Hey guys just wondered if you guys have been following the csgo betting scene..
There is so much to this drama so I will link a video that explains what's been happening..

These betting sites have been popping up all over the show recently and are totally unregulated..
Some of these sites are turning 100's of thousands of dollars and are being run by kids.
Some of these sites are based in the us and the owners of some of the sites have been caught out rigging bets and giving out comes of rolls to popular streamers who play on their sites as promotion..
Its all over reddit ..

a lot of drama ahead folks

I was wondering why it is even possible to bet on games like CS:GO or StarCraft II where the players get a "whopping" $10,000 for 1st place finishes while you can simultaneously bet far larger sums on the outcome of the matches that lead to those results.
I knew right from the beginning that this is prone to some serious cheating. Esports betting should only be possible with very low bets if at all.

Doesn't surprise me at all.

CS:GO has a sub market in skins . The skins change the way your weapons look in game. They are only cosmetic and add no tactical advantage.. But some of these skins have sold for upto $20.000 and more due to their rarity in game .
This has created a gambling scene which is unregulated at the moment and scammers are just running wild

Here is another video which is the summery of what happened after a very popular csgo streamer "exposed" a gambling site that was giving him lists of future outcomes so he could win whenever he wanted.

The prize for the last cs:go major was 1 mill I believe ..
These gambling scandals are coming from sites that are offering casino type games roulette/bj/coin flips all made on their own software
there is a site called csgo lounge that offers the sports type betting on pro games and I also believe some uk bookies now take bets on matches . also the bets you can make on the lounge site are restricted to be quite low I see this site as probably the safest even though I don't bet myself.
I just make money on steams built in marketplace as it falls and rises like stockmarket
There has been pro teams who have thrown games's also

holy fudge, 2.3 billion in skin betting in 2015 alone, and some ppl say this figure is about to double this year, we are talking about kids getting addicted to this crap.

The last survey of eSports I read found an international eSport audience approaching 138 million and growing, with massive interest in Asia , the USA and now Europe....and most of this is the much-sought after (by online gambling and land firms alike) millennial demographic, so you can see why the vertical is being watched and evaluated carefully.

Some big-name sponsors are already involved - Coke and Nike are two that spring to mind but there are plenty more.

Add a plethora of sites associated with eSports (developers, skins, blogs, live events, odds etc) that have sprung up, many run by guys barely out of their teens, because money and entrepreneurial opportunities abound.

The recent scam outlined in this thread will add weight to calls for regulation I believe...in the UK an eSports ethics and integrity trade body has just been formed.

E-SPORTS INTEREST FROM MAJOR U.K. FOOTBALL CLUB

Manchester City signs eSports professional player Kieran Brown.

The major British football club Manchester City has made its first move into the rising eSports market by signing up eighteen-year-old professional player Kieran “Kez” Brown

A report in The Guardian newspaper claims that the young professional will play the Fifa 16 game for the team, live streaming on Twitch and making YouTube videos. He will also represent the football club at eSports tournaments and fan events.

Diego Gigliani, SVP for media and innovation at the club’s City Football Marketing unit said: “This is a natural evolution for Manchester City. We’ve been very involved with our partner, EA Sports, and the Fifa franchise for some time.

“We will be a bigger presence at gaming tournaments, we will have more content through our digital channels and we will engage even more with our fans at matches and club events.”

Gigliani added that Brown has great potential, saying: "Not only is he a great player, but we also believe he will engage and interact brilliantly with our fans all around the world.”

InfoPowa readers may recall that earlier this year West Ham United FC signed up eSports player Sean Allen (24) to play games for them over the internet and Youtube, and the German club Wolfsberg made a similar agreement with another eSports professional player, 22-year-old Englishman David Blytheway.

The Guardian reports that a number of YouTube stars have built huge followings playing the computerised football simulator FIFA 16 for fun, including KSI who has more than 13 million subscribers.

Manchester City may also have one eye on rival Manchester United, which last month was reportedly considering the purchase or sponsorship of an unidentified eSports professional playing team which specialises in the new first-person shooter game Overwatch.

The Guardian also notes that late last year major Arsenal shareholder Alisher Usmanov invested $100 million in Russia’s largest eSports platform Virtus.pro, and that last month SkyTV announced it would begin broadcasting Britain's first 24-hour eSports channel as part of an investment in channel owners Ginx TV which also included ITV.

If virgins wants to spend money on skins in games or bet on morons playing games they deserve to be scammed. I can't take "pro gaming" seriously.:lolup::lolup:

Valve are currently dealing with a class action law suit from unhappy parents who have found out their underage kids have being gambling using valves trade system to deposit skins on these sites as currency .
Another high profile case has just come to light involving an American streamer / illegal casino operator after a hacker released Skype logs between the 3 owners
The hacker has monitoring their Skype for months looking for a way to exploit the site. he has since decided to release the logs to journalists.
