Chrome and firefox no longer allow new opened windows to continue until focused?!

Ok yeah, I have 32gb of ram so I do not have an issue with multiple windows and tabs being open. I tested it many times and I can have about 20 windows open or more all with various videos/slots/sites in without any issues :)

But this fix is a god send :)

Yeah, it was a pain for me havng to use firefox as it is my main browser and is loaded with addons like adblocks cookie blockers, no$cript etc. which plays havoc with casinos, using a clean chrome is much better solution for my casino play.

Does this still work? I've tried it on Chrome and disabled the option above but the casino tab still pauses when tabbing away from it...:/

So it seems Chrome are back at it and have removed this flag and rebroken the browser, the flag is still there only it is hidden and will be apparently deleted soon (I guess they only have single core CPUs at the largest tech company on the planet??)

Anyhow the fix still works (for now) using the same method only you need to re-enable the flag beforehand with this command:

first enter chrome://flags/ into the address bar search for temporary-unexpire-flags-m96 and enable it
then restart as prompted and then you can do the rest below:

Found the fix for this:

Open Chrome and type in the address bar chrome://flags/ then go to or search for " Calculate window occlusion on Windows " and disable it.

enjoy.

Cheers.
Was getting a bit annoyed at the same thing happening again, and i couldnt find the option to turn it off again, when searching the flags nothing would show up when searching for 'occlusion'.

The feature will be completely removed soon maybe even on the next chrome update, got to be the stupidest thing ever, they do it to 'free up resources' sure that would make sense in 2001 when we used single core cpus and had 512mb of ram, but now we have what 4/8/16/32 cores and Gb's of unused ram, also edge uses chromium now so it suffers with the same problem and of course firefox plan to do the same as well soon. (WHY?)

for added measure I have disabled chrome updates as well untill I can test the latest update on a burner laptop. (not advised if you use chrome as your day to day browser)

Though Firefox was always the better of the two overall, it is heartening to see these decrepit, disease- ridden browsers show how inept they are.

Much like most, I'd default on Chrome under some placebo notion that they ran technically- taxing things 'better', turns out they don't.

Probably one of the rare few browsers capable of hard- crashing one's system and corrupting itself to the point of being irreparable. So have fun with Chrome peeps, I'm sure many more 'adventures' await :thumbsup:

Now do a google search for Windows Cleaner. Pay a one-off fee for a program of ladder service that bridges your baseline to your windows and cleans them inside and out. Should be able to have clear uninterrupted viewing thereafter.

No need to thank.

Using firefox until a fix is found, seems chrome have shut off all possible routes for fixing this, flags and registry solutions no longer work, ill keep an eye on reddit see in case some boffin comes up with something.

Ok, the other fix was just a practice fix.
This fix works.

Open notepad and add the bold text, save it as a .reg file instead of .txt
After that you just run the file and there you go.
Windows in the background will now keep running without freezing up.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Chrome]
"NativeWindowOcclusionEnabled"=dword:00000000
"WindowOcclusionEnabled"=dword:00000000

I just ran into this issue on Firefox 98. I decided to switch to "Waterfox" and it is easy to import your profile so you have your bookmarks, history, and whatnot.

I have SocialTournaments in the background and CM in a "New Window". Working great again...
