I'd have thought the majority of Americans have spoken, and to call them bigots and racists is sadly an indication of why these new-wave liberals fought so very hard to diminish the value of the First Amendment.

As a whole, you'd think they'd support a non-career politician without the associated baggage and who has no political affiliations or bad habits, and whose sole ambition is to make the U.S great again

Granted, when I first heard his plans on building a wall I was waiting for someone to deliver the punchline. It's a hilariously crude plan that essentially spearheaded his campaign. Populist rhetoric is the new direction politics is headed.

I don't think even many of his own supporters truly like him, like stated he was just the lesser of two evils for many. Imagine he'd run twenty or thirty years ago, he would have been laughed out of town.

But as he's here now -and Clinton would have terrible in many other ways too- instead of focussing on his past misdemeanours the country should get behind him now and actually give him a chance to rebuild America. Which is surely what every American wants.

Could you specify what exactly "needs to be done" here? Building a wall and deporting people will not magically solve all of America's issues. Normalizing fascism, if anything, will cause more issues. And don't even get me started on the problems a republican-run congress will impose on LGBTQ people.

Donald has simply emotionally swayed the general American public with a hateful rhetoric, citing the above as the end-all reason that America is facing hardships (which is absurd, given that America is doing better than usual when it comes to the economy, public health, violet crime rates, etc etc).

I fully understand being enraged at "the system" – I am as well. But voting this clown into presidency is not going to solve anything. America's problems are far deeper than this.

It is a great shot in the arm for Brexit. Our PM May has played a canny game by not criticizing Trump while many top EU politicians lambasted him. The EU lot will be shitting themselves as it does nothing to help the EU. In fact it could put the nail in the coffins of Merkel and Hollande as well as hasten the demise of the EU. IMO

I too think he is an utter arse on a personal level but I have hope that he may change American foreign policy for the better as far as diplomatic relations go as well as improve the fortunes of the UK given that we need to forge new trade deals.
