. Do you save your winnings or buy something nice for them.

Let's talk for myself. I might have won nice $1000 at Lucky Red Casino couple weeks ago and made withdrawal. I did not but could have bought a new laptop which I am missing badly. Instead I gave my sweet fiancee bit of money and have banked some away for holiday this May :)

This is what is main thing in this thread. Not just about profit in whole from casinos :)

If we take i only made deposit of $40 when won the $1000. Then looking at it I might have spent over $1000 last couple years at that casino without a withdrawal. Not true in this case though but just to give example

So casino gambling is one way like an investment. Sometimes it pays of big and nice. Other times big failure and loss. :p

But in general thread is about what you do when you win something nice from a deposit is what I understand without reading whole thread trough :D

Although overall in the big picture, I am rather heavily 'down' as a player, I've had a system for utilizing my winnings on a week by week basis. I always have a small target of things for that week that I want/need to buy, for example, a tank of petrol, my grocery shopping, whatever it is, and when I get to that amount of winnings, I withdraw. Recently I needed to replace a set of wheels on my car, so the goal amount to win was £400, and when I hit it, I stopped and ordered the wheels straight away. Short term, this system is gratifying and makes gambling seem worth while as I'm covering the costs of things I want to buy without it coming from my salary, so everything feels like a freebie. Yesterday needed £40 for groceries, won £40, cashed out. Do that kind of thing all the time.

Biggest win I've had in one go was £3000 but I didn't do anything significant with the money as it was all pretty much given back to the casino before long.

Well, i think on a long term the casinos will get all of it back (no matter which one). The best way is to stop gambling when your´re up and save it - of curse, then you´re the winner.

I for myself can say that i didn´t it this way. I always returned to the casinos, lost nearly all of my winning regarding online-gambling. No need to speak bout Vegas, but this really costs me a midsize BMW during the last years. At least i got my experience of the U.S. Southwest while travelling thru AZ, NV and CA.

So long: i quit gambling online but i will always spend a few bucks when i have my vacation at a land based casino.

Have a good one,

Polli

I have won a nice amount.

In the beginning of my gambling history, I just put it all back into the slots...as I was so excited and well , just couldn't put the slot down.;)

I became wise after a phhhew years and then I started to withdraw and I became more excited after I looked at the 'stuff' I bought...Mortgage paid, utility bills paid..and a few luxury items.

Now,I am not depositing too much as I have other issues to deal with but it will come around again.

I am feeling slightly at odds these days about depositing because of restrictions.

For years I was a barfly, and a bingo hall player. I spent way more than I did online, with not as much to show for it.

Last year was a bit of an anomoly, got very very lucky once and pretty lucky a few other times. Way too much went back in, but I did make a wise move with a lot of it.

Past years, some of the stuff I bought I totally could have saved for had I not played. But online gambling has been my entertainment, I wouldn't have saved that each month for a year to buy a bike, or two years to go to Europe, I would have visited the bar, ordered takeout, gone out to eat, taken a cab.

It's a little like a savings account that pays minus 7%.

Good one. Couldn't have put it better myself.

Had a killer 2 days last week over at 32red. won a little over 5g's.
Was able to pay off and close my very last credit card ($1600)
Clear up and close my $1000 overdraft at the bank,
bought myself some bad ass toys for my garage (New Table saw, air tools, new air compressor etc)
and I suprised my wife with an ipad mini yeterday..

Been a wicked month for me and it's about God damn time ..:D

Couple weeks ago i hit a good run at ladbrokes and cashed out just over £2k. Good end to what was an incredibly bad run i was on. Infact the run was so bad 32red actually gave me a free chip since my RTP for Jan-Start feb was shocking. Got that back looking respectable hitting an upward swing. Didnt cash out (never do on a free chip unless its a deposit bonus) Then caught Finer reels and immortal on a great day at Ladbrokes . So far resisted temptation to put my Laddies cashout anywhere near a casino. Currently having a little gambling hiatus till the new LOTR clone drops.
