CM Mentioned in U.S. News & World Report Article

Something that isn't obvious to many customers is the way some online casinos set the odds. Calvin Ayre, founder of Bodog.com, one of the world's biggest sports books, says that computers at his Costa Rican site identify each bettor and then personalize the odds.
:eek2: I thought for a moment an on-line casino had finally admitted to rigging its games... then realised they were talking about the sports book! It's still something I've never heard of being done - quite amusing if you can make money arbing bets at the same sports book

Bowman's does the same thing. One line for bettors they consider "sharp" and another line for bettors they consider "square".

I found this paragraph the most interesting:

"That's not the only website wile. A study by Canadian psychologists published last year in the journal Computers in Human Behavior found that 45 of 117 randomly selected Internet casinos inflated the player's win ratio during the free introductory games. When the psychologists bet $100 each at five sites, they lost almost everything. One casino refused to cash out their $14 winnings unless they gambled again. They did, and lost. Another site refused to refund the $20 they had left after losing $80."

I will try to find this article. I can believe online casinos doing all sorts of nasty things, but I don't trust psychologists doing statistics.

I believe they have done to their casino too. My results at bodog casino is quite amusing and very very different than other RTG casinos. For every session the house has a edge of 1%-3%. My overall results of ~50,000 hands of BJ is -1.8%.

Remember that they give 20% bonus on every deposit and the wr is 20x.

And they are the only RTG casino has the surrender option (anyone else)? (which is programed by Bodog?)

Just as I suspected, they only recorded whether they won over 100 or 500 games without even mentioning what games they played (possibly slots siince they selected the casinos by searching for slot machines on search engines) and without any analysis of whether this is statistically significantly more than could be expected from a fair game.

i have my own personal suspicions about the microgaming free play games-particularly at the belle rock group.

i once played 2 no's at the keno game- and played 100 goes

the odds of getting 2 no.s out of 2 is approx 16-1, over the 100 goes, i got it 25 times to give me odds of 3-1.

but i guess the most amusing award must goto playtech for their free-play software, which i will admit plays no difference to their normal software.

thats not the amusing part, but the amusing part is when you play BJ or war and have lost your first 5/6/7 hands at max stakes, then you win 1 hand and get the message which says something to the effect of "your very lucky today, why not play for real cash now"

"Even the online casinos that play it straight often drag their feet. It typically takes up to five days for a gambler to cash out, a temptation to a gambling addict. Sue, a 52-year-old paralegal who doesn't want her last name used, said that's one reason she lost more than $12,000 gambling online in the past two years. "I couldn't control myself during that few-day waiting period and kept chipping away until there was nothing left," she says, noting that it only took seconds for the casino to accept her money."

No surprise there.
