Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone had any advice on prepaids for depositing ? Its been awhile since Ive used one and the last time I tried the netspend no longer worked :( . Any suggestions ?? Thanks :)

I've actually had success depositing with a vanilla visa at Liberty Slots on more than one occasion. However, I know some on this forum who said that they didn't have success with the vanilla visa.

Where would you be playing? Maybe the casino has Person to Person transfer deposit option. This is personally my option of choice as I've had good success depositing and withdrawals using WU from places like Bovada and sportsbetting at 5Dimes. FWIW.

Hope this helps

prepaids...

Just used my Netspend today....however, something odd happens when you try to use it more than a few times at Inet....it gets declined, even if you have an available balance and had used it previously the same day. I think it has to do with choosing the "instant" deposit option, where you don't fill out your address, etc. But seems to be working fine at all the other RTG casinos I play at.

Netspend worked for me during the holidays. I did NOT try INetBet as in the past my old NS card had been 'flagged' more than once after deposits there (card was eventually blocked or locked or whatever and I never tried to get it up and going again). Something to do with deposits showing as I NET BET .... LOL That was a couple of years ago. Got a new Netspend at Xmas time... deposited uneven amounts online... 49.89... etc. And I didn't make more than one deposit per day anywhere.

I have no clue about withdrawing. It's really weird these days.

Prepaid Visa giftcards that I purchase at my local credit union, work everywhere that I play.

You can purchase in any denomination up to $500 per card for a $3 fee.

I like it because it keeps the transactions off my debit card account or other cc.

I asked the first time I went in to purchase one, I explained that I needed one for international "travel" to send to my nephew who was traveling in Europe. They told me that the credit union ones I was buying would work for international purchases. It's never been declined at any of the sites I typically play at.

So maybe there are different types -- but try a credit union one and perhaps it will work for you also.

Like you, Mousey, I have not played since my Neteller account was closed (4 years ago?). But in December I thought I would give it another try. I purchased a prepaid card and was able to deposit at InetBet 4 times now. I have not won yet so I don't know how the wd process will be. I consider it an investment because I know that I will eventually win. On the card it shows MDS and an 800 number.

FYI, I've not at any luck with green dot cards as they aren't coded for international transactions.

I prefer to use my debit visa card. Its hooked to my bank, and just makes life easier for me to deposit directly from there:cool: Irritates the heck of me when I cant use it at certain casinos and I'm reduced to using my credit card (which is 'money in advance' and use of it usually bites me in the *** later) or to using Money bookers which I dont like using using as well, since I hear too many horror stories of peoples money booker accounts getting hacked etc eek

Plastic fantastic has always been my favourite mode of financial transations:cool:

Not having that problem at all with 3 accredited RTG casinos. I always use my green dot. The temporary use card never worked for me, but when I got my permanent reloadable one, it's worked almost every time.

I use my regular mastercard and visa debit with no problems. Have never used a prepaid card.

one reason I have never tried prepaid cards is I don't want to tie up my money in a card and then it doesn't go through at the casino I am trying play.

I think regular cards work just as well anyway.

One reason I don't use my credit union issued Visa debit card is that I don't want them to know what I'm doing. I could care less what the prepaid card folks think. ;)

Netspend has the option of being able to transfer money from your bank to the card for $1.95. After you get the account verified, it works like a charm. Only problem for some will be that you can't transfer but so much at a time. But keeps your real bank from getting nosy and NS doesn't care.

Yes and there is also an option to send money from a personal account to netspend via way of bill pay from your own bank. This doesn't cost anything but it is not instant.

As others said, I don't use my bank account because I don't want to answer any questions from my bank. That happened once but it's not going to happen again. ;) Prepaid works for me and for those who said you don't want to tie your money up, it doesn't. You can always spend it at any retail location.

Just make sure the card is open for online and international transactions!

You might want to make sure you have the Verified by Visa or Mastercard Secure number.

If your Casino ever asks about a 3DS number, that's what they're talking about- you can get those from your card issuer!

Those are just like the pin-number to your ATM card, so keep it a secret ;)

And with a green dot you can always get a cash advance and there are some atms that don't charge a fee.

What makes you think they will know what you are doing? Your comment shows lack of understanding about how your deposits charges are processed.
I am not telling you that your way is not as good as mine. I am only saying that my way hasn't ever caused me problems with my card issuer in the 5plus years I have played. But, you need to know how the system operates and your legal rights when it comes to credit or debit charges to feel comfortable I guess.

Would you care to share what the rights of American players are when it comes to credit/Debit charges? :) I know I'd like to know!

Thanks!

I can't count how many times my bank has flagged me for a gambling transaction, just for potential fraud though. I just contact them and tell them "it's all good,I made the charge". I don't think they have ever asked what the transaction was for, if they did I would tell them a internet purchase. If the bank wanted to know what I was buying I'm pretty sure I would get kinda angry and tell them they can keep their card if they can't respect my privacy.

The way I understand it is that it's not necessarily illegal for me to gamble online, tho it might be illegal for the bank to process the transaction. However, even if that's not 100% true I will likely continue to gamble online until my state makes it a felony to attempt to gamble online. FWIW
