With HTML5 Netent has embarked heavily into psychological design and game play. They focus totally on keeping the player on his/toes and getting him/her addicted.
With the removal of reel strip designs they are now free to place any symbol anywhere. DOA, SoC, Warlords and the upcoming Divine Fortune are the best examples. The constant near misses have just one goal - we all know what that is. E.g. on DOA: To put those scatters just above or below the game window on every single spin with 2 scatters or in Free Spins the same with Wilds seem to be more important to Netent than providing a real game experience. We as seasoned players see through that but the new breed flooding the market nowadays are very prone to these psychological tricks.
The answer is only one word:
GREED .....and shit loads of it.
So UKGC, MGA and god knows who and what other monkey commission are supposed to protect players but they allow games that maximize the addiction effect.
I did now some 75.000 spins on it, less than usual due to the marathon, and the result is that it will be moved from my
"play every session" to my
"can play once in a while" list come January. It is just no fun to play anymore, those screeching sounds when 2 scatters hit, the endless win count, the sound of a Wild on each reel for the 5 extra spins is now played on every Wild dropping in....list not complete...........it is just bloody awful.
Hence my verdict still stands:
F*ck you Netent
