Bit of a strange one this, but my thoughts are stirring on this subject!
Historically I have played with deposit limits. Some months increased to a larger limit, some months reduced if I have lost a fair bit. Here lies my thoughts!
The deposit limits I have put in place are basically what I am prepared to lose, therefore I start playing under the thought of thinking it is ok to lose this amount. Obviously if a large win came in, then I would be prompted to withdraw, but if say I won 10x deposit amount and then lost it, my mind would only think 'what the heck, it was only a £30 deposit lost' instead of thinking I just lost £300.
Of late, I have removed my limits and yes, I can be prone to mad sessions and being silly, but on the whole I am more respectful of what I can lose. This weekend was fruitful with £610 deposited and £2,000 withdrawn over different sessions at different establishments. I ended up depositing more knowing a previous withdrawal was being processed and would cover it.
Mentally here lies the difference with me:
- With deposit limits = ok to lose this amount and eagerness in waiting for deposit limits to be refreshed and quicker to log in to play.
- Without limits = No rush to log in as no anticipation of when limits are refreshed and more mindful of not playing to lose.
I hold my hands up to having sessions of going on tilt if going badly, so yes, deposit limits are essential here, but on the whole I show more respect to playing without limits.
What's everyone else's thoughts on this? Naturally everyone has different financial positions (of which mine isn't great, but has seriously improved!).
