I got this from "Lauren" this morning.

What is more sinister about this is that this spammer doesn't just know my name (which can be guessed from my email address), but my LOGIN to the casino, which can ONLY have come from them.

It HAS to be spam, because it is for the WELCOME BONUS, and I ALREADY HAVE AN ACCOUNT, and have done for years.

It originates from worldonlinegaming@communicatoremail.com which funnily enough is the SAME DOMAIN that pinkfloyd has recently complained is spamming an address NEVER USED BEFORE for casinos (so therefore it could NEVER have been subject to "opt in" permission).

Whilst it is bad enough selling our email addresses for "marketing", it seems Club World are passing USERNAMES (Login details) as well, which is clearly unnecessary for marketing purposes. My email is at least one used extensively for online casinos, but the fact this marketing firm are sending spam to pinkfloyd means that clearly they are NOT obeying ANY anti-spam rules in their operations, and so therefore CANNOT be trusted to deal with OUR email addresses in accordance with the anti-spam rules.

I am now getting convinced that much of what we think of as "rogue affiliate spam" is actually down to the CASINOS THEMSELVES, since I have recently seen an INCREASE in spam for casinos, yet at the same time the crackdowns on rogue affiliates are better than ever (for reputable casinos at least) because of increasing pressure from players.

A large amount of my spam is now showing up a VERY small number of bulk marketing domains when I hover my mouse, rather than the "free" domains beloved by spammers.

I also know that GENUINE promos are handled through c-f-1.com, and I would certainly NOT be offered the WELCOME bonus on an existing account of some years.

My ISP had flagged this as SPAM (see screenshot), but because so many genuine promos end up in the spam bin, I just opt to have the flag added to the subject line, and the email delivered as normal for manual filtering.

Well, this goes to show this is a mass spamming of everyone regardless of status with the casino,

but,

HOW THE **** DID THEY GET MY LOGIN NAME!!!!!!!!!!!!

This can ONLY have come from WITHIN the Club World organisation!! This "security" of our details is a complete JOKE!!!!

What ELSE is now being passed on beyond mere email addresses.

Those few casinos that have admitted to using marketing agencies say they ONLY pass on the bare minimum, and NOTHING that might compromise our security.

Since it is in terms and conditions that FOR OUR OWN PROTECTION we should not disclose any of our login details to a third party, it means it IS a security threat for our account login to be passed on, since this means security then rests solely on the strength of the password, and many people STILL use weak passwords because they are easily remembered.

I received the exact same email Vinyl!

I contacted livechat immediately. They asked from which adresse it was sent, I pasted it on to them. After a while he could "assure me" that it was not spam, but a promotional email that was sent out to members that not yet had made a deposit. When I told him that I had made tons of deposits there, he said, "oh, there must have been a mistake somewhere".

I really don't know what to beleive.. Why didn't "Lauren" send it from "her" regular adresse? The whole case smells 2 months old fish..

EXACTLY!!

CS probably don't know what has happened, but it is clear to me. This has come as an instruction from Club World marketing to send this out. The proof is the fact that my login username is quoted. What stinks is that this has been sent to "everybody", rather than just to those who have never made a deposit. Further, as you say, why was this NOT sent from Lauren's regular address, where ALL promotions to existing players are sent from.

This looks suspiciously like an attempt to get existing players to sign up at a SISTER casino, but got screwed up in the process, so that some were invited to take the welcome bonus at a casino where they already HAD an account, rather than at a sister site. I have already had spam for the sister sites, and it seems this might have been at the direction of Club World marketing, since it came from a major bulk emailing company, not something a mere affiliate is likely to be using.

I got the same mail and asked CS about it. They had me email it to them because it was a mess up. Said it was authorized but sent to the wrong bunch of folks.

This still doesn't quite add up.

If it was "authorised", but intended, say, for folks who had not yet deposited, WHY did it NOT come from the "normal" address.

We are always being told by casinos to "add us to your safe list so that you receive our emails", so surely they would ensure that EXISTING players were sent their offers from a CONSISTENT "from" address. It follows therefore that even with the blunder, this should STILL have come from the "normal" address for promotions, and not from a new one, and CERTAINLY not one that ISP's have down on their spam lists.

Things like that worries me.
I get 10-15 mails in my spambox pr day. Most of them have casino written in different ways to bypass the spam filter like C@siN..0 etc.

90% of these mails contains my full name. So they must have gotten my info from other casinos.
I played at a lot of casinos both rogue and accredited in the 4 years ive played. Untill I got the sense to join here and get a better idea of whats rogue and whats ok.

But the increasing numbers of spam mails with my info, has made me request a new credit card at my bank, just to be on the safe side.

It's actually not spam, here's the deal as you can also read in the pic attached here. The old "Pharaoh's Casino" has now partnered with ClubWorld Casino and also opened up an account there for their members with the account number starting with "tccr".

You can log in to the regular ClubWorld Casino with both your old account name and also with this new account number. The new account number logs you into the "Pharaoh's Casino" side but it looks just like you are logging into Clubworld because in essence you are by using the existing ClubWorld software client. They did not change the look of ClubWorld yet to reflect the "Pharaoh's Casino".

You can also claim the free $55 chip and the 400% first deposit bonus like Vinyl posted about above. The software is RTG. It's just like you now have two separate accounts at ClubWorld. I used both the free chip and the 400% deposit bonus there yesterday with this new account number. Your old account name and password still work just the same as always with the ClubWorld side.

Maybe ClubWorld will now pass me a $250 free chip with a 5x playthru and no max cashout for helping them here in explaining this...:D

This is hilarious....I've never heard of Pharaoh's casino but after Rob's post that it's an RTG, I go to find it...I get to the website which shows Playtech screenshots. So I think I've got the wrong one, I do a search and find a casino review article that says Pharaoh's casino has switched from Boss Media to Microgaming!

Yea, that's correct. It was Micro before just now merging with ClubWorld. They must have been losing too much money from not allowing US Players there, hence the deal with ClubWorld. You can see in the pic below and from the website where it says "Powered By ClubWorld Casino Group"

Hi All,

The email from Lauren was a genuine mistake. The email was intended for non-depositing accounts but it was sent to some depositing accounts as well. While it is certainly embarrassing when this happens, there is definately nothing sinister going on.

I do apologise for this and would like to take this opportunity to reassure all our players that we hold their personal information in the strictest security and would never sell or share this information with anyone.

The other point raised in this thread is the emails that have gone out to Pharaohs Casino players.

Pharaohs Casino is now unable to accept players from the US so they asked us if we could look after them. We created accounts and offered them a free chip so they could try out our casino and decide if they want to stay.

There is no ongoing relationship between these players and Pharaohs. We would be taking care of their accounts in their entirety and so only players with pre-existing accounts with Pharaohs have been included.

Kind Regards
Tom

These blunders are making you look bad. They LOOK like spam, even get TAGGED as spam by leading ISPs (see my screenshot).

What you have not covered is WHY a completely NEW "from" address has been used. Many players, if they can, will have ensured that their promotions from Lauren do not get binned by their spam filters. Mostly, this will have been done by adding the "from" address to a safelist, which would override the spam filter's usual enthusiasm for ditching anything casino related. By suddenly changing to a completely different "from" address, even without having some go to the wrong players, many players who were intended to receive this would not see it - it would be in their spam bin DESPITE them having added the usual "Lauren" from address to their safelist. They will not see the reminder, and thus may not deposit. Indeed, they may even be EXPECTING this "welcome" email, and may have held off from depositing because they didn't receive it.

The other point raised was how on earth do spammers manage to CORRECTLY address us by name. This should be IMPOSSIBLE if they were up to the common spammers tricks of using email spiders, randomly generating email addresses and sending via botnets, etc.
When a player receives what appears to be spam that addresses them by name, and worse still quotes what should be very PRIVATE information, such as casino log in details, the most obvious explanation, and what springs to mind, is that their details have been passed to the spammer by the casino.

In this respect, I was correct, Club World DID pass my details to this marketing company, but in error (and therefore UNNECESSARILY), thinking that I was a new player that had yet to deposit.

This kind of mistake can have more serious consequences, since the addition of my login name makes this a PERSONAL invite, and under general Casinomeister standards, an accredited casino is expected to honour personal invites, unless there are extenuating circumstances. There may be players who received this, and took it as a personal invite because it included their username, only to run into problems when trying to claim the code, and maybe even having patronising chats with support making THEM feel in the wrong for even attempting to redeem the coupon they were sent.

Club World are simply making too many blunders, and many are simple ones that should NEVER happen in a well run online casino business. These blunders are causing more negative sentiment than positive, and give the overall impression that Club World are in decline from what was once a glorious past. There are many new RTG kids on the block, and so far it seems Club World are "eating their dust" when it comes to how players FEEL they are being treated.

Jackpot Capital and Buzzluck seem to be the leaders, but with Rushmore seeming to be pulling up lame and falling back. Club World seem to produce few positive threads now.
With so many new and reputable RTG casinos opening, the "old school" have far more competition. I remember when it was almost Club World Vs the RTG rogues, with Mainstreet and Wager Junction not really seeming keen to up their game. It was about the time I ditched the other 2, and went to try Club World, and for the most part the performance was up with the best, and I didn't receive ANY "spam" for Club World related casinos (there were only three, one for each currency).

Tom, let me make sure I have this straight about what you just said there regarding Pharaoh's...It appears that I now have two accounts at ClubWorld based on what you just said above. My existing ClubWorld account "RobWin" and my new account that starts with "tccr" that you guys created for me.

I played on the new "tccr" account both yesterday and today. Should I only use my one existing account, the old existing one "RobWin" or this new one "tccr" or both??

I got to say mate, this is purdy confusing even for existing members.

It appears club world doesnt do sweet FA about there affiliates spamming anyway,
i posted some time ago here
https://www.casinomeister.com/forums/threads/clubworld-spam-again.31685/

yet today i received more spam from the same affiliate
You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.

despit being told by martyn

Thanks for the heads up (again). This seems to be from the same affiliate as last time, but the thing is after I dropped them an email regards to the previous issue their account was closed as no response was received.

Although it seems you have received more spam from this affiliate it will have no benefit to them. However I am pretty powerless to stop them sending. I will try and make contact again and inform them regards their account status and see where we get. I will reference my earlier mail which also requested your email accounts to be removed from their list

so if there account was closed why am i still receiving it after 3 months
